Chapter 123: Territory Scan

"Permission granted." The moment Seth gave the go-ahead, he felt a slight tug on his very essence.

And surprisingly enough, unlike when he tried to mobilize his essence himself, the restriction watch never blared, just remaining dull through the whole process.

Seth’s eyes flashed. The only reason it could be like this was because his own essence mobilization was far too crude in comparison.

He silently noted this aspect of himself that needed improvement. Before now, he never thought much of his essence channeling.

His eyes trailed back to the now brilliantly flashing emerald.

[Grand Terrain Scan Activating...]

Seth watched in bated breath, his eyes filled with curiosity as the emerald suddenly pulsed.

A brilliant wave of pure emerald essence swept forth. It was light on the atmosphere, even more docile than when his Shackled rank essence was released.

No one would ever imagine the essence of an Awakened could be distilled into the atmosphere with such delicate control.

Seth was flabbergasted at how finely refined his own essence felt right now, and how delicate it was being on the world around it.

The cadence of emerald swept through the whole of the Aegis Safe Zone, covering thousands of miles in its range.

Leaving Seth’s room, the pure concentration of essence diffused so much it wasn’t visible or detectable to most.

Except the highly perceptive — or his teammates.

And when the range had been fully secured, the oracle sent a rippling wave through.

Like a drop of water beating against the still placid surface of a lake, sending out a rippling current...

[Found one! A Rift Tide Alloy located, 3006 miles from here...]

[Another spotted, 1600 miles across the ocean, and 70 kilometers deep under the seabed...]

[Another spotted...]

And it kept listing and listing.

One would think that such a valuable alloy would be so rare.

Seth’s face finally lit up with glee. This was perfect. Now all he had to do was wait till tomorrow, and based on their route he’d pick a suitable spot to extract.

And now, with one problem solved, Seth could finally focus on another notification that he had been closely scrutinizing since their meeting with the president began.

"After all that corruption seed fed, it still hasn’t undergone an upgrade." Seth lamented as he stared at the screen in his retinas.

He had delayed their journey here by another week just to take his time and clear seven corruption zones on the way, feeding their cores to the flash sale.

But the system still showed no sign of improvement after gobbling up seven whole corruption seeds.

[Next Flash Sale for Dyson’s Mecha Crafting Index 1 in: 00h: 3m: 09s]

[Detail available on purchase...]

Seth was really interested in what this would actually hold. Crafting mechas sounded quite interesting.

He patiently waited it out...

Recently, Seth didn’t even care about the prices anymore. To him, it might as well be free.

His figure plowed through the purchase button, and the timer froze as a gold flashing congratulations screen unraveled.

He didn’t waste time delving into the details.

[Details: Dyson, the father of all mechs, the greatest pioneer of the mecha industry in the cosmos, left a legacy before his death. His Indexes had been scoured by great figures across the cosmos, but they still remained unfound! This is one of mine Index.]

[Warning: This work requires a staggering amount of intelligence and time investment to decipher!]

Seth’s eyes flashed after reading. ’Sigh... I will have to be donating this...’ he decided immediately.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t possibly take his time to unravel and decipher this inheritance, but it was that he didn’t have the time.

From his pending exploration of the Origin Realm to the racial battle that was about to occur, Seth wouldn’t have time to sort this out.

It would be too arrogant and foolish of him to even assume he could do so. The next best way to profit from this was to hand it over.

Fortunately, he had determined that the US government seemed to have their hearts in the right place after the apocalypse.

Though they were ambitious, trying to single-handedly unite the world — even if there might be personal interests behind that — he supported it because it gave humanity the next best chance.

And if the research department of the military could unravel this Index, not only would he benefit, but the whole of human society would too.

Not to mention the fact that it would give them an edge over other nations, making uniting the world even easier.

He summoned the Cannon, and surprisingly it was just like a normal personal logbook.

Flipping through the pages, he could see unfamiliar text in linguistics unseen before, scribbled across the pages.

But what was so interesting was the fact that he could still read them, as each character seemed to relay a distinct will fluctuation that his brain automatically translated into words.

"Phenomenal..." Seth praised as he flipped through the book.

And indeed, it looked like the normal scribbling of a human scientist or engineer right before the apocalypse, plus a few drawings.

Seth’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed hard, examining these sketches...

’If we can truly decipher how to craft these, it would be a game changer...’ Seth’s eyes shone the more he flipped through.

From the rough meaning he had gotten so far, he could tell that mechas seemed to be gene armaments — not just any gene armaments, but ones that echoed gene structures of titan-class creatures!!!

Seth’s heart hammered. After having a brief talk with Jack previously, how could he not understand what titan-class creatures were?

Heck, even his own Asura body was being forged under the concept of titan-class.

But if humanity as a whole could harness the prowess of this... hisss! He drew in a mouthful of cold air at the thought.

And not only that — if humans could decipher this, with how innovative the human mind could become, there was no question a new world of craft would be open to engineers and scientists.

These professions might once more become vital pillars of society...

He slammed the book shut before he got any more immersed inside. Even he could already feel the budding urge to just throw everything away and focus his all on this.

But his true thrill-seeking nature would never allow this, so he reined the new desire in.

He dismissed the Cannon back into his inventory.

Then he lifted his head to stare at the oracle crystal...

"How can I manipulate essence more delicately and efficiently like you?"
