MIGHT AS WELL BE OP
Chapter 1149: To Kill
The Demon King’s projection and the God’s projection lay on the floor, utterly stunned as they looked at Anthony seated calmly with his legs crossed, addressing them with such casual ease and indifference as though he were looking down on them from an entirely different existence altogether.
The Demon King and God looked at each other for a moment before they slowly rose to their feet. Yes, they had talked about him reaching their level before, but it had to be known that none of their own subordinates, Demon or Angel alike, could destroy their projections, yet Anthony had shattered them with nothing but a single punch.
They couldn’t help but think that maybe they had underestimated him despite being careful and cautious from the very beginning.
’Such battle experience,’ the Demon King thought as he rose to his feet. Although he had battled Anthony a few months back, it should still have been impossible to possess such combat prowess and instinctive refinement at such a ridiculously young age.
"Well, that was refreshing," the Demon King stated as he returned to his usual carefree and playful demeanor.
"You know," he continued speaking, "sometimes, I wonder if you are the reincarnation of some old being from the ancient eras and forgotten eons, or perhaps someone from an Upper Galaxy who fled here after being defeated in battle, therefore taking over Anthony’s body," he mused out loud as he stated his theory while dusting sand and debris from his body with a lazy motion.
To the Demon King, it was the only thing that remotely made sense anymore. After all, even if Anthony was abnormal, how did he even know of Ascension and the existence of Upper Galaxies?
Anthony arched a brow at the Demon King’s words. He didn’t react, nor did his expression shift in the slightest, he simply smiled faintly at the man. He wasn’t bothered or nervous that the Demon King had mentioned reincarnation. After all, reincarnation was pretty much a natural occurrence in the grand scheme of existence.
He had seen a few reincarnated individuals during the Starborn Tournament when the Overseer checked people’s ages and origins. It was a natural phenomenon, something some people even tried to activate on their own by transferring their souls into another body after death.
"Are you done with your speech?" Anthony asked, his demeanor still exactly the same as he waited for the Demon King and God to make a move.
Anthony raised a hand and snapped his fingers, immediately activating Quantum Manipulation. Using it, he reinforced everything within the Rogue Planet; the trees, the land, the sea, the sky, the planet itself, all of it, enhancing everything to possess durability akin to that of Constellations.
This Rogue Planet was going to become a battlefield.
"Thank you for setting the stage," the Demon King projection mused as he spoke.
The God’s projection simply remained silent as he didn’t speak, maintaining his higher being demeanor and overwhelming divine presence as though everything around him was beneath acknowledgment.
As the Demon King finished speaking, he and the God immediately tore forward, both of them attacking at the exact same time, barely a picosecond even passing. The Demon King attacked from the right, his black fist tearing towards Anthony’s temple as he aimed to burst his head apart instantly. God attacked from the left, his golden-white knee collapsing towards Anthony’s chest with the force and weight of a dying star.
Air, space, time, and reality itself bent and distorted with just the movement of their bodies, showing the sheer amount of monstrous power such simple attacks carried behind them.
Seeing the incoming attacks, Anthony’s smile slowly turned into a grin. He had been doing a lot of slice-of-life activities lately, and he had wanted to deal with the Demon King and God for quite some time now. Although they were merely projections, it didn’t matter to him in the slightest, it was more than enough to lift his boredom and entertain him for a while.
With that, his hands blurred upwards, his right hand catching the Demon King’s fist, his left hand stopping God’s knee attack completely in place, each motion perfect, the block seamless, effortless, and almost insulting in its simplicity.
Before the Demon King could even react properly, Anthony clamped down on their limbs and immediately flung them in opposite directions as though they were nothing more than weightless ragdolls incapable of resisting him.
The God’s projection smashed against a forest with a brutal blast, the force tearing up a massive storm wall of sand, shattered earth, and debris as he rolled backward violently, a deep chasm yawned open from the God’s throw and collision alone, splitting apart the reinforced landscape.
The God immediately rose to his feet, his eyes snapping towards Anthony’s direction, but Anthony was already gone. He was upon the God instantly, his knee streaking towards the God’s chest as he used the exact same attack the God had used against him earlier.
But the God was no pushover. He had billions upon billions of years of combat experience, his reflexes faster than thought itself. His forearm immediately shot upwards as he blocked. With thundering might, Anthony’s knee met the God’s forearm, the impact ruinous as the God’s forearm immediately exploded outward in a burst of glowing light motes and divine fragments.
As Anthony was about to unleash another attack, the Demon King had already arrived from where he had been thrown, a wide grin on his face as he very clearly enjoyed this exchange.
Anthony immediately abandoned the God’s projection, his body turning fluidly, his back now facing the God’s projection as he instantly caught the Demon King by the face. Then he turned again, now facing the God’s projection once more, and with the force of a comet crashing through worlds, he smashed the Demon King’s skull directly into the God’s face with catastrophic force.
With a deafening boom, both of them tore backward, their bodies like kites caught within a violent cosmic storm, but they immediately caught themselves, their bodies twisting as their feet slammed into the earth while they skidded to a stop across the broken battlefield. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The God’s projection immediately regenerated its pulverized forearm and damaged face without hesitation. The Demon King’s shattered skull also regenerated almost instantly as their eyes stared at the twenty-year-old child who wasn’t even up to a fraction of their age or the immeasurable amount of experience they had lived through across countless eras.
Anthony’s steps were calm and unhurried, there was absolutely no need for him to rush. He intended to savor this moment thoroughly after being bored for so long.
"Shall we get this battle rolling, boys?" his voice eager, inviting, and disturbingly casual.
The smile and playful demeanor on the Demon King’s face were already completely gone. Although he played around a lot, he knew exactly when to be serious and when to fool around. Anthony had toyed with him three times now, the time for games had officially come to an end.
It was finally time to show why he was called the Ruler Of the Abyss.
Although he was just a projection, this projection was still stronger than his soul clone by an overwhelming margin.
The God’s face had also twisted into a deep frown, his calm and superior demeanor completely gone now as killing intent flickered openly within his ’eyes.’
The next moment, Chaos Energy and Faith Energy boomed violently into the air with maddening force as they both enhanced their projections even further. Their knees dipped forward, the earth beneath their feet groaning as massive spiderweb cracks appeared everywhere around them, and with speeds faster than light itself, they shot forward with only one singular intent in mind; to kill.
