Master Of None
Chapter 2889. Interesting Class Details
"Lunar tea leaves?" Walker looked at the slightly excited and also tired face of Bea. Gil had stayed here the whole time just as excited as the others recording the information to see how and what happened with each item stored.
The spatial warehouse skill was allowing Bea to store more and more with less stress and it was working. It was also giving clearer examples for how much experience her class gained when certain items were stored.
"That one was three hundred experience for the first and then only two hundred for the second one." Bea was feeling like she had seen a whole new way of doing things. Especially with the simple fact that she better understood her own class now.
There was still room to grow.
"Less profitable than you storing the molding earth staff. That staff is something I used as a reward for a quest and they will be collecting it soon. It’s good to know that unique weapons and equipment will hold more value for your experience gains." Walker tested this with a few other shields, chestplates, and boots all proving that they had more consistent value in experience gain for Bea.
It was the materials that had lesser value and would decrease in experience gained which could be the benefits of getting the first of that material. The same was for food and other items that degraded over time.
That was where the key point lay though.
Anything that could degrade, continued to do so. It was not a purely spatial skill. The warehouse that had been brought in to the skill was still as it was, but it was part of the skill now. Time still moved, manas moved through the entire warehouse, and there was a chance that items might get damaged or anything could happen as in a normal warehouse.
Therefore, the skill was more of a safety net to protect the warehouse overall. It functioned the same but it was within a special storage skill like the portable forge or alchemy lab that Walker had overall. The skills were similar but different.
Whereas Bea’s skill allowed the warehouse to be a basis for how she gained experience and how she could expand other skills.
One additional skill being the warehouse manifest skill which kept everything in her mind. The entire inventory was a thought away for her now rather than needed to walk through and count everything.
She also gained the passive cost profit skill. This allowed her to track what she purchases items under, what their current value was, and what she sold them at. It would be an immense boon for her when she sold or bought items. It also helped her understand the current value of an item she possessed even though she might not necessarily get the information directly..
This was because she had ties to the merchant guild. Therefore, this skill as a passive skill interacted with the world in a way that whatever happened within the guild would document for her, the current price.
Therefore only items without prices or that hadn’t been made or sold yet would be mysterious for her. A rarity for most merchants, but Walker had already had her store a few items like that.
The response was a decent chunk of experience but her skills not giving her additional information. This caused everyone to make notes proving that this class was not necessarily related to appraisal enough to value or do anything related to proving value. It was all about current values in the world.
"I leveled up again! I am level fifteen now!" This was a great thing to hear, Bea was even happier now.
She had not expected that she would be able to level up this much and didn’t expect it to happen unless she had the funding and effort to back it herself. Yet, here she was able to level up because she was being helped. Beyond that, she was learning more and more about what her class was and who she could trust to help her without someone pushing her to pay them back.
"Still no appraisal skill appearing. Maybe there is special training we can apply to help you gain an appraisal skill. Many merchants have a skill like that but you never possessed one which held you back and pushed you in to the warehouse. That is what these records say, but I believe that might be a good thing here."
One of the researchers who were documenting everything to be archived within the grand library spoke up. He was usually focused on the elf side of research and documentation, and that was still true here, but this was also a class others may gain later in history.
"If you had an appraisal skill, you would potentially stop storing certain items and lose out on development. I believe that the will of the world and existence are keeping you from gaining the skill because the class is made to hold, buy, and sell. It is made to interact with others."
This was a sound theory and a few of the researchers and archivists had managed to bring up similar points. To them, they were already classifying this new class as one that existed to interact and bring certain aspects of merchant groups together rather than to be a one and all class able to appraise, store, and sell without issue.
"I can hire good appraisal experts. That won’t be an issue once I have my feet under me. I can already store and take out five things without problems!" Bea had started to show so much energy. It was even better knowing that this was one thing Gil wanted to work toward.
He had worried that Bea might be dragged in to the mud by the chaos of dealing with merchants and cut through business. Now, she has been able to get out of her hyper focused planning for her future and just enjoy the class that had seemed to be holding her back just a short while ago.
"Store this." Walker pulled out a small ball, it looked like nothing that important but he wanted to see what would happen. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
As Bea picked it up she realized it was a wooden ball. It looked like it was just a carved piece of wood with small holes in it that didn’t seem to do anything. But once she used her skill and it fell in to place within the warehouse, her eyes widened with shock.
"That was over a thousand experience points! But it doesn’t tell me what it is!"
"That, is because it is a tree golem core. There are very few of them and they are not sold to anyone. They are an item that can only be taken from a living tree golem and something that I have stored so that I could give it to Gil and he can give it to Alma later. That way a few other newer classes can try and utilize it."
Walker shrugged and Gil gave a single nod. He knew that there were some nature golem mages who had been using their skills to make whicker golems and other similar golems to control. But this would be a good chance for them to make a more naturally forming golem.
When he looked over, he also saw that Bea was acting a lot more open and was even pointing to some of the notes that were taken about her class. She had been branching out and explaining how it felt when the mana was used.
It was clear that the high mana cost came from the active flowing mana that her skills and class needed. Therefore, she would need to make sure she was always in good condition to use her skills efficiently.
The class needed her mana to keep the skill working meaning that she naturally had a part of her natural mana pool taken up. Not that it actually consumed all her mana when she used it. Meaning that as long as she kept that in mind she would not have a single issue keeping herself functional and clear headed.
"Can I store your armor?" Bea suddenly asked Gil this and he gave a small smirk. He expected her to ask about Walker’s gear or weapons, but seeing that she looked at him proved her bond with the leven race and how she would not be putting them aside. That investing the time with her now was valuable for everyone in the long run.
"I think you should also look at following a path to awaken your high elf bloodline. It should help your mana efficiency passively." Walker continued chatting with his theories before they fell back in to testing the skills. But he knew he would have to put an end to this soon, he had to keep working on everything else too.
