Chapter 91: The Tradition

The week ended, his parents called him two days before he maximized his skills. It was the same as usual before, albeit the weekly news simply stated that every disciple, instructor, and perhaps Master Shen himself was looking forward to Felix’s surprise on the month of July.

His parents also expressed their anticipation for Felix.

At 12pm, Felix woke up from his alarm. He turned it off and remained closing his eyes for some time before finally opening them.

He opened his phone and didn’t see a notification from Krisha. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

He messaged her to have a lunch together for the first time after not seeing each other for a week straight.

Krisha replied after five minutes, saying she’d be ready in twenty minutes.

Felix smiled and replied he’d be waiting for her.

He readied himself in the span of time Krisha gave. He left the room and waited outside her door.

Krisha actually took more ten minutes to finally leave her room.

She saw Felix, having an ambiguous expression, and chuckled.

She turned around and said in an upbeat tone, "Let’s go!"

Felix sighed and followed Krisha.

As they finally arrived in the cafeteria, the inner disciples were gathering in front of a leaderboard ranking pasted in the wall.

There were five inner disciples staring at it, before leaving one at a time and walking past Felix and Krisha without greeting them.

Curious, Felix and Krisha glanced at the ranking.

Felix was Top 15 and Krisha congratulated him. He beamed a smile and expressed his gratitude.

Felix swept through his gaze on the ranking again and was quite surprised that Isaac was now Top 5.

He planned to challenge him by next week.

His eyes eventually landed on Top 1.

Jayden Preston. Preston... Not from a wealthy family, I guess.

Felix was quite familiar with all the wealthy family name in the Chambers. Not only coming from their wealthy business but also from their position in the government.

He was quite surprised that the Top 1 was not a product of nepotism.

He was pleased. As expected, the dojo doesn’t favor those who came from the wealthy family. It didn’t need a sponsor from those wealthy family either, the government is already paying them taxes.

Krisha was also gazing at the Top 1 and said, "He’ll be your last opponent before leaving.

You only have two weeks.

I assumed that he might be at the Commander Rank 4."

Starting Commander Rank, every minor rank, 1-10, had quite a massive difference both in quality and quantity.

Every of their energy core would also change color, not by their elemental affinity color, but the manifestation that each color could store a limited a condensed energy on the energy core.

Felix, despite a week already passed by after reaching Commander Rank 1, was still at the peak of the Commander Rank 1.

Furthermore, it might take three days of deep meditation to finally have breakthrough.

Krisha said, "Right, we also have to go to obelisk to have our second summoning. Should we follow the tradition or do it later after your duel?"

Felix glanced at Krisha, dumbfounded.

He sighed. "You’re too excited. We can’t break our momentum just because we thought we are slow. We can’t be hasty, Krisha. Let’s follow the tradition."

Krisha shrugged and remained silent.

Felix turned his head towards the leaderboard and said, "Also, we need to solidify our foundation first. I assume you’re still progressing in the second stage of your sword art, right?"

Krisha nodded.

She turned towards Felix and asked, "How are you in your sword techniques?"

Felix smugly replied, "Already at the maximum level."

Krisha’s eyes widened.

"How could your comprehension be so high?"

Felix simply smirked.

Krisha was quite frustrated and turned her head away from him.

However, her stomach grumbled, causing her cheeks to redden in embarrassment.

Felix laughed. "Let’s go eat now."

Felix didn’t wait for Krisha to respond as he turned around and ordered his food.

Krisha followed behind, her cheeks were flushing red.

Thankfully, Felix didn’t humiliate her more as he ate in silence.

After a while, when the silence of awkwardness subsided, Krisha asked, "Based on the tradition, it’s best to wait for a month before going to obelisk as that will be the perfect time our soul has been nourished at the Commander rank. Should we do it by the end of the week, or a day before the college entrance examination?"

Felix was silent for a while and Krisha followed up, "If we do it before the college entrance examination, our performance might be affected since we barely be familiar with our summon by that time."

The college entrance examination usually starts at the end of the first week of August.

Felix asked Guide’s suggestion and he relayed it to Krisha, "Let’s do it at the end of the week."

Krisha nodded. She followed Felix’s suggestion because she trusted his judgement.

After they finished eating, they decided to venture around the Azure Cleave Dojo with their beast pet.

As they left the Residential Wing, Moon and PengPeng couldn’t hold their curiosity from each other as they leapt from their master and began playing with each other.

PengPeng actually slimmer and taller, much taller than Moon. His wings have also developed crystalline frost feathers.

It showcased his ability to jumping and gliding and hovering in mid-air briefly, using cold air currents it released.

His role as a controller has improved vastly.

Moon also showcased her agileness, circling around PengPeng that left him dizzy.

At the same time, PengPeng was terrified. Moon’s speed was astonishing. He barely could keep up.

He might be able to stall time against her with his control-related ability but defeating her was simply impossible.

He bitterly accepted the disparity between him and Moon.

As Krisha observed them playing around and showcasing their ability after their evolution, she turned towards Felix and asked, "What did you do to Moon to make her stronger than PengPeng? Aren’t they possessing the same potential? This doesn’t make sense."

Felix shrugged. The Guide. He wanted to say.

After all, the Guide had laid out the perfect resources to make Krisha grow stronger, better than any beast tamer.

There was no way Krisha could beat him with Guide guiding him.
