Chapter 345: Online Promotion

Everyone at Shengbai Mall goes there for coffee.

Hearing Consultant Linda’s words, Chen Mo fell silent.

There were a lot of people in that mall. If they were all going to Nanhe Coffee for their drinks, that was no small amount of revenue.

He glanced at the cup of coffee Linda handed him and sighed inwardly. This single cup had earned him fifty yuan.

Hmm.

Wait a second.

This flavor at Nanhe Coffee was priced at eighty-eight yuan.

With that thought, he casually lifted the coffee and walked out of the custom suit shop, his expression unreadable.

“President Chen, it seems our coffee is quite popular in this mall,” Shen Rou said cheerfully, glancing at the Nanhe Coffee in her hand.

Chen Mo said nothing and headed straight for a leather shoe store in the distance, where he bought four pairs of shoes.

These weren’t custom-made; he simply tried on a few pairs and picked four that fit well.

The total came to 150,000 yuan.

Next, he went to a watch store and picked out a watch for 60,000 yuan. After that, he bought a few ties and other work-related items, spending another 40,000 yuan.

After this round of shopping, he had pretty much bought everything he could.

He did a quick tally. He had only spent 650,000 yuan.

He hadn’t even hit a million. That was way too little.

Chen Mo frowned slightly.

No, this wouldn’t do.

He had to find a way to spend more. He needed to at least hit the one million mark. Otherwise, after spending so much time shopping, it would feel like a waste.

He looked around the mall, searching for more places where he could spend money.

Eventually, his gaze landed on a fountain pen store in the distance. It was an old and well-established brand, and the prices weren’t cheap.

Fountain pens.

Those were office essentials too, right?

Chen Mo silently asked the system, and seeing that it didn’t object, he knew it was within the allowed range.

Since that was the case, what was there to hesitate about? He immediately headed into the fountain pen store with Shen Rou.

“Sir, is there anything I can help you with?” a store clerk came up to greet him.

“I’m here to buy pens,” Chen Mo said casually as he glanced around the store.

“Please follow me, sir. May I ask what price range you’re looking for?”

As the clerk led the way, she asked the question offhandedly.

“Ten thousand per pen,” Chen Mo replied.

That was the highest price he had tested and confirmed with the system.

The clerk paused, clearly surprised, and gave Chen Mo a quick glance before quickly changing direction and leading him to a different display case.

“Sir, the pens in this case are all around ten thousand yuan each.”

Chen Mo looked down at the display. About ten pens were arranged inside, each with its own unique design.

After a quick glance, he picked one that was priced exactly at ten thousand.

“Sir, would you like this one for sure?”

“Yes.”

“And how many would you like to buy?”

“Two…” Chen Mo started to say, but then paused.

If he could use a fountain pen for work, then surely the company’s managers could use them too.

Since they could use them, it wouldn’t be too much to give each of them one, right?

After all, having a quality pen made a strong impression when signing documents or contracts.

With that thought, he considered it for a moment and changed his answer.

“Make it fifty.”

The system had allowed him to buy two for himself. The managers could each have one. And Shen Rou, as his personal assistant, definitely needed one too. Then there were other key positions in the company.

Like the group’s Chief Financial Officer, Tang Qiu the Legal Director, the HR Director…

These were all important roles. How could they not have a pen that symbolized their status?

After calculating, fifty pens would be just right. At ten thousand each, that would be 500,000 yuan.

When he had the thought, the system didn’t stop him.

Chen Mo couldn’t help but feel speechless.

It was starting to feel like the system wasn’t really his, but belonged to his employees.

Old employees like Wei Yan and Fang Chang already had personal assets that surpassed his, the president of the entire group.

“Uh, sir, did you mean five pens or fifty?” the clerk asked uncertainly, looking at Chen Mo.

She thought she must have misheard. Fifty pens? That couldn’t be right.

“Fifty. Not five,” Chen Mo confirmed with a nod.

The clerk froze for a moment, her brain briefly short-circuiting, but quickly recovered.

“Please wait a moment, sir. I’ll get them packed for you right away.”

With that, she hurried into the back of the store.

A short while later,

Chen Mo walked out carrying a large bag of fountain pens, which he handed to Shen Rou, who was walking beside him.

“President Chen, what are all these pens for?” Shen Rou asked curiously as she took the bag.

“They’re for the company staff. One of them is yours. When we get back, arrange for someone to distribute them. I’ll give you the list later,” Chen Mo said, then headed toward the elevator.

There was nothing else in the mall worth spending on.

No reason to stick around any longer.

Shen Rou looked down at the pens in her hand, a wave of emotion rising in her heart. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

President Chen really was good to his employees. Just like that, he was giving away pens worth ten thousand yuan each.

Linshui City,

Teacher-training university,

Girls’ Dormitory.

Liu Weiwei and Yang Yaoyao had just wrapped up their live streams for the day and exited the streaming room.

“Yaoyao, someone already picked up the task!”

Liu Weiwei glanced at her phone, her face lighting up with excitement as she looked over at Yang Yaoyao.

“How many people?”

“Just two. They’re from the same city, probably working together.”

“Two is already great! The task was just posted not long ago. As long as someone takes it, it proves this method can work.”

Yang Yaoyao nodded in agreement.

Ever since their last trip to another city to promote Boring Short Video, they had realized that going city to city for promotion was incredibly inefficient. It took up too much time, and if they wanted to promote Boring Short Video on a larger scale, they had no idea how long it would take at that pace.

Not long after they returned, they received a call from someone at the Boring Short Video platform.

After a detailed conversation, a manager named Li Shen suggested they try promoting through online task postings.

Intrigued, they began researching how online task platforms worked.

In the end, they found it to be a highly viable option. While the results might not be as impactful as promoting in person, the speed of spreading the word was undoubtedly much faster than traveling from city to city.

After all, when they went to other cities to promote, they had to prepare a lot—schedules, routes, timing… All of that took a tremendous amount of time and effort.

But posting tasks online was a completely different story. All they had to do was go to a task platform, publish the task, and clearly explain the requirements. That was it.
