Chapter 11: Lightning Primarch

"Alright. If you need any more help, you can ask us." Andrew nodded his head and returned to his own flat.

Lucien closed the door and went to check on her progress and whether she had any difficulties in understanding something.

Sure, he might not have an ice-related talent, but he could provide some moral support at the very least.

Though he had to drop that idea when he found her still locked inside her room for more than three hours, from the moment she had awakened.

"Never mind." He glanced at the watch, only to find a lot of time remaining before he could pull another gacha, and he knew exactly where to pour that time into.

Time to train.

He pulled himself back into his room, closed the door, and sat down on the ground in a lotus position.

Training telekinesis was necessary, as it was his main ability. But he needed to figure out something else before that, he needed to find out how to grow stronger.

Despite not reaching the peak of what he could do currently with his ability, he could still feel the ceiling that he would eventually hit.

I need to increase my strength.

Only when his Combat Power increased would he be able to use his telekinesis more easily and efficiently.

And that was the road he didn’t know how to walk on.

For others, eating mutated sea-creatures or other animals is the main method of increasing their strength, but he had already made his decision not to consume anything related to the Black Water, and he still stood by that belief.

Having no fixed or known method to work with, he only had one last option left.

"Cultivation."

It sounded absurd, or probably was. Yet the fact that what they consumed was not an awakening crystal but a spiritual fruit made him try it out.

He sat on the ground, tried to empty his thoughts and focus on anything different that he could feel moving throughout his body, or the meridians, or whatever that was called in those novels.

Minutes kept passing by, but he found nothing abnormal inside his body.

Remembering that this was his last option, he decided to give it another try and passed almost two hours doing nothing but sitting while trying to feel something that he wasn’t even sure actually existed.

The boredom kept growing stronger, preventing him from focusing solely on the imaginary vein-like pathways that he knew would be needed for cultivation.

Were those novels even legit?

In this boredom, he proceeded to shift his thoughts to other locations around his body and when his focus locked onto his lower abdomen, he felt a faint presence of a hollow core right below his navel.

His breath got caught inside his throat in anticipation, but he couldn’t discern anything besides the fact that it was a hollow core-like structure.

"Do I need a breathing technique?" Though the air wasn’t the source of spiritual energy.

Did it mean all of that hard work was for nothing?

He exhaled a soft sigh in resignation and was about to open his eyes when he felt something inside his core.

It was faint, almost impossible to detect if not for his constant hours-long concentration inside his own body.

And what he discovered froze him.

The food that should’ve been digesting inside his stomach normally was releasing microscopic traces of spiritual energy towards his core.

This meant that the system was providing him with food containing traces of spiritual energy.

Unfortunately, it was far from enough.

The inside of his core showed no visible changes, meaning the amount was too minuscule to make a difference.

I can’t rely on this. This core gets filled from the remains of pure spiritual energy present inside the mutated creatures.

Which meant... he had to eat the very creatures he had decided to avoid.

"Or I can rely on my system... but till when? Till how many times?" He had no answer.

Shaking his head, he turned towards the clock.

The hour hand on the clock had already passed the 12 mark long ago.

It was time to pull the legendary reward.

As usual, fireworks burst before his eyes, except this time, they were golden in color, different from when he had pulled the rare or common tier rewards.

---

[Congratulations! You have obtained SSS-grade Talent (Lightning Primarch)]

----

Before he could react, a buzzing sensation surged throughout his body.

"This is insa—" His words cut off mid-sentence as the faint sparks of lightning coursed through him multiple times before settling around his core.

It left him with a weird sensation as if someone was inspecting his naked body.

The previous hollow core was now wrapped in a faint layer of thunderous energy, looking extremely domineering and majestic.

The entire process lasted only a few minutes, and he felt no pain unlike when he had during the awakening.

A surge of exhilaration coursed through him, and he immediately rubbed two of his fingers against each other to create tiny arcs of electricity that crackled softly.

"This is ridiculous." To be honest, he had been slightly jealous seeing Evelyn awaken an s-rank talent, but who wouldn’t be?

Now, he too had an elemental talent whose rank was leagues above hers, not to mention lightning itself seemed to possess the most oppressive nature out of all elements.

Still, he couldn’t be sure unless he saw other talents for himself.

He immediately conjured his status screen to view the changes.

[Name: Lucien Hayes]

[Race: Human]

[Talent: SSS-grade Talent(Lightning Primarch), B-grade Talent(Telekinesis)]

[Combat Power: D+]

[Gacha Tickets: 2]

---

The new talent had instantly increased his Combat Power, providing him with two more gacha tickets to use.

Regardless, he knew that at the end of the day, talents represented nothing but potential.

So he needed to figure out soon how to fill his core that now appeared nearly seventy percent full after the talent integrated with his body.

"Before that, I should check out what I am capable of with this abnormally powerful talent."
