Kind-hearted Grim Reaper
Chapter 40 - 11 Golden Monster Fish (Part 2)_1
"Ah Dai, I discovered this place not long ago, it’s really a blessing. It’s perfect for your training. Let’s go up there." As he spoke, Owen wrapped his arms around Ah Dai’s waist, lightly landing on the largest boulder. The constant thunderous noise of the waves crashing against the rocks echoed around. Despite the clear weather, the sea waves here were unusually large.
"Ah Dai, there’s a unique spot within these rocks, naturally formed. For some reason, after the waves pass the other rocks, they form a tremendous impact. I’ve set up a large wooden stake there. I’ll tie you to the stake, leaving your arms free. You need to follow my instructions to convert the True Qi within your body into battle-energy, constantly resisting the impact of the waves, trying your best to prevent them from hitting you, understand? This way, you can train your body and cultivate ’Life Creation.’ Look, it’s right there." As he spoke, Owen pointed down.
Following Owen’s pointing, Ah Dai saw that within the vast pieces of rocks, there was a spot left empty, forming giant waves after the seawater passed other rocks. The waves endlessly crashed against the front rocks, years of impact had caused a large depression on the rock surface nearest to the sea. In the center of the empty space, a wooden stake about a meter in diameter had been placed. No matter how strong the waves, the stake remained unshaken.
Ah Dai hesitated and asked, "Uncle, how did you set up the stake there?"
Owen gave a mysterious smile. "A large rock is beneath the sea. I used the True Qi of Life Creation, drove the stake into the rock, and it naturally stayed. Today is the first time, so just do your best. If you can’t withstand the waves, you’ll be washed by them. I’ll let you down after two hours." Finishing his words, Owen jumped down with Ah Dai. There was a bump in the middle of the stake, just right for Ah Dai to step on. Owen took out the prepared rope, secured Ah Dai’s body to the stake, while constantly pushing back the impact of the waves with his palm, which was too strong for them to reach three meters in front of them.
"Ah Dai, watch carefully how I fend off the waves, then give it a try on your own. I’ll come to get you after two hours." After finishing his words, Owen jumped off the stake, and after a few leaps and bounds, vanished from Ah Dai’s sight.
Boom. A huge wave crashed onto Ah Dai, making him feel as if his entire body had been hit by something heavy, causing him to swallow a mouthful of seawater. Not having time to adjust himself, he rushed to guide his Qi and strike with his palm. Normally, Ah Dai seldom had the chance to use the Life Creation Battle-Energy, he had no experience. The battle-energy he discharged was disorganized and could only slow down the impact of the seawater but could not resist it. Fortunately, the waves were not continuous. After several big waves, they needed to accumulate for a while before they would strike again, giving Ah Dai a chance to catch his breath. Ah Dai kept swinging his palms, the waves were like a matchless master, constantly helping him practice how to use the Life Creation Battle-Energy. For the current Ah Dai, the two hours seemed extremely long. Although he could not withstand the impact of the seawater on his body, he still fought perseveringly. Time and again, Ah Dai almost fainted from the impact of the waves, but he persisted. Amid the booming sounds, Ah Dai finally exhausted all his True Qi, leaving only his hands in front of his face, letting the waves wash over his body.
Owen hadn’t gone far. He hid behind a rock, watching Ah Dai constantly contending with the waves. Ah Dai’s performance was evidently unsatisfactory. With Ah Dai’s current realm of the Life Creation Battle-Energy, he could be doing much better, but he was not using it properly. His understanding was truly lacking. Sighing, Owen stood tall, leaped onto the stake with a few bounds, and untied Ah Dai, who was somewhat fuzzy. He hoisted Ah Dai onto his shoulder and landed on the rock. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The sun hung high in the middle of the sky. Owen placed Ah Dai on a flat spot, inhaled deeply, lifted his upper body, placed his palms on his shoulders, and channeled his Life Creation Battle-Energy into Ah Dai’s body. With the infusion of external force, Ah Dai instantly perked up, regaining some consciousness. Owen said in a deep voice, "Focus and gather your Qi, lead the Qi down to your Dantian, and circulate it through all meridians."
Ah Dai felt as if his body had been disassembled, unable to describe the discomfort, and he couldn’t muster any strength. Owen’s palms continuously sent warm currents that made him feel a bit better. He struggled to gather energy from within his body using Owen’s Life Creation True Qi, gradually calming down.
Ah Dai didn’t come around until the afternoon, Owen had been by his side guarding him. The deafening sound of the waves kept ringing. "Awake yet? Eat something first." He handed Ah Dai a basket of steamed buns and salted fish. After a few hours of recuperation, Ah Dai’s Life Creation True Qi was mostly restored, but his body was still sore and his muscles were limp and weak. Taking the basket, Ah Dai wolfed down the contents. Eating was Ah Dai’s favorite activity and the best method to recover energy.
Only after Ah Dai finished his meal did Owen say, "Your performance today disappointed me. Do you know that? With your skill level, you could have easily held up for two hours without such disgrace. What happened to the psychological state I taught you, where ’even when the mountains collapse before you, your color does not change’? Just a few wave crashes, and you forgot everything, wasted too much energy at the start. Moreover, do you think you can resist the waves and press them down with your current level? Your battle-energy was so scattered, how can it resist the impact of the waves. If it’s a piercing strike? At least, you can resist the waves rushing towards you and save some energy. Think about it. That’s all for today." After finishing his words, Owen picked up the basket and walked away without looking back.
