Chapter 82: Afraid Of Fighting Me

For the rest of the second week of July—two days less as Felix was about to reach his second week in the Azure Cleave Dojo—Felix focused on cultivating with Moon and Rain.

Whenever they took a rest, he would discuss with Moon about their formation. Felix’s study on highschool wasn’t in vain. He memorized all roles of beast pets depending on their type and how a beast tamer employed battle tactics with them.

Felix focused more on the Twin Axis formation, specifically the Variant B—Control Axis.

Such formation was only possible since he possessed the striker role and Moon would be a controller. However, Felix made some changes.

After all, Moon’s current state, she was more of a scout rather than a controller. She did not have a crowd control ability like an actual controller would.

However, Felix expected that once she reached Rare rank, Moon would finally awaken her crowd control ability.

At the end of the week, Moon reached the fifth tier Common rank, causing him to hesitate of whether to proceed in his duel with Krisha today.

They’d been discussing about it. Krisha also stated that PengPeng was at the fifth tier Common rank, yet she insisted for their duel to happen today.

Hence, for the rest of the weekend, Felix visualized together with Moon, focusing more on their coordination.

Felix would mumble from time to time to help Moon visualize of the scenario he was imagining, guiding Moon throughout.

As the week ended, Felix reached Awakener Rank 9. He immediately informed Krisha, so she would hesitate in pursuing their duel to occur today.

Felix just preferred for Moon to evolve to Rare rank first before participating in their first duel.

Yet, Krisha simply responded with a shocking news—she had just reached Awakener Rank 8.

Her progress was no lesser than him.

Felix smiled and didn’t bother trying to move their first duel anymore. He was now looking forward to fighting against her.

Inevitably, the day finally arrived. He slept quite early than the usual as he had already expected his mother would call him by 12pm noon.

He didn’t even set the alarms.

As expected, his phone rang. He sluggishly reached out on his phone based on what he recalled and grabbed it.

It took him for a while to answer—letting his consciousness finally returned and accepted it.

"Son!" His mother’s enthusiastic voice instantly echoed in his ears. "I just read the weekly news! You were incredible!"

Felix smiled. Nothing beats a compliment from a proud mother. He thought.

"What was it about, Mother?"

"You still didn’t read it?"

"I—" Felix paused. If his mother came to know that he was staying up all night and only slept on the day, his mother would grow worried.

He didn’t care if he got scolded, but he felt concerned if his mother got worried of him.

Hence, he immediately followed up. "I was busy meditating and practicing. I don’t have time for social media."

"Well, for news, you should be."

"Mhm."

"Anyway, the news is about you. You’ve defeated a Commander rank while you are still at the Awakener Rank? Also, Son, you’re growing so fast. Is it really true that you’ve reached Awakener Rank 8?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you. Just that, it’s a bit concerning."

Felix smiled. "You’re overthinking, Mother. There’s a reason for that and I’m assuring you that it’s more than fine. Also, yes, I’ve reached rank 8. There’s no need to worry, really."

"Alright. I trust you, Son. Also, about the news, it appeared that the disciples there have shifted their opinion of you. I’m assured now."

"Of course, you should be, Mother. There’s nothing to worry, really."

"Thanks for the assurance, Son. Just know that me and your father are very proud of you."

"Mhm." Felix genuinely smiled.

His father’s voice then echoed. "Good job in beating their assess, Son!"

"Daddy!" Her mother’s voice echoed, seemingly scolding her husband.

Felix chuckled.

He chatted with his mother for a while, recounting the events that occurred in the past week.

Sarah also mentioned about visiting Mia last weekend and shared that she met with Doctor Eleanor, who, despite having a weary expression, was brimming with smile as she chatted with them.

Doctor Eleanor, before leaving, mysteriously left a message that Mia’s cure was about to be finalized, causing his parents to be ecstatic—evident by his mother’s tone.

They chatted for an hour and Felix’s stomach has been growling. Thankfully, it was already 1pm and Krisha just messaged him that she wanted to eat lunch now—if he wouldn’t reply in five minutes, she’d go eat by herself, confident that he might still be asleep.

He immediately informed his mother about it and her farewell message last for three minutes.

Felix smiled bitterly and instantly replied to Krisha that he was also hungry for lunch now.

Felix left his room without changing his clothes or taking a bath—already done it before sleeping.

Just as he closed the door, Krisha’s door abruptly opened and she appeared. She had already tidied herself and her radiant beauty blinded Felix again.

I still can’t get used to her beauty.

"Let’s eat now. I’m hungry."

Felix nodded.

When they arrived, there was only one outer disciple, responsible for accommodating the inner disciples’ meal, present.

As soon as they appeared, his eyes lit up and welcomed them.

After he received their orders, he immediately went to the kitchen as the chef had already prepared their meals, only heating them.

As Felix and Krisha sat and chatted, the outer disciple only took a minute to carry Felix and Krisha’s meal.

They ate in silence, gobbling foods as slow as they could.

Once they finally filled their stomach, they continued eating now while chatting.

Felix grinned, sauce painted around his lips, and asked, "Are you ready for our second match later?"

Krisha smirked. "More than ready."

Felix chuckled. He gulped down the meat and finally asked after hesitating, "I’m curious, why are you so persistent in our duel later? We can move it until our beast pet evolve to Rare rank. Also, I can wait for you to reach Awakener Rank 9."

Krisha shook her head. "Because if I already decided, it’s hard for me to change my mind, unless I don’t have a choice for it.

Also, the way you’re trying to move the battle later made it seemed you’re afraid of fighting against me."

Felix was taken aback. He laughed.

"You sure have a way of interpreting things."
