Legacy of the God of War
Chapter 277: Missing Cen Yuhuan
As soon as the Lins departed, Li Chen turned to his twin brother, his brow furrowed with concern. "That’s the first time I’m finding out you even have a girlfriend, bro," he remarked, his tone tinged with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
Li Xinjie rolled his eyes, a rueful smile tugging at his lips. "You’ve been so busy training like there’s no tomorrow, and of course, you’ve had your hands full with your new wife," he countered, his voice laced with a hint of playful accusation.
Li Chen couldn’t argue with that logic, and he nodded in concession. "Fair point," he acknowledged. "So, you’re thinking what I’m thinking?"
Li Xinjie’s expression hardened, his jaw tightening with grim determination. "We’ve managed to take out about ten of the Organization’s assassins," he said, his voice low and grave. "Of course, they would do anything to get to me."
Li Chen’s eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications of his brother’s words. "We need to contact Shadow and the rest, so they can get working on finding Yuhuan," he declared, his tone leaving no room for argument.
The sound of approaching footsteps drew their attention, and they turned to see their mother, Sun Lixia, enter the room, her expression one of curiosity and concern.
"Contact Shadow for what?" she inquired, her brow furrowed. "What’s going on?"
Li Xinjie’s shoulders sagged as he relayed the news about Cen Yuhuan’s disappearance. "Three days now," he added, his voice heavy with worry.
Sun Lixia’s expression darkened, her lips pressing into a tight line as she pieced together the puzzle. "I see the Organization is going for that tactic now," she murmured, her voice laced with a mixture of anger and resignation.
Li Xinjie’s gaze hardened, his fists clenching at his sides. "Unless we completely raze them to the ground, they will never stop coming for us," he declared, his tone resolute and uncompromising.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Sun Lixia reached for her phone, her fingers deftly tapping out a series of numbers. As she began making a flurry of phone calls, Tang Ziyi couldn’t help but sigh, his expression one of mixed emotions.
Even though he was still not entirely sure what this family was into, he couldn’t stand idly by while they grappled with such a dire situation. Stepping forward, he offered his assistance. "Brother Chen, I can try and trace her last known location," he suggested, his voice calm and determined. "Maybe comb through surveillance footage, see if we can find something."
Li Chen nodded gratefully, relief flickering across his features. "Great, you can work with Xu Zhonhao on the tech side," he agreed, his tone one of approval.
Tang Junjie, who had been watching the exchange with a mix of confusion and concern, couldn’t help but feel left out. "Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked, his voice tinged with a hint of desperation.
Li Chen’s gaze softened as he regarded his brother-in-law, his expression one of understanding. "I need someone here with Madam Tang and Zhang Mei," he said, his tone gentle but firm.
Tang Junjie’s shoulders sagged momentarily, but he quickly regained his composure, nodding in acquiescence. He may not be able to contribute directly to the search efforts, but he could provide support and ensure the safety of their loved ones – a role just as crucial in the grand scheme of things.
As Sun Lixia’s phone calls continued, the room buzzed with a palpable sense of determination and urgency. The issue with the Jiangs was quickly pushed to the back of their minds, their sole focus now centered on finding Cen Yuhuan and bringing her home safely. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Li Chen turned to his brother, his expression grim but resolute. "We need to gather the team," he stated, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Shadow, Xu Zhonhao, and the others – we’re going to need all hands on deck for this one."
Li Xinjie nodded, his jaw set in a tight line. "Agreed," he affirmed, his eyes burning with conviction. "I’ll reach out to them immediately. We can’t afford to waste any more time."
As Li Xinjie stepped aside to make the necessary arrangements, Li Chen pulled Tang Ziyi aside, his expression one of gratitude and trust.
"Ziyi, I can’t thank you enough for your willingness to help," he began, his voice sincere. "I know this situation must seem bizarre, and you have every right to be confused, but your support means more than you can imagine."
Tang Ziyi waved off the sentiment, his expression one of unwavering determination. "You’re family, Brother Chen," he said simply, his voice tinged with a hint of affection. "Whatever this is, whatever you’re involved in, I’m with you every step of the way."
Li Chen’s eyes shone with emotion, and he clasped Tang Ziyi’s shoulder in a gesture of camaraderie. "Then let’s get to work," he said, his tone resolute.
Within the hour, the team had assembled – a motley crew of tech geniuses, former military operatives, assassins from Li Yanyan’s team and highly skilled individuals, each bringing their unique talents and expertise to the table.
"Alright, listen up," he barked, his voice commanding instant attention. "We’ve got a missing person case on our hands, and time is of the essence. Zhonhao, Ziyi, I want you two on tech support. Scour every inch of surveillance footage, hack into any system you need to – leave no stone unturned."
Xu Zhonhao nodded sharply, his fingers already flying across the keyboard of his laptop. Tang Ziyi mirrored his determination, his brow furrowed in concentration as he prepared to delve into the digital realm.
Shadow turned his attention to the remaining members of the team, his gaze steely and unwavering. "The rest of you, prepare for a potential extraction operation," he ordered, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. "We don’t know what we’re up against yet, but we need to be ready for anything."
A chorus of nods and murmurs of assent rippled through the group, each member steeling themselves for the challenges that lay ahead. Li Chen and Li Xinjie exchanged a resolute glance, their determination fueled by the burning desire to bring Cen Yuhuan home safely.
As the team dispersed to their respective tasks, Sun Lixia watched from the sidelines, her expression a mix of pride and concern. She knew the risks they were undertaking, the dangers they were willingly embracing, but she also knew that this was the path they had chosen – a path paved with sacrifices and challenges, but one that ultimately led to the pursuit of justice and the protection of those they loved.
Madam Tang’s voice broke the tense silence, her tone laced with worry and maternal concern. "Are you sure about this?" she asked, her gaze flickering between Li Chen and Li Xinjie. "This Organization seems formidable, and the risks are immense."
Li Chen met her gaze with unwavering determination, his expression resolute. "We don’t have a choice, Madam Tang," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of regret. "They’ve taken this too far, and we can’t allow them to continue unchecked."
Li Xinjie nodded in solemn agreement, his jaw set in a tight line. "Yuhuan is more than just my girlfriend," he added, his voice thick with emotion. "She’s an innocent caught in the crossfire of our battles, and we owe it to her to bring her home, no matter the cost."
Madam Tang’s shoulders sagged, her expression one of reluctant acceptance. She knew, deep down, that this was a battle they could not shy away from – a battle that would test their resolve, their strength, and their unwavering commitment to doing what was right, no matter the consequences.
As the team worked tirelessly, scouring through data and formulating plans, a sense of grim determination settled over them. They were no longer merely fighting for themselves or their loved ones; they were fighting for the innocent lives caught in the crossfire, the collateral damage of a war that had raged for far too long.
And as the hours ticked by, each moment that passed only served to fuel their resolve, igniting a fire within them that burned brighter and brighter – a fire that would not be extinguished until justice was served, and the Organization’s reign of terror was brought to its knees.
The battle lines had been drawn, and the stage was set for a confrontation that would shake the very foundations of their world. But they were ready, united in their purpose and unwavering in their conviction. For in the face of adversity, they stood tall, a formidable force to be reckoned with – a force that would stop at nothing to protect those they loved and ensure that the light of hope never dimmed, no matter how dark the night may seem.
