In The Apocalypse With My Sacred Dimension System
Chapter 187: There’s No More Safe Place
It was actually quite tricky for Theodore to drive his car at this time because the number of zombies running after their car had started to increase. At first, there were only a few zombies in front of the north gate, and it wasn’t tricky for Theodore.
But, when Theodore drove his car into the streets of city A, the number of zombies on the streets was far more than what was in front of the north gate.
Plus now that it was nighttime, the aggressiveness level of these zombies was higher than during the day. If they could not find a safe place as soon as possible Theodore would have to use a magic scroll so that they could survive the night.
"Have you still not found a safe place, Geoffrey?" Theodore also glanced at Geoffrey briefly. He still had to focus on driving this car.
"I didn’t expect there to be so many zombies here, but it’s hard for me to find a safe place for us," Geoffrey replied, cold sweat dripping from his temples.
Geoffrey was originally very confident that he could find a safe place for them easily, it was just that he had underestimated the current situation and he did not expect that the increase in the number of zombies would be this high.
Theodore finally thought that he needed to use his magic scroll as he could feel that their car wouldn’t last much longer with the onslaught of zombies that started slamming their bodies into his car.
"Roxanne, can you replace me? I need to do something, otherwise this car will be destroyed," Theodore said with a tense face.
"But how can I replace you?!" Roxanne also looked panicked because their car was currently traveling very fast.
Theodore took Roxanne’s hand and placed it on the side of the steering wheel, then he slowly shifted his body to the side so that there was a gap for Roxanne to take over his position. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
With a lot of tension, they finally managed to exchange positions with only a little disturbance. Actually, it wasn’t that little because the car almost crashed into the ruins of the building on the road.
Fortunately, Roxanne was able to control the steering wheel quickly and save their lives that night.
While Theodore himself didn’t have time to worry about that, he immediately took out a magic scroll from within the sacred dimension and immediately cast a spell to activate the magic scroll.
"At least this way we can survive longer until we find a safe enough place to rest," Theodore said after finishing using the magic scroll on their car.
"What are you doing?" Roxanne realized that the zombies that were initially clinging tightly to their car were starting to be beaten back and the new zombies could not get close to their car as it was blocked by an invisible wall.
"I just used a magic scroll to protect this car," Theodore replied calmly.
Roxanne and Geoffrey, who heard that, also looked at Theodore with disbelieving gazes. At first, Roxanne thought that the higher-ups were overreacting, but after seeing firsthand what Theodore could do, she felt that it was only natural for the higher-ups to pursue Theodore.
"No wonder why they’re after your power," Roxanne said as she shook her head.
"That’s why I chose to escape from that place," Theodore replied with a sigh.
Even though Theodore had used his magic scroll, he couldn’t stay still at the moment because, eventually, their numbers would continue to grow and make it difficult for them to continue their journey because the roads were covered with the bodies of these damn zombies.
"Roxanne helped me to open the roof of this car. I need to kill the zombies that are starting to block our way," Theodore said, then asked Roxanne to help him.
"Are you sure? What if the zombie jumps up and attacks you suddenly?" Roxanne glanced at Theodore through the rearview mirror worriedly.
"No need to worry, remember I’ve already used the magic scroll," Theodore replied with a soothing smile on his face.
"I didn’t know that the effect could reach outside the car. Then fine, I’ll open the roof immediately," Roxanne said, nodding her head in understanding.
After hearing that, Theodore took out the crossbow he had used earlier, as well as some special arrows that were still left over from the previous attack.
Geoffrey, who saw what Theodore was doing silently, began to wonder what he would do this time.
Theodore began to do what he and Cassian had done before when they exterminated the zombies roaming in front of the west gate.
For starters Theodore shot an ice arrow and made the horde of zombies at their side freeze instantly, he quickly continued by shooting a fire arrow that instantly melted the zombies into pieces.
"Shit! What are you doing, sis?!" Geoffrey’s eyes rounded perfectly as he saw what Theodore was currently doing.
"Otherwise it would be hard to kill them all at once," Theodore said while chuckling softly.
Theodore thought he needed to use spread arrows or fire arrows alone to finish off the zombies on the front side of their car because if he used ice arrows, it would be very dangerous as their vehicle was travelling very fast at the moment.
"Geoffrey keeps looking for a safe place and directs Roxanne to that place later, for the time being I have to take care of these zombies." Theodore again reminded Geoffrey to do his job.
"Take it easy. I’ve found a safe place, it’s just that the location is quite far from our current position," Geoffrey explained, quite confident in his abilities.
After that Geoffrey and Roxanne worked together to bring them to safety, while Theodore was still busy shooting his magic arrows to finish off the zombies that blocked their way.
. . .
Around 2 AM, they finally reached a large house in the border area between City A and City D; luckily, Geoffrey was able to find this place so they could rest for a while today.
At first, Theodore wasn’t too sure about this house they were staying in; it was indeed tranquil around the place, and there were only a few zombies seen on the streets, but he felt pretty strange when he saw that there were only a few zombies in this place.
"Isn’t it strange that there are so few zombies here?" Theodore finally voiced his concern.
"I deliberately looked for a place with few zombies, so naturally you can’t see many zombies here," Geoffrey replied with an innocent face.
"That’s right. Then try to enter the house, check all the rooms carefully, don’t miss any details. Take this sword with you," Theodore told Geoffrey and Roxanne to inspect the house.
Meanwhile, Theodore chose to close the high fence that the house had to prevent the zombies outside from getting in there.
It’s just that when Theodore had just finished taking care of the fence problem, he heard a scream from inside the house.
