There was an extended moment of silence after Michael asked the question. None of the two that were listening had any doubt that Michael would do that.

For Kate, she had seen first hand as Michael killed the majority of the Shadow assembly gang back in Drenn city. And as his accomplice back then, she had no qualms when it came to dealing with someone like Jackson.

He was being controlled, yes, but, did some of his victims deserve to be killed? And, he was willing to target them with the intention to kill. Therefore, he should have prepared for the consequences after failing.

Almost a minute later, Jackson finally spoke. While gazing into Michael’s eyes, he asked, "You’re not worried about them coming after you? After all, I consumed quite a lot of their resources, and I’m still under a contract. So, I’m still being used for research, though not as much as before I became a mutant."

Michael looked at him with a neutral expression. Even though he did not say a single word, his meaning was clear.

"Haa!" Jackson let out a helpless sigh upon realizing Michael’s determination. Never had he ever thought that there would come a day that he would find himself in a situation like this.

Regardless, he was quick to accept the facts. He responded to Michael’s question, "I’m not willing to die, as long as my family is not involved. Go ahead."

Michael immediately understood what Jackson was implying. Previously, it was because of his family’s condition that he agreed to the proposition to go and be used as a material for research.

But thinking about it, it seemed that he didn’t have any other options. Even if he refused, those guys might have just found another way to force him there. And by then, things would get much uglier, and he might not have ended up being a mutant that he currently was.

"The task is quite simple. I want you to deal with several of the top level members of the blood reapers syndicate. You can kill all of them, apart from Amos." Michael stated.

The moment that he said those words, the two people around him looked at him, shock in their eyes. Even Kate had not anticipated that Michael would have the intention of wiping out an entire syndicate.

Despite the fact that she had not come into direct contact with the blood reapers syndicate, he understood that it was not a small force.

To destroy them, it would not be that easy. But then again, she thought, this was Michael. He definitely had a way, right?

Kate was not against the idea of dealing with the blood reapers syndicate. It was not just about the fact that she hated the crimes that were committed by those syndicates, but also because of the grudge that she had against Bob.

Bob might be dead, and was working for the silent order syndicate, but even then, he was part of the blood reapers syndicate.

By now, she was no longer as obsessed with revenge as before. But even then, she had no any intention of letting anyone who was directly or indirectly involved with the death of her father go.

She might not actively look for them, but if there was a chance for her to deal with them, or someone else to deal with them, she would definitely support that.

"Are you sure? If I do this, it can cause chaos. I’m not talking about some simple chaos, instead, I’m talking about nationwide chaos." Jackson asked, not believing that Michael really intended for this to happen.

Michael of course understood what Jackson was implying. If the main leaders of one syndicate were killed, it would inevitably attract the attention of the other forces.

While in this nation there were only two syndicates, there were other forces that existed, but they did not operate in the same way as the two syndicates.

If there was a chance for them to be able to take over the resources of one of the biggest forces in the nation, they will definitely vie for it.

It was to be expected that conflicts would arise, and it was inevitable that the government would have to take action.

It was not that easy to be able to deal with those big forces, as it would cause a chain of reaction. This was part of the reason why the government had never eliminated the two syndicates, despite possessing the ability of doing that.

Unless they could fully deal with the other forces, it was impossible to be able to completely eliminate one of the syndicates or both, then swallow all of its resources.

"Don’t worry about it. If anything happens, I will take care of it." Michael responded confidently.

He had already decided long before coming to the capital that he would have to deal with the blood reapers syndicate. That was especially with Amos continuously trying to kill him.

That guy, he had already failed before, yet, he went to look for another person, Jackson, to come and kill him. And of course, his attempting to get the other top assassination organizations in the world had not escaped his notice.

As long as it was communication that could leave behind some evidence, it was only a matter of time before Onyx could dig it out.

Jackson immediately understood that he could not change Michael’s mind. Since that was the case, he thought, he might as well go with it.

As for the thought of trying to escape the moment that he left here, the thought was completely extinguished with Michael’s next words.

"I hope that you do as you are required. Otherwise, things would get much more complicated than this. After all, you might need to know that I already know your identity, more than what you have revealed." Michael stated.

By this time, after the few clues that Onyx had received, it was much easier to be able to find Jackson’s real identity. Knowing about his family was easy, and this guy clearly care about his family.

Michael was not the type to use someone else’s family as leverage. Even if this guy disappeared, Michael would obviously not go after his family.

But this guy did not know. Therefore, the moment that Michael mentioned about his family, and gave a few details about them, the ones that Jackson had not revealed, Jackson immediately understood Michael’s implication.

At that moment, he was really shocked. Clearly, Michael did not know about his arrival. Additionally, Michael did not know who had sent him here.

But now, all of a sudden, he knew about some other things that he had not revealed. While he was affected by the truth pill, it was not as if he was being forced to say everything that he knew about.

Unless he was asked about it, Jackson was not obligated to reveal that piece of information.

Then suddenly, Jackson thought of another possibility. Could it be possible that all this while, Michael was just pretending?

Was it really possible that Michael already knew about the fact that he was going to come over tonight? That he had been sent by Amos, and was just testing him with those questions?

As he thought about this, he felt a chill running down his spine. If that really was the case, then it implied that Michael’s connections and background could not be underestimated.

For him to be able to get that information, so quickly, it was clear that the connections that he had, they exceeded his own.

What was the implication of this? Clearly, Michael’s connections exceeded the organization that he had signed a contract with.

As he came to this conclusion, he felt kind of relieved, but at the same time, burdened. With someone like Michael focusing on him, it was clear that if he betrayed him, things would get ugly.

It seemed that he would not have to worry much about the issue regarding the experiments and so on. In any case, if something happened, Michael would have to deal with it.

"Two days. I need 2 days, and I will be done with the task." Jackson said decisively.

At this point, he thought, the only way out was for him to complete the task that he had been assigned as soon as possible. That way, in case Michael changed his mind, he would have at least done what he was required to do, and disappeared.

That’s right. Even though he had no intention of escaping for now, the moment that he was done with the task that Michael had assigned him, he would immediately vanish.

He decided, he would have to lay low for quite a while, and avoid taking some of the tasks, even if they came directly from the organization.

"Okay, go ahead. I will be waiting for the results." Michael nodded as he responded.

Immediately after he finished speaking, the binding force around Jackson disappeared. It was so abrupt that Jackson nearly fell, but he managed to stabilize himself.

He then gave Michael a glance, before he turned to leave. But before he could descend the stairs, Michael gave him a reminder, "Try to avoid meeting other people for now. The effect of the feeling is still present, until 1 hour is up, you will only speak truthfully of anything that you are asked about."

That reminder was a wake up call to Jackson. He agreed, as he made a swift change to his plans.

As the two watched him depart, there was a moment of silence between them. And a little while later, Kate could not hold back anymore as she asked, "About that pill, can you get me one?"
