Chapter 1090: My Condolences

Although people were friends, when their power reached a certain threshold, friendships no longer applied, just like Anthony’s level at the moment; there was simply no conceivable way he could remain friends with Tiara and the rest... well, according to Elara Bloodmoon.

’Does she have any form of sexual relationship with Anthony?’ the Blood Queen reasoned internally as she walked; that seemed like the only plausible explanation that could make Tiara this confident and composed. She definitely had to be sleeping with Anthony; in her mind, that was the most logical conclusion given Tiara’s sudden boldness.

If Anthony could hear the Blood Queen’s thoughts at this very moment, he would immediately spit out whatever he was eating and promptly move to clear all sorts of misunderstandings; after all, these types of misunderstandings were extraordinarily dangerous, especially when one was already in a relationship.

Tiara came to a stop, her eyes fixed on the Blood Queen for a brief moment. A faint smile appeared on her lips as her heart beat slightly out of rhythm, her heartbeat increasing ever so subtly in excitement due to the exchange of words they had just shared, an exchange that carried more weight than it seemed on the surface.

After walking for a short while and crossing various rooms and corridors, the Blood Queen arrived at another chamber, one that was seemingly more secured and fortified than any other room within the Blood Castle. Within the room, one could sense the hidden presence of various Planetary-level powerhouses she had personally assigned to keep constant watch over her son’s body, their auras carefully concealed yet undeniably present.

She walked upon the surface of the blue blood with deliberate steps and lowered herself as she sat upon it, gently caressing the blood-red hair of her son with a tenderness that contrasted sharply with her usual cold demeanor. "Wait a bit longer for me; Mom will soon bring you back," she spoke softly with a love-filled tone that carried deep maternal resolve.

After a moment, she stood up from where she was and left the chamber, heading directly toward the room where Anthony was waiting. To her, every second she delayed could mean the chances of bringing her son back were diminishing further and further, a thought that weighed heavily on her mind.

The Blood Queen didn’t respond verbally; instead, she walked forward and handed him the list she had prepared. Anthony simply took it and flipped through it as though he had returned to his days of being a corporate slave, scanning through documents without much interest. He read through every artefact and treasure listed, and indeed, the Blood Queen was beyond rich; calling her merely rich would have been an insult to the sheer magnitude of her accumulated wealth, as even the concept of wealth itself could not adequately quantify it.

Although there remained a slim 1% chance she had something he didn’t, he had come for that very 1% just to satisfy his curiosity, but alas... reality did not favor her.

The Blood Queen’s expression immediately crumbled; the artefacts and items on that list were things she had spent decades and even centuries relentlessly chasing and acquiring, and yet none of them managed to elicit even the slightest reaction from Anthony, not even a flicker of interest. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"It seems we couldn’t come to an agreement, Blood Queen, a pity," Anthony stated as he casually swung his foot off the table. He pushed the chair backward as he rose to his feet with a composed posture. "My condolences for your loss; although I didn’t know your son, I understand the pain you feel as a mother," he added like a final gentleman, and with those concluding words, he walked past the Blood Queen and headed toward the door without any further delay or hesitation.

Although it vexed her slightly, she understood that if she were in his position, she might have done the exact same thing; after all, at their level of existence, no one extended help out of pity or sentimental reasons, as such emotions were considered trivial and largely irrelevant.
