Magus Supremacy
Chapter 1021: Rain Chaos (3)
Chapter 1021
The moment Kira sent the lightning sphere crashing into the battlefield, she immediately joined the fray with high-speed movements that were akin to teleportation.
She darted straight into the heart of the enemy territory.
Continuous lightning strikes, bright beams, and surgical take-downs erupted from her as she kept blinking in and out with fluid speed.
Her sharp wings and talons ripped through whatever defenses the enemy attempted to mount.
Blood sprayed across the terrain as she skillfully avoided clashing with the heavier beasts while making sure to systematically take down the humans in the enemy ranks.
During a fluid spin, her wing lashed out.
A warrior tried deflecting the incoming blow with his blade, but he simply couldn’t withstand the force.
The wing ripped cleanly through his sword and into his head, splitting the structure in two.
Swinging her wing forward, not only did the blood of the man burst out, but also sudden strikes of lightning crashed into another nearby enemy, paralyzing him in one spot.
It was long enough for a Dawn force soldier to shred through his chest with earth magic.
Kira was contributing massively to the frontline, but still, the enemy beasts weren’t taking it easy.
Their power wasn’t to be underestimated as paws, claws, magic, and fangs repeatedly tore through the Dawn forces.
It was a brutal exchange of casualties from both sides while the leaders kept watching from a distance.
Gustav smiled from his throne.
"Ohoy~ son, aren’t you going to join? Show your old man that his genes aren’t bad."
Grey’s closest allies lifted their brows as they all turned to face the Supreme Magus confusedly.
"Uh... not to point out the obvious, but that man is the leader of the Otherworlders, right?"
Raze questioned as he looked directly at the Supreme Magus.
"Yes."
"Why is he calling you ’son’?" Mada asked with a raised brow.
"...."
"That’s because the leader of the Otherworlders turns out to be my biological father."
All heads craned in the warrior mage’s direction in tremendous shock and disbelief as their mouths hung open in confusion.
They took several moments to fully process what they had just heard while the thunderous sound of war in the background still persisted.
"Grey..." Scarlet softly called out in disbelief.
"I’m fine. This doesn’t shake my resolve in the slightest. I will kill all Otherworlders, including him."
"...."
"Great. Our father is on the other side and yours too?" Gunther chuckled dryly with a weary shake of his head.
"Now it all makes sense," Jay uttered with a deep frown.
"What does?" Max questioned with a raised brow.
Turning toward the young man, Jay explained:
"... Think about it. Wasn’t it incredibly weird that the Otherworlders chose today, which is Grey’s actual birthday, to launch this massive attack? Not only that, but they chose the exact same town he was born and grew up in."
"Symbolism..." Kael muttered with a deep crease appearing on his face.
"Exactly. Because he has been a persistent thorn in their backside for a while, his father decided to take him out on the same day he gave birth to him, and in the very town where his story first started," Jay added with a sigh.
Walking forward, Greg placed his hand firmly on the warrior mage’s shoulder.
"... I’m sorry, but your family is truly messed up, man."
"I think we should focus entirely on the war instead," Alba growled at the commentators as she pointed forward toward the clash.
"Come on, when do we join? I want to shred some Otherworlders already!" Killian shouted eagerly as a rush of blood magic was swirling all around his body.
His heart was pounding in fierce anticipation as he was moments away from bursting onto the battlefield.
Amir was the one who replied instead to calm the room down.
"We need to watch for now. If you go in too early, you will all spend precious energy and physical stamina. What will happen when the main threats finally step forward?"
"Amir has an excellent point," Leo chimed in. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"I suppose that’s precisely why Grey hasn’t made a move yet."
The warrior mage was already lost in deep thought as the massive lightning sword in his hand kept crackling with lethal energy while he completely zoned out the conversation around him.
’Come on... Lightning, teleportation, and metal magic... how can I effectively counter those?
He has three core affinities, and I have five along with my ki. But why do I feel like it still won’t be enough? Also... these zodiacs, especially number one, I feel incredibly weird about their true strength.’
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Randin and Kira didn’t relent at all as powerful attacks flew from all directions across the battlefield.
A dark, black mist began trailing from Grey’s hands and soon enough, a familiar crimson-furred wolf materialized directly beside him.
Noir!
"... Decades ago, I had bonded with an Original."
’Huh?’ Grey’s head snapped immediately in the direction of his familiar, caught completely off guard by the revelation.
"Years ago... I fought alongside him in a desperate war against the Otherworlders where we still lost. He died in that conflict, while I was left stranded in Bronzeland, which was exactly where we subsequently met and I bonded to you."
’Okay?’ Grey thought, absorbing the weight of the history.
"... Years later, though I’m no longer bonded to an Original, I’m still standing with a powerful mage who could almost pass for one. And now, we face another war with the exact same foe."
As the wolf spoke, his height and physical size began increasing rapidly, forcing the others to quickly shift away so his massive new dimensions could be accommodated on the ridge.
Soon enough, the wolf had grown as large as a multi-story house.
"But today, it ends."
Bang!
The solid soil bent deeply beneath Noir’s massive paws as he zipped forward with overwhelming speed.
Without a single shred of hesitation, he crashed directly into the dense midst of the oncoming enemies.
Unlike Kira, who focused her efforts on the human infantry, Noir crashed headfirst in front of the heaviest beasts.
Now, his massive jaws opened wide.
A gigantic fireball roared into existence, instantly consuming two beasts that hadn’t been quick enough to react to his sudden presence.
Though the intense heat didn’t completely burn them to cinders like his usual lower-tier foes, their bodies were thoroughly toasted as they crashed heavily into the earth with a loud, resounding thud.
Spinning around with fluid agility, Noir kicked up a massive storm of dust that completely shrouded his area, especially as he could feel more enemy beasts rapidly closing in on his position.
Unhesitatingly, his massive form shrank down to the size of a small pup as he zipped away from the dust cloud far faster than the surrounding beasts could react.
Vaulting high into the air for a brief moment, a bright red glow could be seen gathering on his horns.
TWIP!
A concentrated laser beam burst out with full speed, crashing directly into the forelegs of one of the charging beasts and forcing the massive creature to crash awkwardly into the ground.
Simultaneously, a sharp wind blade from one of the enemy’s magical beasts burst out toward him with terrifying speed.
Noir quickly darted backward through the air as the wind blade crashed violently into the earth with full force, completely ripping the terrain open.
Landing firmly on the ground, the familiar dug into the earth with one of his legs, fixing his intense eyes on the beasts ahead.
Bang!
He was gone again like a complete blur.
