Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight
Chapter 117 Shrine Maiden
’Are these losers just camp potential spots that Prime Train dropped its passengers down?’
Carter tilted his head slightly. He was unfazed and observed the Primers in front of him.
’Primers’, they called. But these looked like peasants. They wore ancient eastern clothes with no pants at all, only a bunch of cloth bundled together into what could barely be called underwear.
And the Skin System came up just as usual.
[WILD EARTH WORLD DETECTED]
[SHRINE MAIDEN ACQUIRED]
’Shrine Maiden? Maiden? Is this a female skin?’
Carter ignored the system for now and turned his head toward the Primers.
"Are you wearing a loincloth?" Carter chuckled.
The Primer flushed in anger. "Damn you, rich bastard. Live here for a few years and you understand how hard it is!"
"Mug them!" Another called.
They rushed at Carted. He was completely distracted. His eyes glazed upon the rusty metal piece they used the machetes.
’Isn’t that just junk? These are poor Primers.’
Suddenly, Carter disappeared from where he was.
"What?" The front Primer widened his eyes. Then he covered his neck, stopping blood from coming out.
Carter moved so fast, he snatched the blade out of the Primer’s hand and cut his neck with it.
"You... Awaken?" The man dropped dead.
"Awaken? Pfft! I am an Elite!"
The Primers skipped a heartbeat. An Elite was middle management level in Prime. They shouldn’t be riding Prime Train, that was too costly. Most Elite used their own interdimensional pathway in their home world.
They only registered fear for a blink of an eye before dropping dead. They didn’t even understand what had happened.
’Not even one single Prime Coin. Mortal Primer? And yet they’re brave enough to rob people. Stupidity is unlimited.’
Carter threw the blade down then walked away. He went behind a tree.
[SILVER INVOKER EQUIPPED]
This world’s theme matched Ginro’s personality and potential lore. Carter intended to use it as his main identity in this world.
Similar to how Carter Caine was his main identity in Eldritch Arms and Dr. Frankenstein in Corrupted Corps.
’I think Corrupted Corps is unconquered as well. I should find a way to get its World Key.’
<-199 Prime Coins>
<+1 Dimensional Translator>
Carter bought the language USB stick like last time, ready to learn this world’s tongue. He used Twin Formation to turn into a bird and fly away.
Silver Invoker may not be the strongest. But its utility was very high. It allowed him to fly even in the day. He didn’t need to use Terror Bat again.
However, maintaining animal form strained his body and mind. He couldn’t stay in it for too long.
’Should be enough time for me to find a nearby town. Then... Learn their language, find the place with the most supernatural beings and start.’
Carter flew for half a day. This desert was incredibly large. He traced the trails left behind by the previous Primer and found a small town with not many houses in it.
"Hmm."
The bird looked around. It noticed a woodcutter leaving the nearby forest.
Carter landed near him, turned back into human and gave him a soft smack to knock him out.
He plunged the Translator into the woodcutter’s neck.
’Hmm? No reading knowledge? Only hearing and speaking knowledge of the language. This man doesn’t know how to read. I guess I have to use it for now.’
One Dimensional Translator was wasted. And he didn’t even get all the language.
Carter carried the woodcutter on his shoulder. His other hand held the bundle of woods that the man had been collecting all day.
Carter entered the town openly. A woman that was playing with her daughter gasped. She grabbed the kid and ran inside her house.
Carter’s current appearance was not kind. A large scar, silver hair, and a pair of eyebrows that so sharp it might pierce a cloth.
He continued walking. People kept running away.
Carter stopped in the middle of the town and laid the woodcutter down gently.
He then sat down with his legs wrapped in the front. A traditional Eastern style sit.
Carter waited. Then noise came.
’Here they are...’
From the perspective of the villagers, an unknown scary man entered the village. He had Choji the Woodcutter on his shoulder, dead or alive.
That was enough for them to see him as an enemy.
A group of men circled him. Each had a farming tool on them as a weapon.
No one here was a warrior.
"What do you want?!" A native pointed a scythe at Carter. Not the large oversized scythe like Skeleton Knight but a small grass-cutting scythe.
"My name is Ginro Musashi. I am just a traveler. I found this man fainted in the woods so I carry him back. You can check him."
Carter stood up and stepped back from the man.
The villager looked each other in confusion. One brave man approached the woodcutter and checked him.
"He’s alright!"
The entire village sighed in relief. They lowered their weapons.
"Please accept our apology for such reaction. We have encountered many bandits recently."
"Bandits? In this middle of nowhere?"
Carter looked around. This place had nothing. House made of leaves. Fences that would break if a strong wind come by. Their clothes couldn’t even shield them from sunlight completely.
The villager nodded. "We have some outsiders that claimed they would help us for a few bronze coins. Once they finished whatever they were doing."
’These outsiders are probably the Primers.’
"I can help you get rid of the bandits for free. I just need a place to stay for the night." Carter said.
"Nothing else?" The villager blinked his eyes.
"A little bit of food would be nice. And I guarantee you, these bandits will be taken care of."
Carter clenched his fist. Fire wrapped around the fist as he slammed it on the ground.
"Woah!" The villager gasped in awe.
"Are you a Fighter, mister?" A kid yelled out from afar.
Carter smiled and nodded. "You can say that."
The villager in front of him scratched his head, "I didn’t know you were the noble Fighter. Please come with me to see our elder. He decides everything in our village."
"Reasonable." Carter nodded.
