Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 84: Otherworldly Beast Pets
Instructor Frank was surprised by Felix and Krisha’s presence as well in the Modular Terrain Floor.
Currently, the Modular Terrain Floor appeared normal. Later, for the first round of duel, it would change into broken stepping platforms.
It was arrange this way to train the disciples to get accustomed of fighting in different environment. Inevitably, most of them would venture outside the Chambers City to help lessen the amount of wild beasts outside.
Felix and Krisha was aware of all the possible terrain configurations. They couldn’t predict what specific configuration would manifest during their duel, so they visualized every scenario with their beast pet.
A moment later, all the disciples returned, but they remained outside of the Beast Sync Arena. Only those inside would be participating for the first round.
Since Felix and Krisha had already occupied it first, it would be meaningless to attempt snatching the first round from them.
They observed from above, anticipating their battle. Even the disciples, who usually wouldn’t come to watch the duel in the beast sync arena, was present.
The Beast Sync Arena was 18 meters in diameter, so it was wide and spacious.
Felix and Krisha faced Instructor Frank, as the latter asked, "Will you two be participating the first round?"
Felix and Krisha nodded, the former saying, "Yes, Instructor Frank."
Instructor Frank nodded. "Very well."
He then instructed Felix and Krisha to face each other in ten meters in distance, with him at the center.
After guiding them at the right distance, they faced at each other and he glanced at them one at a time.
After perceiving they were both ready, excited even, he leapt out as the terrain trembled. It was akin to an earthquake.
It lasted for a minute. Instructor Frank also joined in with the outer disciples to stand on above the raised stone perimeter.
Felix swept his gaze and understood that the current terrain for this round was the broken stepping platforms—where it was uneven and jagged stones were all over the place.
The first to get accustomed in the terrain would be the winner.
He glanced at moon on his shoulder and nodded.
The moment Instructor Frank officially commenced the duel, Moon leapt out of his shoulder, landing at the peak protruding stone and observed their opponent.
Felix also turned his head towards Krisha who wore a solemn expression as she let go of PengPeng on his embrace.
He glanced at PengPeng and asked Guide to show his current status for a bit—to which he had already done so earlier.
[Name: PengPeng (Frost Chick)
Bloodline: Skyfrost Sovereign Roc
Potential: 5 Stars
Rank: Common 5th Tier
Status: Contracted
Skills: Chill Peck, Cold Puff, Snow Waddle]
Felix smiled bitterly, knowing he was in an advantage since he could see through PengPeng’s information.
He was already aware—to much of his shock the first time he saw PengPeng after Krisha received her inheritance from the Immortal World—that PengPeng had also received his inheritance, as well.
His potential was at the same level as Moon, delighting him. He was honestly thrilled.
After all, he could not further acknowledged Krisha as his rival if only she received an inheritance. Now that even her beast pet has elevated his potential to five stars, Felix was finally animated to admit Krisha was worthy to become his rival.
Felix finally came to his senses as PengPeng dropped his body to the floor—stomach first.
Then, the ground below his stomach was frozen slightly, making it more slippery.
It was his skill, Snow Waddle, leaving slippery frost on the ground. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
It propelled him to move forward, seemingly swimming.
However, the uneven broken platforms made it difficult for him to easily move.
Even then, he concealed himself from Felix’s vision every time he passed in front of a jagged stone.
At the same time, his master coordinated with him, running towards Felix to keep the latter’s whole attention solely on her.
Felix said to Moon, "PengPeng will likely be targeting me. Prevent him from surrounding us with slippery ground."
Felix knew that if PengPeng successfully made all the ground, especially where he would be stepping in, slippery, it would become a dangerous situation for Felix since he would be battling with Krisha with wooden sword.
Moon observed PengPeng closely from atop of the jagged stone and finally ran towards him swiftly.
She was swift and nimble, causing Krisha to narrow her gaze.
Felix, on the other hand, bolted towards her—not without meticulously observing every ground he stepped in case it has become slippery.
Eventually, they clashed with their wooden sword. As they moved their face closer with their sword pushing each other, Krisha grinned.
However, from Felix’s eyes, it was stunning.
Damn it! Get hold of yourself, Felix!
They stepped back and attacked again. Their wooden sword clashing.
Eventually, Felix executed the Drizzle Slash the moment Krisha executed her Frostline Cut.
Their exchange were dazzling—the other was swinging his sword so rapidly that the disciples watching took a deep breath while the other simply swung her sword in one swift motion, yet carried a deadly frost aura imbued in her sword.
Any of their wooden sword was enough for an outer disciple, who imagined themselves trying to defend themselves against it, to be shaken.
They did not know where did the two monsters learned their own sword techniques, but one thing was certain, they far surpassed the sword techniques of Azure Cleave Dojo.
They couldn’t leave their gazes off of them, not until a disciple mumbled about the beasts on the ground, having their own duel.
Moon, despite being at the Common Rank, was moving so swiftly that it sent chills to the disciples’ spine.
She instantly reached PengPeng and attacked with her sharp claws.
However, PengPeng merely tilted his head upwards and met Moon’s claws with his beak. Using the momentum of him gliding with the help of Snow Waddle, he successfully blocked Moon’s attack.
Moon jumped backward and as soon as her feet briefly landed at the broken stones, she instantly rushed towards PengPeng.
However, PengPeng had already activated his skill, Cold Puff, releasing a small burst of freezing air straight from his skin.
It also acted as a distraction to hide himself, changing his body to continue in a different direction.
Even then, Moon’s passive skill, Cold Sense, enabled her to detect the temperature inside the freezing air, instantly guessing PengPeng’s current location.
Without hesitation, she leapt through the freezing air—barely affecting her fur—and swung her claws.
PengPeng was startled, but he was fast, kicking his fist as quick as he could, and evaded just in time.
Moon pursued him again and he didn’t have a choice but to place his whole attention on her.
Moon continued to chase, while PengPeng kept his tactics to evade Moon while taking a chance to look for a chance to help his master.
Their duel on their side was intense, dumbfounding the disciples.
One of the outer disciple mumbled in a daze, "Three skills... Three skills at Common rank."
Normally, despite having three star potential, at Common rank, the beast pet would only show two skills–one active and one passive.
There were some rare case it could possess two active skills, but not three active skills.
It was the first time they hard it, it was unprecedented.
Now, they doubted if what they were seeing was a normal duel between two beast tamers...
Or two monster beast tamers with their otherworldly beast pets...
