"Don’t worry!" Irene Spencer took another sip of coffee, "She’s just a bit dazed, not incapable of taking care of herself. The food and water I’ve left for her should last three days. Of course..." she smiled, "if you haven’t gotten me out of the country by then, I can’t guarantee she won’t get hurt."

"You!" Nathan Leafcastle’s eyes filled with anger, but he quickly suppressed his emotions, "I know a ship from a Singaporean company. It’ll be passing through Vanora’s port tomorrow. I’ll arrange for you to board it and go to the United States."

"Thanks a lot then!"

Irene Spencer smiled.

It turned out, this time, she bet on the right horse!

"I’ll go check on her."

Nathan Leafcastle turned around and walked up the stairs again.

In the Master Bedroom, Vera Wave had just hung up the phone. Hearing footsteps outside, she quickly put away her phone and closed her eyes, pretending to be unconscious.

Nathan Leafcastle pushed the door open and quickly moved to her bedside.

"Vera, wake up!"

Hearing his voice, Vera hurriedly sat up.

"How is it?"

"She won’t tell me. She said she’ll only tell me where my grandma is after I send her out of the country."

"Then what are we going to do?" Vera glanced out the window, "Kris Cooper will be here soon!"

As soon as she finished speaking, the sound of an engine roared outside, and the two of them turned toward the window. Vera spoke softly.

"It should be Kris Cooper!"

Downstairs, Irene Spencer also heard the noise. Feeling guilty, she abruptly put down her coffee and stood up from the chair, quickly rushing to the window to look out.

From afar, she saw a sapphire-blue car speeding toward them like the wind.

"Damn it!" She immediately recognized it as Kris Cooper’s car, her heart skipped a beat, and she turned around, rushing upstairs and pushing open the bedroom door, "Not good, Kris Cooper..." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Upon seeing Vera and Nathan Leafcastle standing by the bed, her voice froze.

"You two?!"

Vera wasn’t unconscious, which means... Nathan Leafcastle was deceiving her?!

"Irene Spencer!" Vera stared at her coldly, "The police are on their way. Prepare to face punishment!"

Realizing she had been tricked, Irene Spencer turned and ran upstairs.

"Stop!"

Vera took a step to chase.

"I’ll go!" Nathan Leafcastle extended his arm to block her, then darted out the door, chasing after Irene Spencer.

As Irene Spencer dashed down the stairs, Kris Cooper’s car was already roaring up outside.

He glanced at the villa in front of him, then jerked the car into a reverse to gain some distance, immediately flooring the accelerator.

The engine roared as the sports car charged like a wild mustang, tearing across the lawn and crashing through the sliding glass doors.

Bang!

The toughened glass shattered with a sound, and the car barreled into the living room like a mad bull.

Glass fragments flew; the car knocked over a vase, sent a coffee table flying, and shoved the sofa back before screeching to a halt in front of the partition wall.

Jumping from the car, Kris Cooper, eyes ablaze, scanned the room, spotting Irene Spencer standing behind the bar and immediately shouted.

"Where’s Vera?!"

"Kris!" Vera and Nathan Leafcastle rushed down from the stairs together, "I’m here, I’m fine!"

"Fine?!" Irene Spencer burst out laughing, "You think that’s the end of it; nobody move, or... I’ll take you all down with me now!"

Everyone turned to face her, seeing she was gripping a gas valve with one hand while holding a lighter in the other.
