Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Chapter 2473: The Counterattack
"If you lived in my time, I truly suspect you’d become a figure like the Emperor Azure River." The Nine Nether True Lord’s eyes were filled with admiration.
From initially feeling unwilling, being forced to submit, to now genuinely admiring, the previously restless emotions within the Nine Nether True Lord gradually faded away.
He began to accept his new identity, to accept the fact that he had to climb to the peak once more.
Those feelings of resentment dissipated.
"Maybe, I’m even more formidable than the Emperor Azure River." Julius Reed joked while walking on the grasslands of Obsidian.
"Don’t brag! In our era, the Emperor Azure River was the pinnacle of martial arts. Let alone in your post-martial arts era."
The Nine Nether True Lord skipped over the topic and seriously asked, "How do you plan to deal with the monster on Hengxue Ridge?" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Hengxue Ridge is not peaceful, and this monster is also very strong.
However, the Nine Nether True Lord doesn’t believe Julius Reed would simply let it go so easily.
Having followed this guy for a while, he knows very well that this self-proclaimed Piran Wilson the Swordsman has a ruthless heart.
He seems to have been through a path where there was nothing he couldn’t kill, only things he didn’t want to kill.
"I’m certainly no saint, not killing him definitely comes with my own reasons." Julius Reed didn’t hide the truth from the Nine Nether True Lord. This reincarnated master, with no acquaintances in the current world, relied solely on him.
So the Nine Nether True Lord is a genuine ally.
"You know, I have a grudge against Silvio Reed, and I plan to use him to deal with Silvio." Julius Reed finished speaking, then suddenly smiled, "Conveniently, Silvio left his own team on Hengxue Ridge. I’ll use their grudge to wipe out Silvio’s power!"
"But what about those in the Gaochang Labyrinth?" The Nine Nether True Lord felt this world was too dark.
Back in his time, he did everything openly and honorably.
But now, it’s as if people would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
No matter their identity, everyone seems to act this way.
The difference is, some maintain a facade of dignity doing it discreetly, while others aren’t afraid of causing trouble in the open.
"I know what Trent Marsh is thinking." Julius Reed turned around, looking in the direction of Hengxue Ridge, seemingly not planning to move forward.
"During the Gaochang Labyrinth incident, he almost believed my words. Those weren’t Silvio Reed’s forces left in the Gaochang Labyrinth at all, but rather Demarco Mount’s wolf cavalry that I brought in. In other words, the people around Trent Marsh are mine."
"I suspect that this guy lacks a sense of security. He wants to maintain a balance, so this time, Trent Marsh plans to take away the people Silvio left on Hengxue Ridge. He needs balance, but at the very least, his trust in Silvio has started to crack."
Julius Reed had sensed this subtle detail during a fleeting encounter with Trent Marsh.
Why did Trent Marsh leave upon seeing him?
Because Trent Marsh knows his skills!
Knows Julius Reed can hear inner thoughts.
If he stayed too long, his inner thoughts would likely be exposed.
It was for this reason that the moment Trent Marsh saw Julius Reed at the Phoenix Hotel, he turned and left.
Such an abnormal behavior couldn’t escape Julius Reed’s keen mind.
"So what do you plan to do now?" The Nine Nether True Lord felt the guy in front of him had gone mad!
"Go back and eliminate what Silvio left behind! Leave Trent Marsh without a choice! Either join my side or end up with nothing!"
Julius Reed clasped his hands behind his back, smiling faintly: "I don’t like fence-sitters. Since Trent Marsh hasn’t made a choice, I’ll help him decide."
If he wipes out Silvio’s guards, then Trent Marsh would have no choice!
In these turbulent times, unless he trusts Silvio completely, his only option would be to cooperate with Julius Reed.
But Trent Marsh’s trust in Silvio has been almost entirely consumed.
In some matters, even a little doubt can be amplified indefinitely in a short time.
There’s only full trust or distrust. In the face of major rights and wrongs, in the face of life and death, there’s no room for hesitation.
"What if Silvio isn’t dead? What if it’s all a conspiracy? Silvio might have long been dead." The Nine Nether True Lord thought Julius Reed was going too far!
His ideas and actions are unpredictable, lacking any discernable pattern.
"If I went through such trouble and it turns out Silvio isn’t actually dead, I’ll pull him back from the dead and kill him again!" Julius Reed patted The Nine Nether True Lord’s shoulder: "You go back and report that everything’s fine for me, and get some rest. I have to head over and resolve the issue."
"Are you sure you can handle it alone?" The Nine Nether True Lord was a bit worried.
Both of them had expended significant energy, and Marcellus Lopez in Hengxue Ridge was currently in a furious state.
The same tactics can’t be used twice against Marcellus Lopez.
Using them once or twice would suffice.
Trying to escape Hengxue Ridge again may prove quite challenging.
"Relax, I’ve always gotten by this way." Julius Reed turned and strode towards Hengxue Ridge.
"Sigh." The Nine Nether True Lord didn’t try persuading him further and turned to leave.
The Phoenix Hotel also needed someone to keep an eye on things.
It wasn’t long after he left that Julius Reed arrived at the large rock with "Hengxue Ridge" inscribed on it.
Taking another step forward would lead him into Hengxue Ridge.
Julius Reed took a deep breath and continued to sprint!
His speed increased rapidly, intermittently using the power of wind.
A continuous afterimage flashed by, he reached the mysterious cave entrance before dusk fell on Hengxue Ridge.
Once night fell, those skeletons would appear.
Marcellus Lopez wouldn’t expect Julius Reed to execute a comeback strike, but if he got caught by the skeletons, Marcellus Lopez would definitely show up upon receiving the news!
That would bring a lot of complications.
Previously, Julius Reed was curious why Marcellus Lopez didn’t chase Trent Marsh.
But upon seeing the stone at the cave entrance, he realized he was already outside of Hengxue Ridge.
Just at the border of Hengxue Ridge or should he say, the boundary of the formation.
No matter how powerful Marcellus Lopez was within Hengxue Ridge, he couldn’t step a foot outside of it.
The cave entrance stood over three meters tall, but within it was pitch black, nothing could be seen.
Even with the divine eyes, all he saw was darkness.
This occurrence was rare before.
Julius Reed walked into the cave, but found his vision was restricted to within ten meters.
Anything beyond that was obstructed by a formation.
Julius Reed didn’t proceed further; he cautiously retreated to the entrance.
To force Trent Marsh to comply, to destroy Silvio’s guards, he needed Marcellus Lopez to enter this cave.
The cave’s layout was somewhat familiar to Julius Reed, as it was detailed in the Nine Provinces map.
Silvio had drawn it clearly for Trent Marsh to safely lead his people out.
Standing at the entrance, Julius Reed examined the stone.
It seemed this grand formation wasn’t that fragile.
He picked up the stone and was surprised to find it incredibly light.
"Then I’ll extend this formation for you a bit." Julius Reed drew Knife Abernathy at his waist, plunged it into the stone, and dragged it into the cave.
He had just entered.
Inside Hengxue Ridge, a quiet skeleton suddenly moved.
