Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Chapter 2468: Qualification
Julius Reed suddenly discovered that his infallible Mind Reading Technique completely lost its effect when facing this Skeleton General, Marcellus Lopez.
"Is it also a skeleton formed by lingering spiritual telekinesis?" Julius Reed used his Divine Sense to communicate with Knife Abernathy.
As a spiritual telekinesis user, Knife Abernathy found communicating with Julius Reed quite convenient.
The two could almost communicate without speaking, using spiritual telekinesis.
Upon hearing his words, Knife Abernathy began to sense the surrounding telekinesis field.
He lacked the divine eye, unable to see the skeletons within the yellow sand clearly.
But any spiritual telekinesis would generate a force field similar to spiritual power.
Through the force field, Knife Abernathy could perceive the presence of these telekinesis energies.
Thinking itself is an activity of spiritual telekinesis.
The ability Julius Reed got from Wayland was to accurately capture the brainwaves generated by thinking, thereby knowing the other person’s thoughts.
But the skeleton before him seemed to have no fluctuation.
Yet, the skeleton could speak and has consciousness, indicating it has spirituality.
All things have spirits, and skeletons are no exception.
The smaller skeletons, on the other hand, seem to have lost their souls, merely acting as tools of Marcellus Lopez.
"Without spiritual power fluctuations, I can’t feel it; even if it’s spiritual telekinesis, it doesn’t exist." Knife Abernathy communicated with Julius Reed using his consciousness.
Receiving this definitive answer, Julius Reed became even more interested.
"Marcellus Lopez? The great General of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance?" he asked with a puzzled tone, using his divine eye to gaze at the armored skeleton still at a distance, "Why do you say Silvio Reed brought this upon himself? What really happened back then?"
"What happened back then is no longer important." Marcellus Lopez, the armored skeleton, waved his hand, and the skeleton warhorse beside him instantly transformed into a chair made of stacked bones.
Marcellus Lopez sat on the chair, and with his right hand, lodged a spear into the ground, his powerful voice resounding once again, "What brings you to Blood Sweat Ridge? Do you not know that few who come here survive?"
It seemed he intended to sit down and have a chat with Julius Reed.
"I always have a feeling..."
The skeleton lifted its skull, slowly rotating it, "Why does it seem like someone is watching me..."
"Perhaps there really is someone watching you." Julius Reed withdrew his divine eye gaze slowly; it seemed this skeleton in front of him was not easy to deal with, able to sense the presence of the divine eye.
"It’s just us here, who else could be?" Marcellus Lopez chuckled lightly, his skeletal frame slightly leaning forward, "You’re saying you’re the king of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance?"
"That’s right."
Julius Reed nodded and pointed to Knife Abernathy, saying, "This is the king of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance. But this Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance has nothing to do with your one. So there’s no enmity between us."
Before the situation was clarified, Julius Reed did not want to create conflict.
Marcellus Lopez was very strong, and if he could be developed into an ally or extract some information from him, it would be much wiser than making a formidable enemy.
"Kid, you’re clearly stronger than him, why is he the king and you’re not?" Marcellus Lopez extended his finger of mere bones towards Julius Reed, the skeleton’s mouth moved and voiced, "Isn’t a king supposed to be the stronger one?"
"He’s stronger than me." Julius Reed chuckled and explained, "Just now, when the heavens of Blood Sweat Ridge were torn, I’m guessing you felt it too. That moment was accomplished by the one beside me."
Although he knew it was shifting the blame and making himself the scapegoat, Knife Abernathy couldn’t help but feel quite delighted.
He was seldom praised by Julius Reed, who often disparaged him.
Thinking of this, Knife Abernathy sighed.
The tiger falls in Pingyang and is bullied by dogs.
The once masterful controller of the Nine Provinces’ souls has now fallen to needing praise from others.
How lamentable!
"That moment was indeed very powerful. Since you’re connected to the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, I shall have a chat with you."
Marcellus Lopez suddenly stood up and began walking step by step towards Julius Reed.
"But before chatting with me, you at least need to prove you have the strength to chat with me."
Before the words fell, Marcellus Lopez’s spear in his hand once again smashed down!
The moment the spear was unleashed, the yellow sand howled!
The sandstorm swiftly gathered at the break point of the broken spear, and as Marcellus Lopez exerted his strength forward, the yellow sand swept towards Julius Reed!
"If you can withstand this blow, then you’ll have earned the capital to chat with me."
Marcellus Lopez maintained his spear-thrusting stance, watching the constantly flying yellow sand.
"Very dangerous." Knife Abernathy stood behind Julius Reed, feeling it was somewhat unstable and took a few more steps back.
Martial Artists have a sharp sense of spiritual power.
This strike from Marcellus Lopez clearly aimed to kill.
"Can you withstand it?" Knife Abernathy anxiously asked.
"Of course, but this time, I can’t offer my regards to his family."
Julius Reed placed his right hand on the knife handle, speaking softly, "This guy is a dangerous man."
"As long as you’re confident, I trust you." Knife Abernathy retreated a few more steps.
He didn’t know why, but he had a bad premonition.
As a spiritual telekinesis expert, Knife Abernathy’s premonitions have always been accurate.
Perhaps his spiritual telekinesis strength allows him to sense some brainwaves, even though he cannot know what others are thinking like Julius Reed.
Yet whenever someone intends to harm him, Knife Abernathy can always detect it.
He retreated over ten meters, feeling a bit more at ease.
Invisible, but Knife Abernathy, relying on sensing spiritual power, predicted the distance of the sandstorm.
"It’s coming."
He closed his eyes tightly, sensing that Julius Reed had already collided with the sandstorm.
Whether or not he can withstand it depends on this moment.
But suddenly, Knife Abernathy was stunned.
In his sea of consciousness, he suddenly couldn’t sense Julius Reed’s presence.
Only the sandstorm constantly approaching!
"Damn it! Julius Reed, you ran away!" Knife Abernathy immediately understood what happened.
Julius Reed didn’t choose to shatter the sandstorm but dodged and fled!
Now the sandstorm directly faces Knife Abernathy!
"Wind power! This bastard knows wind power!" he cursed repeatedly.
Julius Reed had wind power, able to disappear in an instant.
But Knife Abernathy didn’t, facing the swiftly approaching storm, he could only brace himself!
"Promises to shield me from the wind and rain, yet the next moment I’m left to face the music!" Knife Abernathy sighed again, concentrating his spiritual telekinesis, muttering, "Really a jerk!"
Boom!
A dull sound.
Knife Abernathy took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes.
His hand trembled slightly.
But fortunately, the sandstorm was gone.
It hadn’t collided.
Sand was scattered all over the place.
The wind stopped too.
Knife Abernathy widened his eyes and stared straight ahead.
Only to see Julius Reed holding a Knife Abernathy, standing behind a chair made of stacked bones.
Sitting on the chair was a skeleton in armor.
At the skeleton’s foot was a skull.
