I Got Cheated On and Ended Up in A Beast World
Chapter 79 - Seventy-Nine: Charming the heavens with my face
Lin Wan felt the sudden, sharp sting on her wrists, followed by a massive rush of warm, golden energy that bound their souls together.
The moment the bond locked into place, she saw the tragic, self-sacrificing expressions on their faces and instantly realized that these two idiot kings had completely misunderstood her intentions.
They thought they were dying. But she was currently so exhausted from the delivery that she had absolutely no strength left to correct them.
Leaning upward with a heavy grunt, Lin Wan pulled Qin Mo down first, pressing her lips against his to seal the wet, metallic taste of the mate bind.
Before the stunned snake could even react, she turned her head and pulled Long Zhan down, planting a firm, lingering kiss on his lips as well.
"Go," she whispered against his skin.
Before their astonished, wide eyes could even blink, Lin Wan activated her mental command.
A brilliant, blinding flash of golden light erupted from her palms, wrapping around both Qin Mo and Long Zhan.
In the next heartbeat, their massive, powerful figures completely dissolved into thin air, leaving the bedroom completely empty.
A sudden, crisp scent of clean air and modern vanilla washed over Qin Mo and Long Zhan’s senses.
Their boots clicked against a hard, polished surface that was definitely not the dirt floor of the cottage.
Both sovereigns instantly dropped into defensive combat stances, their bodies tense, their eyes flashing with raw power as they looked around the massive, elegantly furnished master bedroom.
The walls were smooth and white, the furniture was crafted with perfect, geometric lines, and a massive, plush bed sat in the center of the room.
"Where... where are we?" Long Zhan growled, his violet eyes darting to a large glass window that showed a perfectly calm, neutral grey sky. There was no thunder here. No wind. No world-ending red lightning.
"Look," Qin Mo whispered, his silver eyes locking onto the center of the bed.
Resting beneath a soft, cotton hoodie that smelled exactly like Lin Wan were the three little human infants, sleeping peacefully side by side without a single scratch on them.
Before either of them could take a step toward the bed, Lin Wan’s voice suddenly echoed through the air of the room, sounding clear, ethereal, and perfectly calm, as if she were speaking into a microphone from across the void.
"The cubs are inside my room," her voice directed, gentle yet firm. "Take a look around and choose your own bedrooms. Don’t worry about me, I will be completely fine. I needed the two of you to be safe before I could do anything out here. Take care of the boys for me. When I get back, we will name them together."
The voice faded, leaving the room in a heavy, stunned silence. Long Zhan and Qin Mo shared a long, complicated look, the lingering terror in their chests slowly transforming into an overwhelming wave of disbelief.
"Wanwan... is really full of incredible surprises," Long Zhan murmured, rubbing the back of his neck as his proud shoulders finally relaxed.
"That is exactly why she is my Wanwan," Qin Mo said, a soft, immensely proud smile breaking across his elegant face as he stepped toward the bed to look down at the babies.
Long Zhan let out a loud, irritated snort. "Humph! She is also my marked female now, damn snake. Watch your mouth."
"Enough," Qin Mo hissed, though there was no real venom in his voice this time. He looked around the pristine, luxurious modern room, his silver eyes narrowing with a deep, serious focus. "We cannot be fighting like children now. We need to take care of Wanwan’s house and guard these cubs properly so she doesn’t have a single worry while she is out there. And then..."
Qin Mo’s hands clenched into tight fists. "We need to raise our ranks immediately. I cannot believe a legendary King like me actually had to be hidden away behind his own female’s skirts just to survive a storm."
Long Zhan’s face went a dark, furious red right up to his ears, his draconic pride deeply stung by the truth of the words. "Humph! Do you think I enjoy being protected by a woman? The moment she returns, I am entering secluded cultivation. I will tear through the domain boundaries if I have to."
