Chapter 1122: Blood Servant
Hearing Mitchelle’s words, Anthony smiled; he understood where she and everyone was coming from, but Anthony didn’t feel that way. He was the one with the cheat; besides, they themselves couldn’t even head to the Upper Galaxies, and expecting them to have a way to ascend him was just plain madness, a notion that seemed not only unrealistic but also fundamentally impossible given the constraints they themselves were bound by.
"I’m just doing what any son out there would do; after all, there is no way I can just leave my family and vanish," Anthony replied, his smile still remaining.
In the novels he had read in his past life on Earth, Anthony couldn’t understand how main characters could just step into an Upper Galaxy or realm or whatever, leaving their family behind without any method of returning to them if they wanted, all in the name of getting to the absolute peak.
To Anthony, that was stupid, irrational even, something that defied the very essence of familial bonds. What if they died? What if they never returned? That would be the last time the parents saw their child.
’Well, they are called fantasy novels for a reason; they are all fantasies,’ Anthony mused, but at the same time, it made sense, at least to a certain extent that he couldn’t outright deny.
If people within the Acarnis Galaxy got the Calling or Beckoning, they would say their goodbyes to their families, then leave; after all, the temptation of ascending higher was immense, an irresistible pull that promised power, growth, and transcendence beyond one’s current limits.
So, while it sounded stupid to him, he paradoxically understood them, recognizing that desire and ambition could often outweigh logic and emotional attachment.
’If I didn’t have these cheats, would I leave my parents behind?’ Anthony asked himself, the question lingering within his mind. ’Well, eventually I would have thought of the Mirror Dimension method,’ he mused to himself, acknowledging that even without his current advantages, he would have still sought a solution, a path that allowed him to pursue strength without severing his ties.
As Anthony was lost in his thoughts, Michael’s voice came calmly.
"So, what is this method you want to use to force the hand of whoever or whatever gives out this Calling?" Michael asked. He was confident that if Anthony, his baby monster, said it, then he could certainly pull it off; after all, Anthony had been delivering one miracle after another.
Anthony stayed silent for a moment before he began to speak; he decided not to hide anything. His parents and grandparents had always had absolute trust in him, so there was no need to lie or hide anything.
"Upon awakening at the age of ten, I awakened an ability none of you know about," he began to speak, but before he could even go further, Irene spoke, her voice carrying a light teasing tone.
"You seem to have awakened so many abilities, Anthony," Irene teased as she looked at him with a smile, her expression reflecting both amusement and mild disbelief at just how many extraordinary capabilities he seemed to possess.
Anthony merely shook his head as he continued, "The ability is blood-related; it’s called Blood Servant. It works by a third party drinking my blood, and just like the name suggests, anyone who is affected by this ability becomes my servant; they become absolutely loyal to the death. In other words, even my greatest enemies in life can become my greatest servants," he explained, his eyes carefully reading their expressions for any type of negative reaction, prepared to address any concern that might arise from such a revelation.
Irene, Collins, Michael, and Mitchelle didn’t need Anthony to spell it out to know this was the method he was going to use. As for their reaction towards the functions and effects of the Blood Servant ability, they had none. As beings who were over a thousand years old at minimum, they’ve seen various types of mind control, soul manipulation, and psychic restriction abilities than they could count; to them, Anthony’s own was just one more.
But did they have an issue with Anthony using this ability on them? They didn’t, as long as it didn’t change their personality or turn them into extreme fanatics or something like that, they were fine with it; after all, it wasn’t like they were going to betray their son.
"Blood Servant has two functions; I’ve already mentioned one. The second is that it elevates the talent of whoever drinks my blood to the highest point possible. But it doesn’t just elevate talent in one aspect, but in every single parameter, even mundane things like singing, gaming, or even things you can’t do, like father becoming a mage; it skyrockets your talent in everything," Anthony continued. "So, in other words, the limitations placed on you by your awakened class are bypassed entirely, allowing you to transcend the very framework that once defined your capabilities."
Anthony’s words left them speechless and stunned; the fact that they could break the limitations of their awakened class was already madness, but now, they were being told this Blood Servant pushed and awakened talent for everything in every aspect possible to the very peak.
"Anthony, I hope you aren’t joking around," Collins couldn’t help but ask, his usual flat and stone-carved expression gone as even he was left stunned, his composure momentarily shaken by the sheer magnitude of what he was hearing.
"I wish I was, Grandpa," Anthony replied as he shook his head. "But as I’ve said before, this ability came with the loyal servant-to-the-death function, so I couldn’t bring myself to give it to you all these years, which was why I used the fruit from earlier as a substitute," Anthony explained.
They all nodded their heads as that made perfect sense; they couldn’t help but smile. If Anthony had wanted, he wouldn’t have told them about the servant perk, but he had, which they appreciated deeply. It didn’t increase their trust in him, because there was nothing to increase; their trust was already absolute.
"Well, as long as we don’t become puppets, or some hollow beings who can’t think unless given orders, or some fanatics with a drastic change in personality, then I have no problem with it," Mitchelle spoke with a calm smile on her face, her tone steady and reassuring as she voiced what the others were already thinking.
Everyone else nodded; they had already forgotten about the servant part, and they were looking forward to the talent upgrade itself, who didn’t want an upgrade in talent, especially one that promised to elevate them beyond their current limits and into a realm of unprecedented capability and mastery?
