"Young, yet experienced in the ways of the world and incredibly cautious. Ye Liangchen, you’re very impressive," Lao Liu said admiringly, despite his awkwardness. "I am indeed not the Master. My name is Long Tianhao. The Master had to attend to something urgent and couldn’t come, so he specifically delegated me to meet you."

Ye Xiu sneered inwardly. The Master is probably just scared of running into Huang Quan and doesn’t dare come to Guoyang. Aloud, he said, "I don’t believe you’re from the Long Family. Get Long Xiaoyun out here. If he says you’re from the Long Family, then I’ll believe you."

"Long Xiaoyun is already dead," Long Tianhao said with a frown.

Ye Xiu suppressed a laugh. Heh, if Long Xiaoyun weren’t already dead, I wouldn’t have asked you to bring him out... He then asked, "Did you kill him?"

"It wasn’t me. Ming Yue killed him," Long Tianhao replied.

"Haha, do you take me for a fool?" Ye Xiu sneered. "Everyone in the country knows the Ming Family is begging in Jin Ye City. How could Ye Xiu possibly allow her to come to Guoyang? Besides, Ming Yue is just an ordinary person. How could she kill Long Xiaoyun? I think you were worried Long Xiaoyun would expose your identity, so you deliberately killed him to silence him."

Long Tianhao suddenly found himself unable to argue. Ye Liangchen’s suspicion was perfectly logical, and he had no evidence to prove he was from the Long Family or that he hadn’t been the one to kill Long Xiaoyun. This was a real headache. The Master had sent him in disguise to meet Ye Liangchen, but his cover was blown right at the start, and now he was suspected of not even being a Long Family member. How the hell was he supposed to continue the mission?

He looked toward Tang Bo. "Aren’t you going to say something?"

"Say what?" Tang Bo asked coolly.

Irritated by his useless teammate, Long Tianhao took a deep breath. "Say what? I want you to say something to prove I’m from the Long Family."

"If you can’t prove it yourself, how can I?" Tang Bo retorted.

Ye Xiu’s eyes lit up. This guy is a brutally honest man. Interesting!

"It seems my only option is to go back and report to the Master," Long Tianhao sighed, too tired to argue with Tang Bo any further.

"Even if the Master came in person, he wouldn’t be able to prove his identity," Tang Bo cut in with another sharp remark.

Tang Bo’s words nearly made Long Tianhao’s composure crumble, but he had to admit the man had a point. Ye Liangchen didn’t know the Master, so even if the Master stood right in front of him, he still wouldn’t believe it.

"As long as the Master comes himself, I have my own way of verifying his identity," Ye Xiu stated.

This piqued the curiosity of both Long Tianhao and Tang Bo. "What way?" Long Tianhao asked.

Tang Bo curled his lip. "Ye Liangchen, you’re quite the braggart. You’ve never even met the Master, so how could you confirm his identity?"

"You’ll know when the Master arrives," Ye Xiu said mysteriously.

"Alright!" Long Tianhao nodded helplessly. "On my own authority, I’m giving you the Long Family Manor. Just wait here. I’ll go consult the Master and be back soon." With that, he hurried off, too annoyed to deal with Tang Bo any longer.

Seeing this, Ye Xiu began to laugh. His reason for exposing Long Tianhao’s identity and questioning if he was truly a Long Family member was precisely to force him to fetch the Master. Ye Xiu was confident the Master would come personally because he had another move prepared—one that would force the Master out of Hundred Flowers Valley.

"What are you laughing at?" Tang Bo asked coolly, noticing Ye Xiu’s grin nearly reached the back of his head.

"A good laugh makes you ten years younger," Ye Xiu replied casually, sizing up Tang Bo. "Have you lived with the Long Family your whole life?"

"What if I have?" Tang Bo challenged.

Ye Xiu chuckled. Every sentence out of this guy’s mouth was infuriating. "How many times have you been to the city?"

"None of your damn business," Tang Bo shot back.

Ye Xiu felt he couldn’t talk to Tang Bo anymore. The guy was a true conversation Terminator. If they kept at it, he might not be able to stop himself from throwing a punch. Yet, he had to keep talking; he still wanted to pry more intel about the Long Family from him.

"You seem a bit hostile toward me. Why is that?" he asked.

"You’re not worthy of my hostility," Tang Bo said proudly. Of course, this was only half-true.

He did feel some hostility toward Ye Xiu—or more precisely, some annoyance. This was partly because the Master had said Ye Liangchen’s Medical Skills surpassed his own. Once Ye Liangchen joined the Long Family, he would become the second-best medical practitioner. As the Master’s disciple, he was supposed to be number one in Medical Skills in the Long Family, the most talented non-family member, and had already possessed strength surpassing a War God at a young age. All this made him look down on Ye Liangchen.

"If you’re not hostile, then why is every sentence you say so aggressive?" Ye Xiu asked.

"Because I feel like it. What’re you gonna do about it?" Tang Bo asked with a glare.

At that, Ye Xiu truly lost all desire to speak with Tang Bo, let alone get any information about the Long Family out of him. The guy’s mouth was just too damn annoying.

"Hey, where are you going?" Tang Bo asked, seeing Ye Xiu suddenly turn and walk away mid-conversation.

"None of your damn business," Ye Xiu replied.

Tang Bo was rendered speechless. After a moment’s hesitation, he followed Ye Xiu.

Ye Xiu walked to a nearby mall and bought new bedding, toiletries, and other daily necessities. He had no intention of using anything the Long Family had touched.

He didn’t buy anything for Tang Bo.

Tang Bo, however, didn’t seem to mind.

Returning to the Long Family Manor, Ye Xiu chose Long Wu’s villa. He threw out all the bedding and other household items inside, replacing them with his new purchases. Then he started to head out again.

"What are you doing now?" Tang Bo asked.

"None of your damn business," Ye Xiu retorted.

Tang Bo took a deep breath, forcefully repressing the urge to run Ye Xiu through with a spear, and followed him out once more.