Back on the surface of the primitive realm, the wooden cottage was completely silent save for the groaning of the beams under the violent wind.
Lin Wan sat on the edge of the empty bed, her jaw clenched. Reaching into the medical storage vault of her pocket space, she mentally pulled out a small, bitter-smelling numbing pill and tossed it dry into her mouth, swallowing it to blunt the lingering exhaustion and physical pain of the childbirth.
Her body instantly felt lighter, her senses turning sharp and focused as the elite agent’s training locked her muscles into place.
She stood up, walked slowly across the floorboards, and stepped directly out onto the wooden porch, facing the apocalyptic sky.
The moment her boots cleared the threshold, an incredibly powerful, violent gust of wind swept across the square, catching the edge of her facial mask and ripping it completely away from her skin, letting it fly into the dark jungle.
Lin Wan didn’t care. She tilted her chin up, her beautiful, flawless face exposed to the elements as she looked defiantly into the swirling eye of the purple vortex above.
Strangely, the very second her face was fully uncovered beneath the flashing lightning, the entire world seemed to experience a sudden, unnatural pause.
The howling wind dropped into a dead silence for a brief second, the roaring thunder catching in the throat of the sky, as if the heavens themselves had paused to look down at her.
Lin Wan blinked, looking at the suddenly stationary clouds, and couldn’t help but let out a dry, sarcastic tsk in utter disbelief. ’So that is all it takes?’ she thought, a mocking smile touching her lips. ’All I needed to do to calm a world-ending crisis was to charm the literal heavens with my face?’
But before she could even activate her teleportation talisman to draw the remaining energy away, her eyes caught a sudden movement in the dark clouds above.
An elegant, breathtaking figure dressed in a flowing, ethereal blue gauze wear was suddenly seen flying directly up toward the center of the vortex.
The woman’s long hair whipped around her shoulders like silk, her posture completely straight and unyielding as she took a solid stand right on top of the moving clouds, positioned perfectly as if she were preparing to launch a mortal assault against the sky itself.
Lin Wan’s jaw went slack, her analytical mind completely frozen by the impossible sight. ’What the hell?’ she thought, her voice stuck in her throat. ’So there are actual high-level cultivators hidden in this primitive lower realm too? But who on earth could possibly have the power to fight the literal heavens?’ 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The answer to her question was instantly slapped directly into her face.
The elegant woman in blue didn’t hesitate for a single second. With a fierce, resonant battle cry that vibrated through the atmosphere, she rushed straight forward into the thick of the purple vortex, disappearing entirely out of view.
For the next five grueling hours, Lin Wan was subjected to the most terrifying display of raw power she had ever witnessed. The sky didn’t drop a single drop of rain.
Instead, the only sounds that echoed across the dark world were the deafening, bone-shattering strikes of divine gold lightning colliding against a powerful core shield, accompanied by the fierce, earth shattering battle cries of the woman fighting hidden within the clouds.
The air pressure was so immense that Lin Wan had to sit down directly on the wooden steps of her porch, using her teleportation talisman as a passive shield just to keep from being crushed by the residual shockwaves.
After five long, agonizing hours, the violent purple vortex finally began to tear apart. The heavy, dark clouds slowly thinned, dissolving into a calm, regular night sky as the heavy pressure over the planet completely melted away into nothingness.
Lin Wan sat perfectly still on the wooden chair in front of her dark house, her face completely expressionless, her eyes locked onto the sky as a faint blue light began to descend from the atmosphere.
The elegant figure in the blue gauze wear fluttered down gracefully through the air, her boots landing silently onto the dirt of the courtyard right in front of the porch.
Her clothes were slightly torn, her breathing even, and as she lifted her head to look at Lin Wan, the dim moonlight caught her sharp, striking features.
Lin Wan’s breath caught, her heart skipping a violent beat as she stared at the stranger’s face.
The woman standing before her was the exact, undeniable female version of Wang.
It was Wang’s mother.
