Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Chapter 2471: Brain
The saying "Fierce ghosts fear wicked people" is actually true.
Human wickedness is the greatest evil in the world.
Marcellus Lopez had stayed in the Sweatblood Ridge for so long that he was unfamiliar with the outside world.
However, someone who could casually kill the Lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance and act as if nothing happened is absolutely best avoided.
He wasn’t afraid of fighting; he was more concerned about the secret of this ancient armor being exposed.
A person who can easily kill their own master has no sense of integrity.
Marcellus Lopez feared nothing but trouble.
"You see, if we’d talked earlier, the Lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance wouldn’t have had to die?"
Julius Reed sighed, expressing his helplessness.
In fact, the Truth King from the Nine Nether Realm only entered his sea of consciousness.
Just like before.
As soon as the Truth King leaves and enters the body, everything will be back to normal.
No anomalies whatsoever.
They had always communicated through divine sense, something outsiders couldn’t hear, achieving absolute secrecy.
"First, tell me, how do you know my consciousness relies on this armor?" Marcellus Lopez asked curiously.
He liked ruthless people, but he despised those who achieved their goals by any means.
Silvio Reed had originally used extremely despicable means to kill him in the Taklamakan Desert.
And Silvio Reed himself sat on the seat of the Lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance.
The original creator of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, Marcellus Lopez, the General who shed countless blood and whose number of dead was unknown, ultimately was forgotten.
He became a skeleton, taking his dead soldiers like ghostly spirits wandering aimlessly.
The world was not unfair; it offered many choices.
It’s merely the survival of the fittest.
In the thousands of years Marcellus Lopez had been a skeleton, he had seen through everything.
He knew that to achieve great things, you have to be willing to do anything, like the person in front of him.
But before cooperating, he must understand the person’s character, methods, and skills.
Silvio Reed’s betrayal had truly frightened him.
"I purely guessed."
Upon hearing Marcellus Lopez’s query, Julius Reed calmly responded, "I’m a smart person; I don’t just rely on my fists but also my brain."
He pointed at his head and grinned, "The brain is a good thing."
"Are you implying that the dead Lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance had no brains?"
Marcellus Lopez pointed his bony finger downward, saying, "First, let’s get down to business; I’m still very puzzled inside."
"You don’t have spiritual power fluctuations, nor do you possess mental telekinesis. So, you’re just a skeleton; how can you store spiritual power in your bones? I have observed up close, and it’s not realistic."
Julius Reed stared at Marcellus Lopez and pointed at the armor, "When I tried to chop off your head, I noticed the armor had very strong spiritual power, but it was so well-hidden that it was undetectable."
"Only when you exert force can I sense it."
"So, I boldly speculate that your power comes from this armor. Apart from the armor, how are you any different from the surrounding skeletons?"
Julius Reed finished speaking and quietly waited for a response.
"Not bad, you’re very smart." Marcellus Lopez turned his head, looking at the corpse already lying on the ground, and curiously asked, "What happened? He’s clearly dead, yet the wind and sand haven’t stripped his flesh and bones to make him one of my skeletal soldiers?"
A small whirlwind hovered beside the corpse, refusing to disperse for a long time.
Yet, the body lay on the ground without any change.
Very subtle.
This shouldn’t be happening.
Marcellus Lopez had done it countless times; there was never a case like this.
"Let’s not discuss this; the dead will eventually be yours. Let’s talk about why you’re here and the matters concerning this armor?"
Julius Reed quickly changed the subject.
"Back then, the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance collected numerous treasures, supposedly left behind by some god. I didn’t pay much attention to it at the time, just thought this armor was quite good."
Marcellus Lopez began explaining the secret of the armor to Julius Reed.
"At that time, the armor appeared on a ruin. When it was brought back to the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, I took a liking to it and wore it all the time."
"Back then, many treasures found in the ruins of the temple displayed astonishing power. Only my armor was different."
"I thought it was just an ordinary item among the treasures. But until the day Silvio Reed killed me, this armor actually absorbed my soul."
"After my death, my resentment didn’t dissipate. Maybe it was hatred, maybe it was anger or perhaps regret; I found that I could use the armor as a body to harness power."
"Maybe you don’t believe it; I’m almost no different from ordinary people. I may even be stronger than many people! All I need is to keep devouring spiritual power to grow stronger!"
"And I don’t need to train bit by bit like a Martial Artist."
Marcellus Lopez smiled and said, "Aren’t you curious why I’m telling you everything?"
"Because dead men keep secrets." Julius Reed said calmly.
"Oh?" Hearing this, Marcellus Lopez was a bit surprised, "You guessed that I plan to eliminate you?"
"Of course." Julius Reed nodded, "You said you need to devour spiritual power. I, being such a strong person, must be your best meal."
When Marcellus Lopez was talking, he already knew what this guy was thinking.
"It’s too late now."
Marcellus Lopez slowly stood up, spreading his arms wide!
The winds stirred fiercely!
"I originally wanted to cooperate with you, but then I thought, as long as I gain your power, perhaps I could leave Sweatblood Ridge and do what I want to do."
Marcellus Lopez laughed wildly, "Since the moment Silvio Reed killed me, I have never trusted anyone again."
"Thank you, young man."
His hands slowly pressed forward.
And the wind, sand, and skeleton soldiers gradually closed in!
A wicked smile appeared on Marcellus Lopez’s skeletal face.
It seemed he was very satisfied with such a meal.
"To hell with your thanks!"
But just then, a curse came.
"Who!"
Marcellus Lopez quickly turned, only to find that the Lord, who was supposed to be dead and lying on the ground, had actually stood up!
"You weren’t dead!"
He asked in surprise and even paused his hand movements.
The death of this Lord of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance had been verified by Marcellus Lopez. There was no living aura or telekinesis.
Indeed, he was dead!
How is he still alive now!
"You little punk!" The Truth King of the Nine Nether Realm pointed at Marcellus Lopez, cursing angrily, "If I were in my prime, I’d have wiped you out long ago!"
"Be gone!"
He extended his finger and gently swiped it!
The wind and sand tore open a gap! 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
And the sky above Sweatblood Ridge was ripped apart once more!
One finger breaking the heavens!
The power escalated even further!
"I warned you, the brain is a good thing." Julius Reed pointed at his head, looking at Marcellus Lopez with a mocking tone, "He just went into my head to replenish mental telekinesis before returning."
