Ethan Grant picked up Serena Sullivan and drove to Claire Sullivan’s place.

The car was parked in the spot outside the complex, and Ethan carefully helped Serena out.

Over such a long time, in taking care of Serena, he had become increasingly adept and cautious.

After closing the car door, he pushed Serena towards the inside of the complex. After walking a few steps, he stopped and turned his head to look at the cars not far away.

"What’s wrong?"

Serena asked.

Ethan came back to his senses and smiled, "It’s nothing!"

"Let’s go!"

He continued to push Serena in, until they reached Claire Sullivan’s house. The door opened from the inside, and Serena looked up, a familiar face immediately meeting her eyes.

"Serena!"

Wyatt Sterling arrived a step before Serena and, seeing her at the door, cheerfully took over pushing the wheelchair to bring her in.

Ethan felt a pang seeing someone taking Serena away, wanting to reclaim her.

Back in Solaria, whenever a suitor appeared around Serena, he would get rid of them.

In the Imperial Capital, there were no suitors, but there were three brothers.

Ethan couldn’t get rid of these three, having to find ways to please his brothers-in-law.

"Uncle Felix is here too."

Serena noticed the man coming out of the kitchen and greeted him with a smile.

"Your mom couldn’t handle it all by herself, so I came over to lend a hand," Felix Lockwood replied.

He knew Claire had invited Serena and Wyatt for a meal, so he stood guard at the door early in the morning.

As a guest, Claire couldn’t just turn him away.

Felix was very diligent, helping her with the work after coming in, not treating himself as an outsider at all.

"Serena."

Claire Sullivan, hearing that Serena had arrived, came out of the kitchen joyfully, "Dinner is almost ready."

She was wearing cotton slippers and an apron, looking completely different from the usual Claire Sullivan.

When managing The Sullivan Corporation, Claire was very busy, yet always dressed in high heels and suits, with delicate makeup.

After marrying Joel Quinn, she was even more elegantly dressed, unwilling to cook or even step into the kitchen to fetch a pair of chopsticks.

Today, she had stepped down from her pedestal, enveloped in a homely aura.

Serena smiled faintly, while Wyatt, sitting beside her, started praising Claire’s cooking, saying how lucky and happy Serena was.

Serena waited until he almost finished, then replied with a smile, "Today is my first time eating her cooking."

Claire had excellent cooking skills, which Serena had only discovered recently.

Wyatt looked at Serena in confusion, clearly not believing her words.

"She was busy with her career when she was young, having no time to cook."

The smile on Serena’s lips faded slightly; back then, Claire was busy and also couldn’t let it go.

For a man, she disregarded her image to cook, only to be abandoned in the end. That hurdle couldn’t be overcome even after more than twenty years.

If not trying to make up for the sake of Serena and her brother, Claire would still be immersed in the past, refusing to let go!

The words from Serena caused Claire, who was bringing in the dishes, a burst of pain in her heart. After understanding it, the feeling of guilt towards Serena grew stronger.

Each dish was placed on the table, and just by looking at the colors and combinations, one could tell that Claire’s cooking skills were indeed excellent.

Claire kept adding food to Serena’s bowl and occasionally turned to look at Wyatt on the other side. She had never thought there would come a day when she could sit quietly eating with her children.

The current scene was like a dream she had for years.

With children, the whole family was together in harmony.

The only difference was that the man sitting beside her was Felix, not the man she once loved!
