However, after Finn Chandler finished speaking, Mrs. Ford was stunned, and beside her, Julian Ford couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Finn Chandler looked at Julian Ford in confusion. Why was he laughing, and so happily at that?

Did she say something wrong?

"Chuchu, even if my mom didn’t like you, she wouldn’t snub you in front of me," Julian Ford said with a smile, barely suppressing it.

Finn Chandler’s actions and words made him unable to hold back his laughter, and thus, his gaze towards her grew even more tender.

"Besides," Julian Ford held Finn Chandler’s hand and had her sit down, "you are carrying her precious grandson."

"If you get angry and decide not to have the baby, how long would she have to wait to hold a grandson?"

Upon hearing this, Finn Chandler realized that things were different now, as she was pregnant with Julian Ford’s child.

Why was she so nervous today, always saying the wrong thing?

But what did Mrs. Ford mean by giving her a bank card?

"Great imagination," Mrs. Ford said lightly, taking a sip of her tea, "but poor reasoning."

"You married Julian Ford, what does that have to do with me? Why should I like you?"

Mrs. Ford’s retort left Finn Chandler dumbfounded.

It was nothing like she had imagined.

Didn’t the Ford Family care about social class?

Didn’t Mrs. Ford want her son to marry a more suitable heiress?

Seeing Finn Chandler’s puzzled eyes, Mrs. Ford continued, "This card is for you to buy clothes."

"Knowing you were coming to meet me, and Julian Ford didn’t take you to get some nice outfits."

So that’s what it was about.

Finn Chandler felt relieved, not as nervous as before.

"I knew Mom would give her money to spend, so of course, I didn’t go shopping with her," Julian Ford chimed in, smiling at Finn Chandler, "Take the card, use it up, and ask Mom for more when it’s done."

"Oh," Finn Chandler replied while looking at the card in her hand, deep in thought.

This meeting was completely different from what she had imagined.

Looking at Mrs. Ford again, her face remained cool, without much of a smile.

Next, the three of them ate their meal seriously, with Julian Ford chatting with Finn Chandler and occasionally asking Mrs. Ford a question or two.

After finishing her meal, Mrs. Ford stood up and said, "Alright, I’ve seen the person, had my meal, I’m leaving."

Saying so, Mrs. Ford walked out of the room first.

Finn Chandler stood up to see her off, intending to escort her downstairs, but Julian Ford pulled her back.

"You haven’t finished eating."

Meaning Finn Chandler hadn’t finished her meal, no need to see Mrs. Ford off.

Worried that Mrs. Ford might be upset, thinking she was impolite, Finn Chandler tried to follow, but Mrs. Ford waved her off at the door, "No need for formalities, we’re family."

This statement clarified Mrs. Ford’s attitude, so Finn Chandler didn’t insist and returned to the room to eat.

Earlier, while Mrs. Ford was there, she had eaten very gracefully and slowly.

As Young Master Chambers, she couldn’t eat too elegantly in public; otherwise, she seemed too feminine.

She had to eat more roughly.

So, with Mrs. Ford present, she tried her best to be elegant.

Sometimes, being a woman is harder than being a man.

"Eat more," Julian Ford said as he picked up some food and placed it in her bowl. He noticed Finn Chandler was nervous and dared not eat much in front of Mrs. Ford.

"Why did your mom leave so quickly?" Finn Chandler asked in confusion, without inquiring about her family’s situation or job.

"She’s met you,"

Julian Ford replied with a smile, "She’s satisfied."

Finn Chandler blushed at his words, "But she didn’t ask about me."

"No need," Julian Ford answered with a laugh, "I’m the one marrying a wife, it has nothing to do with her."

"She just has to wait to hold her grandson."
