Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 18: Never Say Thank You
The nurses were buzzing with excitement, so much so that it was impossible to ignore, like a frenzied celebrity chase.
Cecilia Vaughn glanced blankly towards the door.
Only then did she notice a group of doctors walking in from outside, clad in white and blue coats that were distinctly different from those at Stellerton Naturopathic Hospital.
They moved in a disciplined, almost theatrical manner, as if they were performing a scene from a drama.
Especially the young man at the forefront; though everyone wore the same clothes, he had a distinct aura about him.
The man was tall and slender, with clean and sharp facial lines, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses added to his refined demeanor; his expression was gentle yet exuded an indescribable nobility.
...
Cecilia Vaughn merely glanced over them briefly; her mind was preoccupied with Evan Vaughn’s situation, so she couldn’t focus on these irrelevant people.
She anxiously looked at the attending doctor.
"Doctor, where is the team you mentioned?"
Since they were in Stellerton, she couldn’t afford to miss them!
To Cecilia’s surprise, the attending doctor, who was over fifty, was as excited as a young boy, eagerly pointing her direction.
"Oh my God, look, how coincidental, that’s the top international surgical team I was talking about."
"See the young man at the front? That’s Zion Prescott! The new medical heir of The Prescott Family!"
Cecilia listened in a daze, and the attending physician quickly realized she didn’t know much about The Prescott Family and proceeded to explain.
...
The Prescott Family is the most renowned medical family in Veridia, boasting a legacy that stretches back centuries. Old Mr. Prescott’s miraculous healing skills are so impressive that he’s known as the contemporary Divine Healer.
In recent years, even as traditional medicine waned, every one of Old Mr. Prescott’s cases never went awry, and he even cured numerous complex diseases that Western medicine couldn’t fully resolve.
Therefore, aristocrats and elites were eager to consult Old Mr. Prescott, but demand far exceeded supply. Moreover, Old Mr. Prescott had quite an odd temperament; if everyone could consult him, their doorstep would be worn out.
As for Zion Prescott, despite his young age, he has already become a legend. With a unique talent, he grew up learning traditional medicine under Old Mr. Prescott, inheriting his exceptional skills through constant exposure and practice.
After middle school, Zion Prescott went abroad to delve into Western medicine, becoming a master of both traditions, and is currently the most sought-after figure among the younger generation of The Prescott Family.
He’s widely acknowledged as the next Family Head of The Prescott Family.
...
After listening to the attending doctor’s explanation, Cecilia was incredibly excited. She suppressed her inner impatience and spoke eagerly.
"So, if Zion Prescott takes action, my brother’s illness can be cured?"
"Of course!"
The attending doctor nodded, but his expression soon turned troubled again.
"Though I don’t know why Zion Prescott is here, asking him to treat a patient is no easy task." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Cecilia gritted her teeth; no matter what he asked for, she was determined to fulfill it.
Just as Cecilia was about to rush over to plead for his consultation, she saw Prescott’s Army heading in their direction.
The surrounding nurses were thrilled, quickly forming a respectful circle around the attending doctor and Cecilia.
Some female patients, unaware of what was happening, were also drawn to the handsome Zion Prescott, joining the crowd to watch the commotion.
...
"Who is Cecilia Vaughn?"
Zion Prescott’s gaze swept over the people around him and finally landed on Cecilia.
— Amidst all these people, it was this girl’s indescribable aura that instinctively made him believe she was the one his friend mentioned.
Cecilia never imagined he would directly call her out!
She stood there in shock for two seconds before snapping out of it like waking from a dream.
"Hello, I am..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Zion Prescott adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and interrupted her.
"Take me to see your brother."
To experience such a timely deliverance, it was like manna falling from heaven!
Cecilia was dumbfounded.
Could there really be such good fortune in the world?
...
Her brother’s illness couldn’t be delayed; despite the questions swirling in Cecilia’s mind, she refrained from asking them now.
"Alright, I’ll take you there."
When Zion Prescott’s team emerged from the consultation, half an hour had passed.
For Cecilia, waiting outside the examination room felt like an eternity.
After their mother passed, her brother had been her constant companion, and Cecilia couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to Evan Vaughn!
She could only hope the heavens would watch over them.
...
Finally, the door to the ward opened, and Zion Prescott, clad in a white coat, walked out.
Cecilia immediately went up to inquire.
"Doctor Prescott, is my brother alright?"
The man’s voice was elegant and composed.
"At first glance, it seems serious, but it’s not difficult to treat. With proper care, he’ll recover."
Hearing this, Cecilia felt a great weight lifted from her heart.
Watching her visibly relax, Zion Prescott couldn’t help but give Cecilia another look.
After all, it was the first time Adrian Law had asked him for help over a woman.
— Cecilia Vaughn was indeed attractive, but with so many beautiful women in Veridia, he genuinely wondered what Adrian saw in her.
...
Beneath his gaze, Cecilia had a hunch and tentatively asked.
"Were you sent by Adrian?"
Besides Adrian Law, she really couldn’t think of anyone else capable of lending such a significant helping hand.
Smart girl.
However, Adrian...
Upon hearing that name, Zion Prescott’s lips curved into an intriguing smile.
"This is the first time I’ve heard a woman call him that; Miss Vaughn, you must be very special to Adrian."
...
Hearing these words, Cecilia felt a twinge of guilt well up in her heart.
She had kept Adrian Law from accompanying her out of concern for her brother, yet that man had always been mindful of her brother’s condition, making it fair to call him a lifesaver.
She quickly picked up her phone to tell Adrian Law to come up.
In just two minutes, the handsome and distinguished man appeared in their view.
Cecilia felt both guilty and grateful.
"Adrian, really... Thank you so much for today."
Adrian Law’s dark phoenix eyes swept deeply over Cecilia.
"No need; as Mrs. Law, you never have to say those words to me."
...
Even with Zion Prescott’s remarkable composure, the term "Mrs. Law" surprised him for a few seconds.
"Adrian, you’re married? I always thought, along with that rascal Felix, that you’d grow old alone!"
Felix Lockwood was so unreliable; that was the only agreement he and Felix could ever reach!
Adrian glanced at him, his phoenix eyes cold and sharp.
"It’s you and Felix who’ll grow old alone."
Zion Prescott shook his head helplessly.
"Truly, how times are changing. At least I just helped your wife."
...
Being referred to as Mrs. Law made Cecilia’s face flush hot.
Yet, at that moment, Adrian suddenly took her left hand, anger in his expression.
"Are you an idiot?! Your hand is injured, and you didn’t say a word?"
