Chapter 2887: 2887. What Could Help

"Looks like you have a little more pep in your step now? How was taking a break?" Su showed herself a little while after Walker had gotten to the breakfast table. He had been with Remey for the past couple of days and now he was finally back to the mansion to eat.

As much fun as learning to make potions related to crafting was, he felt that Remey was starting to get a little too in to it without having a break. Therefore, he had made an excuse to return home and clean himself up, forcing her to take a pause as well.

Not that Su knew much about that so Walker didn’t really bring it up. There was just something about telling another person about the intricacies of saber wasp wax and venom being used to protect metals and woods that seemed a little dull. Then again, to a crafter that would be a riveting conversation.

Especially when someone took in to consideration the benefits of utilizing better ingredients in the crafting formulas.

"Yes, I feel a little different, like I can center myself better than I was.... It was like I was running forward and getting lost trying to say and do what I wanted and needed to do." Walker could understand. She had taken some of the training a bit too far.

Su hadn’t gone beyond a certain line though. She had pushed those training with her to their limits allowing them to become even better than they were. Their knowledge in using their defensive skills was much better. It would help them as they ventured out in to the world in their duties.

Otherwise, she has been emotionally thrown for a loop because she had been trying to deal with the increased pressure of mana and such from Midnight and her bond with Midnight.

It wasn’t their fault though.

Both Midnight and Su had a first hand experience with the fact that parts of dragon history had been forgotten or lost too. Not just the fact that some dragons could become dominator, spirit, or other unique forms of dragons. It was the bonds they created with their traditions.

Traditions that bound people together to protect and help one another grow in certain ways had an end, not necessarily an end clean cut and perfect, but a change that moved on to something new.

"I feel like Midnight and I were a little too close. We both got stronger and we were starting to clash, you know?" This calmer Su was different from her more energetic and brutal style as of late. It clearly proved to Walker that she had been under some effects as a draconic guardian out of the usual.

It also proved that she could now understand better what she was doing and where she was going as a person trying to get stronger.

"I can understand what you mean. My binds with Midnight and Onyx are different. They can benefit from my mana and affinities. They can’t get overwhelmed though, it’s held back by the skills used to form the bond. But your bond was different, it was more open because you needed it to be, to be what the dragon’s intended it to be."

"It also wasn’t what the dragons believed would happen in the long run. I am starting to think that since the more ancient dragons got stuck or traveled to the elemental planes, they took some knowledge held to themselves as elders or leaders with them. They might have kept it from their records because it was safer for the younger dragons."

Seeming to contemplate that a little more, Su hummed to herself a little. "I think you are right, there were strong dragons who used to teach these things before they were gone. Nowadays draconic guardians and champions don’t live long enough to get strong enough to change their bonds with one another. Midnight and I will need to lead that for the future until it is documented properly."

She was also considering that there was a lot of research that had to happen with this. Especially for the fact that different variants of dragons would need different manas, skills, and steps to take toward changing their bonds and the proper rituals associated.

Midnight and Su had succeeded based on their instincts and knowledge of one another. Others might not have it that easy.

"I think I will take a walk out in the wilderness, it might be good for me to be alone for a few days." With a nod Walker agreed. Being able to understand herself would help Su in the future so it wasn’t anything to be upset about. Especially since she had clearly grown a bit with how her bond with Midnight changed as well.

"Good, because I just showed up to drag Walker away. I have someone for him to meet." Gil had been trying to sneak up on them but he knew all too well that the pair realized he was present and had just been nice enough not to say anything. But it was still a little training for Gil’s stealth skills he could use when he was scouting out trails for everyone.

"You seem like you have been busy Gil?" Su could tell just by looking at Gil’s face. He hadn’t been sleeping as much as he should even though none of them really needed that much sleep with how strong they were.

Yet, Su was able to tell when someone was run down and needed some rest. "I need a little sleep but it will be fine. I have been working on something a bit more important to the merchant guild and the elves. I can let you both know since you are able to keep it under wraps. But I am worried about it when people start to know more."

Now the two were pretty interested. Su and Walker were leaning in waiting to hear what was stressing Gil.

"I have a young apprentice who was working in a warehouse. The company she worked with went another direction and basically abandoned the warehouse. They were still getting deliveries, she panicked and tried to make it work. In the end she gained a spatial skill and now has a warehouse in her spatial storage that holds a ton of items and can grow to do more if she has the chance."

Su’s eyes widened as she realized that having such a thing made the younger apprentice a spatial magic user and also a valuable asset to anyone that wished to have her bring items anywhere. Let alone when there was a time of need and the warehouse she and in spatial storage could contain vitally important materials or medicines.

"So you want me to help her?" Walker was sure this would be based on spatial mana, but there had to be more too.

"Yes, she needs to store rarer items to gain experience and catalog them. It’s almost similar to those with collector classes of sorts. But for her she is weaker because of the draw on her because of her skills being so costly. If you have her store some of the items you have, then he would grow enough to handle the burden."

This was the first hurdle and one of the reasons state Gil had to be keeping it a secret. Both of them understood that the girl would struggle to keep herself safe and guards would always be necessary. But right this second, the focus was making sure she would be able to handle growing on her own.

With the protection and secrecy she would be fine, but that was for the moment, not for forever. Once it got out that she had this unique class merchants would be ready to fight over her. Just to recruit her even if it was temporary.

"Walker can help you, and if you need someone to guard her you can ask me. But I will be going to the wilderness for a couple of days so make do without me until I get back." Nodding along, Gil agreed since he knew that Su had a need to be alone for a time.

"Then you and I can head out and handle what we need to handle. I have a few grand potions from Remey, rare metals, and even some tools that she can store and see if she gains more skills. I bet she will even benefit from storing some of the old armor I haven’t passed on to anyone else yet." Walker was interested and Gil knew that was a very good thing. It would solve the problems he had to solve right away.

It would take a short bit of time to ensure that there were results. That would be ideal for everyone involved.
