I Reincarnated as The Protagonist's Best Friend
Chapter 65: Hunig Hall
Quash arrived in front of the Hunig Hall, which is basically the building beneath the clock tower.
Paparazzi were swarming the entrance taking photos, trying to get the best shot. A red carpet led up to the door where Guards with armour stood. They opened the door for the students.
Quash couldn’t help but chuckle at the situation. The Academy City was blatantly saying that strength speaks. The stronger you are, the better you are treated.
But still, he knew about it and is one of the Active participants of that system. Who is he to complain? He can do nothing else other than to enjoy the irony.
Quash made his way to the door, cameras flashing as he walked down the red carpet. There were many other students who were going in as well. But Quash stood out because of his elegant wear. He looked out of place.
Where people wore normal clothes, he was wearing high-end luxurious ones. But instead of him feeling out of place for being well dressed, it was the other students who felt out of place.
They were affected by his confidence and how he didn’t even bother with anyone. He entered the Hunig Hall in one fell swoop. After Quash entered the hall, it was time for him to find his seat. Which was in the front rows. The Hunig Hall is basically an Auditorium, two floors from the inside, can hold up to 5,000 people.
Only the Top 5000 are invited, the rest, they can watch from wherever they are. And if any of the Top 5,000 has a partner that is not among the Top 5,000, they need to inform the staff and a pair of seats will be arranged for them. And they must sit only there, nowhere else.
There are projections at the front of the Hunig Hall as well. For the people to watch with the feeling of getting a live view since they are standing in front of the building.
Quash made his way towards the front rows. The area was relatively dark. Soft light illuminating the seats while the stage was lit up bright. So that everyone’s focus stays there.
He was descending down the stairs, and even from here, he could see people already sitting there. There were 100 thrones, 3 elevated from the rest. The normal Audience seats started significantly behind them. Indicating their status and importance.
Quash arrived shortly and found his seat, it was more of a throne. Beside him, on the 21st throne, was seated the Barbarian. The Barbarian nodded at Quash and he nodded back. Sizing up the Barbarian, he wondered how he managed to fit his big ass in that small place?
And is that the reason he wasn’t moving? It was possible.
Quash looked around and saw almost everyone among the Top 100 had arrived. The normal Audience seats were slowly filling in. Clamours of people slowly intensifying.
Quash looked towards the Throne of the Rank 1, he was very curious to see this girl, or woman. Who knows. Vampires have different ways to count their age.
In the novel, Khahum had dubbed her the most beautiful woman in history. Wasted 3 paragraphs of words to describe her beauty, which he had skipped, and countless words throughout the story on how people were after her. How many admirers she had, blah blah blah blah.
And when he looked over, the simping certainly was on point. She certainly is the most beautiful existence he had seen in his life.
She had long white hair that reached her knees. Blood red eyes. A common trait among the Vampires. And a face...
(A/N: Basically, I will leave it to your imagination because I’m not good with describing people☝🤓)
She was leaning on the armrest, looking bored. A fang was poking out of her mouth, making her look even more charming. She had the Dragon Prince trying to suck up to her, and some other dude, who is the 3rd Rank, trying to get her to talk to him.
He figured that the 3rd Rank must be from some noble family as well. Other males also fidgeted in their seats but dared not to approach the Princess because of the threat of the Dragon Prince.
But the 3rd Rank ignoring that meant he was from a powerful background as well and didn’t fear the Dragon Prince.
’He looks familiar. Is he Eleanor’s brother?’
He wondered, he remembered there was something mentioned in the novel about that guy but he was too insignificant to the plot and Quash himself that he forgot.
An Extra to the boot.
"Hmm?"
Suddenly, the Vampire Princess turned her eyes towards him and their eyes met. Her glowing Blood red eyes stared into his Ruby eyes. Feeling that it will be awkward if he just moved his gaze away like he was caught stealing, he gave a small nod. And to his surprise, she nodded back.
The Dragon Prince was looking back and forth between them. His expression dark. Quash was also looking over with a blank expression. Never in his life had he thought that the aloof Vampire Princess would respond back, when she ignored almost everyone.
Suddenly, an idea struck Quash. His eyes lit up in realisation, he flashed a smug smile towards the Dragon Prince, showing all his perfect teeth for dramatic effect.
And as expected, it had immediate effects. Quash nodded in satisfaction when the Dragon Prince looked like he had stepped on shit.
’Yea. That’s what you get for calling me insect- no. Calling my friend an insect! This is salvation! Not revenge! I’m not petty!’
Feeling satisfied with his self-gloating, Quash leaned back on his throne.
"Quash! How are you?"
But just as he was about to fall into deep imagination of who knows what, he was disturbed, he frowned and found Eleanor smiling at him. Standing there elegantly with someone else.
Alicia Fruma.
Alicia had a look of displeasure, like she didn’t like him one bit.
He wondered why. Wasn’t she supposed to be a talent hoarder. Was there something wrong with his reading skills when he was reading?
He couldn’t tell. But he greeted Eleanor back. She complimented his looks and he complimented back. Alicia sat next to him, on the 19th throne.
’Ah. Is that why?’
He wondered if she has androphobia or what. But he didn’t bother with her because Eleanor just exchanged seats with the Barbarian and she was sitting right next to him.
"I just wanted to stay close to my friends."
She said feeling Quash’s gaze. He didn’t refute because she has a point. But is seat exchange even allowed? But whatever, not his problem. Eleanor and Quash started to chat again while Alicia would occasionally click her tongue in annoyance and Eleanor would try to add her into their conversation.
But she would quickly quiet down because she had no idea what they were talking about.
As they were chatting, the event started.
