Live Strong in the Wilderness
Chapter 465: Territory of Level 4 Fierce Beasts
"Not strong enough to defeat them, you say?"
Upon hearing Lei Jie’s answer, Lavinie seemed a bit displeased.
She felt that both her and Jerry’s strength was being underestimated.
"Heh, do you think they haven’t recovered after all this time?"
"Although they’ve been in the tent all the while, can you guarantee this isn’t Li Kang trying to lure us into making a move?"
"If you can bear the consequences of what I’m saying, and are determined to give it a try, then I’m in too."
After saying this, Lei Jie stood up directly.
"Think it over. If you still want to act, come to my tent and let me know."
Upon finishing, Lei Jie walked away directly.
Jerry and Lavinie exchanged looks, then glanced at Ivica.
Jerry stroked his chin and said worriedly, "I think your brother might be right. Maybe it’s a trap set by Li Kang. After all, if we make a move and fail, he can rightfully seize everything we have."
"Then what do we do, just wait for them to grow stronger?" Ivica said, unwilling to give up, as she found her charms were ineffective against Xu Yi, and equally ineffective against Li Kang.
The feeling of defeat, yes, she felt frustrated. So, she thought of confronting these two head-on.
The unfortunate truth was that she couldn’t defeat Xu Yi, so Li Kang was the only target left.
Now they’re suggesting that Li Kang is deliberately setting a trap to entice them?
Is that even possible?
Ivica knew she couldn’t dismiss this possibility.
After all, Li Kang was an ambitious person.
Such a person couldn’t possibly be uninterested in their group.
"We have to strive to become stronger, to make those around us stronger. If we can’t handle them, then we should go after the level 3 Fierce Beasts. The meat of a level 3 Fierce Beast can help a level 2 Mage break through to a level 3 Mage more easily. Li Kang did just that, and we need to do the same to close the gap with them."
"The gap between us and Xu Yi is already tremendous, we cannot let it grow too wide between us and Li Kang as well. Xu Yi does not wish to be everyone’s boss, but Li Kang certainly does."
"It’s settled then, before dawn tomorrow, we’ll head to the level 3 Fierce Beast camp to track and hunt them. Even if I can’t guarantee anything else, the four of us, who are level 3 Mages, should have no problem dealing with a level 3 Fierce Beast."
After saying this, Jerry stood up and extended a hand to Ivica.
Ivica shook Jerry’s hand, saying, "Alright, it’s settled. We’ll divide whatever we hunt equally, including the Brain Crystal."
Ivica knew there was no other way.
"Of course, splitting it equally is the fairest." Jerry knew that right now, his strength was the weakest, and only by cooperating with Ivica and the others could he maintain the current gap with Li Kang. Otherwise, the gap would only widen.
Once that gap reached a certain point, he would quickly lose his followers.
After a brief agreement, Jerry took Lavinie and headed back to their camp. Ivica went to see Lei Jie and shared the final decision with him.
Everyone was waiting eagerly for the next day to arrive.
Time passed, and the next day arrived.
Xu Yi opened his eyes and began his daily routine.
"System, begin routine."
Today is the 160th day of the routine.
Tomorrow, he would receive a new Basic Gift Package.
What’s inside the new package?
Xu Yi was rather looking forward to it.
After completing his routine, Xu Yi began practicing the Body Refining Technique.
Once finished, Xu Yi prepared to take off with Lightning, brought along Lu Ke, rode Da Ha over to the boundary between the level 3 and level 4 Fierce Beast activity area.
After all, from their camp to here, even at Da Ha’s full speed, it took two hours. If Xu Yi had walked here by himself, it would likely take four or five hours.
So, he had Lu Ke and Da Ha bring him and Lightning here.
Xu Yi intended not to bring any other mounts.
Da Ha and its kind are level 2 Fierce Beasts, the gap with level 4 Fierce Beasts was too massive, and perhaps upon sensing the aura of a level 4 Fierce Beast, they would collapse to the ground.
Lightning is a level 3 Fierce Beast, encountering another level 3 should not render it unable to move from fear.
"Xu Yi, are you really not going to ride Da Ha?" Lu Ke patted Da Ha’s head, then looked at Xu Yi with some concern.
Without a mount, Xu Yi’s speed would greatly diminish, and if he couldn’t handle a level 4 Fierce Beast, wouldn’t he lack even the opportunity to escape?
What if he encounters two, or even more than two level 4 Fierce Beasts?
Truthfully, Lu Ke very much wanted to go with Xu Yi. After all, she was a level 4 Mage, facing level 4 Fierce Beasts should lend her some combat capability, shouldn’t it?
"No need, rest assured, I will return safely. You take care of yourself and head back to the camp soon. It’s still quite dangerous here."
"I can see your location. Don’t wait for me here, okay?" Xu Yi said and shook the Star Chart.
Lu Ke’s face changed slightly; she had indeed planned to wait for Xu Yi here.
But after Xu Yi said that, she couldn’t do so anymore.
"I’ll head back now." Lu Ke said, then climbed up onto Da Ha’s back.
"That’s better." Xu Yi said with a smile, then turned and left directly.
Lightning followed beside Xu Yi at a leisurely pace, appearing very calm.
Speaking of which, Lightning’s personality was rather steady. In contrast, Bai Yu was much more lively. Perhaps it was because Bai Yu was still quite young.
Bai Yu very much wanted to follow; it thought Xu Yi and Lightning were off to play and they didn’t bring it along.
Unfortunately, Lu Ke held onto it.
Soon, Xu Yi and Lightning disappeared into the forest.
Xu Yi and Lightning continued running forward; this boundary was about two to three kilometers wide, and beyond it was the territory of level 4 Fierce Beasts.
Lu Ke stood for a moment, then turned and headed back as well.
Other than praying for Xu Yi in her heart, all she could do was diligently continue her training.
Because the difference in strength between her and Xu Yi was vast, Xu Yi did not bring her along. If her strength wasn’t weak, Xu Yi would undoubtedly take her with him.
Striving to grow stronger was the only way to keep up with Xu Yi’s pace. Otherwise, the distance between her and Xu Yi would only grow.
An hour later, Xu Yi stumbled upon a skeleton of some animal.
"A bit late." Xu Yi squatted down and examined it closely.
The skeleton of the animal was still quite fresh; the scent of blood still lingered.
However, it was no longer a complete skeleton, with many bones missing.
"Lightning, it seems your sense of smell is quite sharp." Xu Yi patted Lightning’s head, happily saying this.
Finding this place was naturally Lightning’s accomplishment.
Just as Xu Yi prepared to leave, a cry suddenly reached his ears.
