Infinite Sharing System: Cultivating With My Sister In The Apocalypse
Chapter 40: New Qi Type
<Ding!>
<You have absorbed Demonic Qi!>
<The Boundless Void Physique has filtered the Demonic Qi!>
<New Qi Type unlocked: Demonic Qi>
Xuan, although exhausted, still couldn’t help his curiosity as he pressed on the Qi type option, and in an instant, an interface appeared.
<Absorbable Qi Types>
[Time Qi, Space Qi, Death Qi, (NEW) Demonic Qi]
<Notice: If you achieve sufficient mastery in any of the Qi Types, you may utilize it as an affinity.>
<Do you wish to view your comprehension of each Qi Type? Yes / No>
My head’s spinning... Xuan thought with a sigh, and pressed ’Yes,’ displaying another interface.
<Qi Type Comprehension>
[Time Qi - Beginner - 0.15%]
[Space Qi - Beginner - 1.52%]
[Death Qi - Beginner - 0.37%]
[Demonic Qi - Beginner - 0.01%]
<Notice: You are unable to utilize any Qi Types at the current moment.>
Ouch. Xuan chuckled. But I was in empty Space and I survived, while also cultivating there... just how do these affinities work anyway?
He was sure Void Qi was an affinity, so what use were the other Qi Types?
Yet the moment he had that thought, his eyes widened in realization.
Isn’t Void Qi just a combination of all those Qi Types? So the more I improve them, the stronger my Void Qi will become.
Since his Space Qi comprehension was the highest, his Void Qi-infused fists tore open space slightly.
But that meant if he were to raise his comprehension of the other Qi Types, then their effects would begin to show more prominently.
So with those thoughts in mind, Xuan set a short-term goal for himself.
I want to reach at least 10% Comprehension in all Qi Types within a year.
And just like that, his focus once again traveled toward the flashing interface.
[Ding!]
[The Dimensional Gate has successfully undergone a rupture.]
[Frost Demon Dimensional Gate is being reset, please wait...]
Xuan smiled, his fatigue finally kicking in as he felt his consciousness begin to slip away. After all, he had exhausted his Qi, and now his body was suffering the backlash.
Still, he made sure to continue releasing his Void Qi as the familiar sensation of his body being pulled elsewhere continued. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Thankfully, it didn’t last long as he soon saw a bright flash of light, and a moment later, he felt the soft sensation of wind that progressively grew fiercer.
And when his vision returned fully, Xuan realized he was hurtling down from the sky.
He forcefully turned his body in a hurry and spotted a large stone temple below him, with tiled roofs stretching across several mountains.
It was similar to the Azure Sky sect grounds; however, it was situated on a tall mountain range, surrounded by nothing but snow and rocks.
The temple had several giant bells scattered on each mountain peak, and he could even see a few statues of monks in all sorts of poses, some even praying.
And even from this high up, the strong scent of incense and pine reached Xuan, making his body relax momentarily.
Yet when he was just a few hundred meters away from splattering like a bug, he tensed his body, and with what remained of his Void Qi, Xuan proceeded to Void Step toward the temple in front of him, crashing into one of the massive bells and falling right beside it.
A loud sound rang out, and a moment later, Xuan saw many bald-headed monks wearing orange Daoist robes step out of every part of the temple and glare at him suspiciously.
But, given the circumstances, Xuan simply rose to his feet and approached the edge of the bell platform.
Then, he raised both his arms, signifying surrender.
And with that, he fell forward, tumbling down a few steps and blacking out under the gaze of hundreds of monks.
.
.
.
(Less than a minute later, Grand Jade Temple, inside the Inner Court,)
[Head Monk Huizhen’s POV]
The radiant sun shone through the gaps in the ceiling, illuminating Huizhen’s paperwork, all the while monks of all positions ran through the halls, preparing to deal with the commotion.
He was a man who, despite his title as one of the three Head Monks, did not focus much on mastering his fist techniques. However, even in the upper realms, he was seen as a genius.
Huizhen could master any fist technique upon seeing it once, and because of that, he rose to be one of the elders of the Jade Temple in the upper realms.
But due to his laziness and lack of a long-term goal, Huizhen turned to teaching the younger generation.
He hopped from world to world, and now, he was forced to overlook this infant world for a year until its next ascension, after which he would move on to another infant world.
Huizhen tapped the quill on the parchment a couple of times, and as he was about to return to filling the document, his door swung open as a monk rushed inside.
"Senior Huizhen!" The monk bowed swiftly. "W-We couldn’t interrogate the intruder since he passed out after hitting our main bell... We can’t detect his Qi either, and Head Monk Foyan thinks the intruder is a spy from the demonic forces!"
Huizhen’s brows furrowed. "A spy from the demonic forces is a serious accusation. Bring the intruder to my chambers immediately. I will inspect his body personally."
The monk bowed once more and, without saying a word, left the room in a hurry.
As for Huizhen, he leaned back, rubbing his forehead in annoyance.
"Work... just when I thought I could take a break..." he mumbled under his nose.
And that was when two monks rushed through his door again, carrying a tall black-haired man, and without warning, tossing him onto the couch beside Huizhen’s desk.
"This is the intruder, Senior Huizhen!" the monk from before said. "Head Monk Foyan said he will come visit later and that you must have come to a decision of what to do with the intruder by then."
