Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!
Chapter 697 - The Athanoviya Empire is just too vast (Part 2)
Samtreina is the biggest out of the three towns I have visited so far with a land area of about 4 square miles with an approximate population of around 17,000 people at most. Based on my little shopping spree last night, they most likely have trading agreements with many wandering merchants and nearby towns since the variety of items available in the markets far surpass that of what’s available in Anfang and Duha combined.
As for the inhabitants’ quality of living, it is even better than Duha because of the very lively economy. It would not take an expert to observe it from the lively night market, the type of material used in the clothes that people are wearing and the type of materials used to construct houses and other types of buildings. The people generally have more money to spare not just with their basic needs but they could splurge a little bit on their wants too.
I chose a mid-priced inn to stay in for the next three days. I have to be modest since I am technically on an official academe immersion thus I am only a student in these parts. It will also help me get my reports easier since the mid-priced inns are usually in the busier areas of the town. I will also have the chance to meet and talk with more locals to learn more about this place.
Following on how I have been completing my previous town visits, I also stayed strictly for three days in Samtreina including the visits to the nearby villages and forests. With my abilities, I could do it all in a day if I wanted to but it won’t be believable just in case that somebody nosy will check the records of my arrival and departure from each town. It is better to be safe and have all of my tracks covered than to waste time explaining it in the future.
As I got nearer to the region where my four husbands were born in, it seems that the towns just becomes more and more prosperous as well. I think it was not a surprise since in that region, there are a several noble families managing territories that are almost next to each other. I believe that the region would have been even wealthier and more progressive if only they learned to help each other out instead of competing and fighting with each other as well as bullying the weaker and lower ranked families. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Well, I guess the feuds of some families are in a different depth that it can’t be handled by just a few talks and peace treaties since they are due to ruined marriages, child custody battles and betrayal. It is not as simple as those that fight each other for money, land or power. The perfect example are the matriarchal and patriarchal families of my husbands.
The more dramatic the reason of their feuds was, the more excited I felt in learning more about the whole story. I knew I was always the weirdest one here and the most gossipy, I guess.
I forcefully moved my thoughts away from what I was about to do in that region for now to focus on my present tasks. As for the next major town, it is a day away even if I travel nonstop. It was a bit further since there are more villages in between Samtreina and the fourth major town of Caraviera.
Caraviera is also a fishing town bordered by rivers, lakes and even a mountain springs. Due to the abundance of fresh water, they are also doing well in farming plants and livestock. Caraviera is smaller due to the fact that people opted to stay in their own villages due to the abundance of resources and only use the major town for trading and selling their goods at the market.
The town of Caraviera only has a land area similar to Anfang which is at 2.5 square miles but the whole place looked like a business district. The population is lower too at only around 8,000 but the amount of people that come and go through its gates each day can rival any city due to the trades done within it.
Since the town has more nearby villages, I though that for it to be believable and doable for a human, I had no choice but to stay in the area for 5 days to explore and observe everything. I don’t have a choice but to send the review after more than a week instead. I am sure the academe grandmaster knew that I could do it way faster but would understand my considerations. I sent it over on the 9th day after I stepped foot on the previous town of Samtreina.
During my travels, since I am mostly alone, I started communicating telepathically to the little bug that has been watching over me several times in a day. Yeah, that purple dragon guy that my parents said was the seer of their race. It was fun how he had the greatest shock of his life when my voice was transmitted through his mind through the connection he forcefully and secretly made to watch my every move. He panicked and I clearly saw how he fell down to the floor from his bed he was laying on.
I did not want to get involved with the dragons just yet but there isn’t much of a choice since one has already found a way to directly contact me while another sent (bethrotal) gifts before. In a sense, it is a kind of my reward for this purple dragon’s efforts since he did way better than that silver dragon who sent his scale as a gift back in Sklavryet. This one at least did not offer himself or tried to pursue me in anyway.
During our conversation, I felt more of his loneliness and his need for someone to talk to freely rather than him needing something from me. I even think that he forgot about the original purpose on why he was spying on me before. As we get to know each other better, I eventually just treated him as a long distance phone call friend.
Before I knew it, it has already been 20 days since I left the territory of the Church of Lumienere. As of now, I already have sent 2 reports about 4 major towns and more than 20 smaller villages. I also have a purple dragon friend now who is constantly accompanying me although it is just telepathically and not physically so the trips arean’t so boring anymore.
On the 20th day of my official immersion, I finally reached the last major town of Cinkaidu. It was the biggest town out of all the major towns I have visited. If I would describe its land size, it should be right between the size limit of a small town and a medium sized town in the modern era at about 8 square miles. It is also almost at full capacity at a population of around 19,000 for both residents, workers and traders that live both temporarily and permanently in the town.
Compared to Anfang, Duha, Samtreina and Caraveira which all have their own local specialty products and food, Cinkaidu is a melting pot of people from different places which means the local cuisine from the previous four major towns can also be found here with a wide variety of stores offering food, beverages, clothing and other items. My heart that loved shopping for my family is currently leaping with joy!
