I Can Level Up Infinitely
Chapter 60: Against A C-Class Tank
Jenny’s face flushed red with embarrassment. "Brother, didn’t you say you awakened as a knight? Then what’s this?" she asked in a hushed voice, completely ignoring Wendy’s earlier mockery.
Leon’s eyes narrowed.
He walked over to Nelson, who was still lounging in his chair, and stopped in front of him. "Something went wrong with the measurement. Can you please check?"
"Yeah," Nelson replied mockingly. "Something always goes wrong whenever someone ends up with no ability. It’s hard for people to accept reality, after all. But I really don’t have time to babysit you today. Could you please leave? Other candidates are waiting."
Before Leon could respond, Wendy’s brother let out a chuckle.
"Your arrogance earlier almost fooled me. I thought you were actually something." He shook his head with a laugh. "Turns out you really are... Just not worth any value."
Wendy stepped forward and joined him in the fun.
Nelson raised an eyebrow. "You know this guy, Fredrick?"
"Not really," Fredrick replied casually. "But he was acting all high and mighty outside, so we decided to come and see what he was actually capable of."
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jenny snapped. "You were the ones trying to insult us from the very beginning. Now you have the nerve to accuse us of acting arrogantly? Whether my brother awakened or not has nothing to do with you. Get lost."
She grabbed Leon’s sleeve and tried to pull him away.
But before she could take a step...
Wendy suddenly moved forward and swung her hand.
Smack!
A sharp slap echoed throughout the room.
"What are you acting so smug about? And how dare you talk to my brother like that?"
Jenny froze. She slowly touched her burning cheek, disbelief flashing across her face. Then something inside her snapped. Without hesitation, she swung her own hand, too.
Smack!
The second slap was even louder than the first.
Wendy staggered back. A thin line of blood appeared at the corner of her lips.
"Who do you think you are, bitch? Get the hell out of here."
Wendy immediately turned toward Fredrick with teary eyes. "Brother! She slapped me!"
Fredrick’s expression darkened instantly.
"How dare you?" he roared. "You’re already causing trouble by bringing your trash brother here, and now you have the nerve to hit my sister?"
Leon’s brows furrowed. ’What the hell is this? Some cheap melodrama? They’ve been deliberately making things difficult from the very beginning.’
Fredrick suddenly lunged forward and threw a punch.
Jenny’s face turned pale. The clenched fist rapidly closed the distance between them.
’No... Leon, you idiot! My face is going to get ruined because of you...’ Blaming every bit of this situation on her brother, Jenny squeezed her eyes shut and braced herself for the impact.
But...
One second passed.
Then another.
The expected pain never came.
Confused, she slowly opened her eyes. And then she saw it.
A hand was gripping Fredrick’s fist. Firmly. Effortlessly. As if an immovable steel wall had stopped the punch.
It was Leon. He stood there silently, his fingers clutching Fredric’s fist with ease.
Fredrick’s expression changed drastically. He immediately tried to yank his hand free. But nothing. His fist didn’t move even an inch.
Wendy frowned. "Brother, what are you doing? Beat him up already!" She thought Fredrick was deliberately dragging things out to make the scene more dramatic.
Fredrick gritted his teeth and pulled harder.
Still nothing.
The hand gripping his fist felt like an iron vice. Then suddenly...
Leon released his grip. Caught completely off guard by the abrupt loss of resistance, Fredrick stumbled backward.
Thud!
He lost his balance and crashed onto the floor.
Everyone froze. Wendy. Her classmates. Nelson. Even the male receptionist from earlier.
All of them stared at the scene in disbelief.
’Wait... wasn’t he just fooling around?’ Nelson’s eyes narrowed. ’Then why does it feel like the situation is totally opposite?’
Ignoring Fredrick completely, Leon calmly walked toward Nelson.
"I heard you’re a Tank with Bronze Skin, right?"
Nelson straightened his posture. "Yes. Why?"
"Then that makes you a C-Class knight, correct?"
"That’s right." Nelson frowned. "What’s your point?"
"Can I see you activate it?" Leon asked innocently. "I’m new to all of this. I don’t really understand how awakened abilities work."
Nelson let out a chuckle. "Sure." The earlier scene had caught him off guard. He started thinking that Leon was an anomaly, and that’s why his power couldn’t be checked. But Leon’s statement just now proved he really had no ability.
A smug smile spread across his face. "This will help you understand the difference between an awakened knight and a powerless dud.
Watch carefully."
Nelson took a deep breath and focused, his core tightening. Immediately, a bronze glow spread across his body. His skin darkened and hardened, taking on a metallic sheen.
In just a few seconds, he looked like a man sculpted entirely from bronze.
Nearby, Wendy helped Fredrick back to his feet. Their classmates watched eagerly, completely absorbed in the unfolding drama.
Jenny, on the other hand, looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her whole. She couldn’t understand what her brother was trying to do.
Meanwhile, Leon quietly pulled his fist back.
’I’m already close to C-Class myself. My current damage state alone might not be enough... But if I combine it with my speed... It should work.’
The next moment...
Whoosh!
His fist shot forward. The movement was so fast that it looked like a coiled spring being released.
Twack!
A dull impact echoed. Nelson’s feet left the ground immediately. And then, his body was launched backward like a cannonball.
Time seemed to slow.
While flying through the air, Nelson suddenly heard a cracking sound. His eyes instinctively lowered.
A spiderweb of fractures was spreading across the bronze armor covering his chest.
His mind went blank. ’Impossible...’
Thud!
A moment later, his body slammed into the wall. He slid down helplessly and collapsed onto the floor like a wet cloth.
For a brief moment... Complete silence. Not a single person spoke. Wendy’s eyes became as wide as saucers. Fredrick’s jaw hung open.
Jenny, meanwhile, looked at her brother with awe.
Leon slowly lowered his fist.
’It’s hard to convince people with just words these days.’ A faint smile appeared on his lips. ’But if words don’t work... This should be convincing enough, right?’
