"S-Security... Call security..." Nelson choked out, still clutching his stomach in pain.

His plea finally snapped everyone out of their daze. The male receptionist hurried outside to call for help.

Meanwhile, Wendy swallowed nervously. ’He really awakened?’ A flicker of unease crossed her face. ’Damn it. Jenny is going to become even more unbearable now.’

She quickly turned toward Fredrick. "Brother, he attacked your friend Nelson. Aren’t you going to teach him a lesson?" she said righteously, as if she were standing up against some great injustice.

But Fredrick had long since sobered up. He grabbed Wendy’s arm and pulled her backward. "Stop it, Wendy," he hissed in a low voice. "I only reached D-Class recently. Even Nelson got knocked out with a single punch. Do you really want me to end up the same way?"

"But..."

"No buts."

Fredrick’s expression hardened. "I’ve indulged your childish behavior for far too long. Enough is enough."

Without giving her another chance to argue, he dragged her toward the exit. She struggled unwillingly, but Fredrick didn’t stop.

Meanwhile, Jenny let out a triumphant snort.

"Hmph!" She raised her chin proudly and shot Wendy a smug look.

Leon slowly walked over to Nelson and extended a hand to help him up.

"I hope you don’t mind," he said with a faint smile. "You wouldn’t have believed me, no matter what I said about the machine malfunctioning. But now you know I wasn’t lying, right?"

Nelson ignored the offered hand and glared at him. "T-That’s a reason to punch someone that hard?" he growled. "What if I had died just now?"

"Died?" Leon blinked innocently. "How could you die? You’re a whole rank above me. You only got hurt because you were overconfident in your defense, and I moved faster than you expected."

Before Nelson could protest, Leon grabbed him by the shoulders gently and pulled him to his feet. He even brushed the dust off Nelson’s white coat.

"Haha, now you can test me again, right?"

By then, the male receptionist had returned with several security guards, each of them carrying a high-grade submachine gun.

The guards immediately locked their eyes onto Leon, ready to subdue him at a moment’s notice.

But Nelson raised a hand. "Stand down."

The guards stopped instantly.

"Oscar," Nelson said through gritted teeth, "go bring the technical team. I want that machine checked."

"What?" Oscar stared at him. "Are you serious? He attacked you just now."

"Just do what I said."

The male receptionist hesitated for a moment before nodding and hurrying out of the room.

A few minutes later, he returned with two technicians.

The two newcomers immediately walked over to the translucent pillar and began inspecting it thoroughly.

Meanwhile, Leon returned to Jenny’s side.

Jenny looked at him with sparkling eyes. "Brother, that was awesome! You really weren’t joking when you said you awakened. What’s your ability? Reinforcement Magic?"

Leon scratched his cheek. "It’s hard to explain, but... yeah. Something like that."

Twenty minutes later, the inspection was finally completed. One of the technicians stood up and looked at Nelson.

"There’s nothing wrong with the machine."

"Nothing wrong?" Nelson narrowed his eyes.

"Then test him again."

He turned toward Leon.

Leon nodded and walked back to the pillar. Placing his palm against its surface, he waited quietly.

Jenny clasped her hands together excitedly. ’What rank is Brother at now? And what’s his maximum level he can train up to? Is it A-Class? Or maybe... even S?’ Her eyes sparkled with anticipation.

A few seconds later, however, all of her excitement vanished. It felt as though a bucket of ice-cold water had been dumped over her head.

The screen displayed the exact same result.

>Ability: None

>Mana Pool: Nil

"What?" This time, even Leon was visibly puzzled.

"System?" he whispered inwardly.

[Yes, Host.]

"Why does it keep saying I don’t have any abilities? Is there something wrong with me, or is the machine broken?"

[Host’s power originates from Qi. Earth’s assessment machines are designed to detect Mana.]

[As a result, the machine is incapable of detecting the Host’s power.]

’What the fuck?’ Leon nearly cursed aloud.

’Then how am I supposed to get a hunter license?’

Just as he was racking his brain for a solution, the chamber door suddenly opened.

Click.

Click.

Click.

The crisp sound of high heels echoed throughout the room. Everyone instinctively turned toward the entrance.

A woman stepped inside. She appeared to be in her mid twenties. A tailored light-gray business suit hugged her graceful figure perfectly, giving her an air of authority and refinement. The fitted blazer accentuated her slender waist, while the matching skirt extended elegantly to her knees. Her long blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders in soft waves. Her fair skin looked flawless, and her calm eyes radiated a confidence hard to miss.

The moment everyone saw who it was, they all stepped back.

Every step she took was measured and elegant. Even the slight sway of her hips somehow appeared graceful rather than seductive.

Even from afar, Leon could feel the domineering aura around her. ’She is strong.’

She stopped beside Nelson and glanced around the room.

"What’s all this commotion about?" she asked coolly.

The entire chamber fell silent.

"Miss President." Nelson immediately straightened despite the pain in his chest.

"This person is showing no abilities during assessment, yet he’s clearly far stronger than an ordinary human."

The woman’s gaze swept across the room before finally settling on Leon.

"Him?"

"Yes, Miss President," Nelson replied respectfully.

The female president looked directly at Leon.

"What is your ability?"

"I can use a sword. And..." Leon paused.

The woman’s eyes narrowed slightly. "And?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Leon raised a hand. "I can do something like this."

A jackal corpse materialized from thin air and dropped to the ground.

Thud!

The monster corpse startled everyone in the room. Jenny, who was standing beside Leon, instinctively took a step back, her face turning pale.

"I can store objects in a separate space and retrieve them whenever I want," Leon explained calmly. "Weapons, monster corpses... pretty much anything."

’Everyone will find out about these abilities sooner or later anyway,’ he thought. ’And these two should be enough to get me a license.’

The female president studied him silently for a few seconds. A hint of surprise flashed through her eyes before disappearing just as quickly.

"Bring him to my office," she said. Then she paused briefly. "I’ll call Grandpa."

Without waiting for a response, she turned around and left.

Leon watched her departing figure before turning toward Nelson.

"Her? Is she President Stanley’s granddaughter or something?"

"Yes," Nelson replied. He glanced at Leon seriously. "Now stop wasting time and wait outside her office. Don’t keep her waiting."

Meanwhile, the female president had already entered her office.

The moment the door closed behind her, she took out her phone and dialed a number.

The call connected almost immediately.

"Grandpa," she said, her usually calm voice carrying a hint of urgency. "I think one of the anomalies you mentioned before may have appeared during today’s assessment. And this one is even more interesting. Can you come here?"

On the other end of the line, an old yet authoritative voice answered without hesitation. "Yes. Wait for me."
