Chapter 22: The One Who Comes Indeed

Mr.Nobody changed to his normal look.

He said,"Let’s go back to the campsite"

He said in his mind while walking, "Well...tonight was hell of a night...I wonder if Toma is alright."

After walking for a few minutes, he reached the campsite. There he saw Toma lying unconscious beside a tree.

He reached Toma and dropped to his knees beside her. She lay still, her breathing soft but steady. He carefully lifted her into his arms, checking her pulse.

"Hmm...her breathing seems fine."

"I think she’s fine... just unconscious," he muttered quietly. "She should wake up after some rest."

On the other side of the forest, panic had already started to spread.

Aiden looked around sharply. "Is everyone here... wait. Where is Toma?"

Farjana frowned. "I thought she was right behind us."

Akib stepped forward, looking around the forest. "Did she fall somewhere?"

Rabbi’s voice shook. "Oh no... don’t tell me the bear...."

"Stop it," Aiden snapped, cutting him off. "Don’t say nonsense. Nothing’s going to happen to her."

He clenched his fists. "We’re going back. Right now."

No one argued.

"Toma!" "Toma!"

"Toma!"

They rushed through the trees, calling her name, their voices breaking the silence of the forest.

Then...

A figure appeared in the distance walking toward them carrying someone.

As they got closer, everyone froze.

It was Mr.Nobody.

And in his arms... Toma.

Aiden stepped forward immediately. "What happened to her?!"

Farjana followed, worry clear on her face. "Why is her hand injured?"

Nobody hesitated for a second, then answered, "She tripped while running... hurt her hand when she fell."

Jiniya looked around nervously. "Where’s the bear?"

Nobody scratched his head slightly. "Uh... it ran off. The bear saw a bunny and started to chase it."

Inside his mind, he added, Well...I’m not entirely wrong, right, guys?

"A bunny??" Jiniya said with confusion.

Jiniya didn’t press further. "We shouldn’t stay here. There should be a forest office nearby. They can give first aid."

Aiden nodded quickly. "Right. Let’s move quickly."

Nobody carefully handed Toma over and the group hurried toward the nearest forest office in the Jirisan area.

After several tense minutes, they reached it.

A middle-aged forest officer noticed them immediately and stepped forward. "What happened to her?"

Rabbi answered, "She fell while running from a bear."

The officer’s expression turned serious. "Bring her inside. Quickly."

Farjana and Jiniya helped carry Toma in, laying her gently on a wooden bed.

The officer began checking her condition.

"She’s lucky," he said after a moment. "Just minor injuries and shock. She needs rest."

Aiden let out a breath he didn’t realise he was holding.

From the doorway, Nobody stood quietly, watching. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Aiden stepped closer to the bed. "Are you sure she’s going to be okay?"

The forest officer nodded. "She just needs rest. Her body went through shock. It happens after sudden fear and injury."

Farjana placed her hand over Toma’s. "She’ll wake up, right?"

"Yes," the officer replied. "Give her some time."

Nobody leaned against the doorframe, arms loosely crossed. He didn’t step in.

"Good. At least she is out of danger now."

Aiden glanced back and noticed him still standing there. His expression hardened slightly.

"You," Aiden said. "How did you even find her?"

Nobody blinked once. "I saw her fall behind while running. I just went back."

Aiden narrowed his eyes. "And the bear just... left?"

Nobody shrugged. "Guess we got lucky because of that bunny."

The answer didn’t sound convincing, but there wasn’t anything Aiden could prove.

"Whatever," he muttered.

Rabbi stepped in between them with an awkward smile. "Hey guys, at least she’s safe. That’s what matters, right?"

Akib nodded. "Yeah... things could’ve gone really bad."

Jiniya crossed her arms. "We shouldn’t split up again like that. That was honestly terrifying."

Farjana quietly added, "Let’s just stay together from now on."

Maisha also added," I was so worried about her."

Everyone agreed without arguing.

The officer stood up. "She’ll need to stay here tonight. It’s not safe to move her right now."

Aiden immediately said, "I’ll stay."

Farjana looked at him. "We can all take turns."

The officer shook his head. "Too many people will only make it crowded. Two or three can stay. The rest should return to your camp."

"I’ll stay," Aiden repeated.

Farjana raised her hand slightly. "Me too."

Jiniya hesitated, then nodded. "I’ll stay as well."

Akib sighed. "Guess we’ll head back and prepare things there."

Rabbi looked toward Nobody. "You coming?"

Nobody pushed himself off the wall slowly. "Yeah."

Before leaving, he glanced at Toma.

The group walked back through the forest carefully, this time staying close together.

Rabbi finally broke the silence. "Man... today turned out way different from what I expected."

Akib gave a dry laugh. "Yeah. Camping with a bear attack. Great experience."

Nobody exhaled slowly.

"Not now."

He dismissed it.

"Right now, none of that mattered."

Back at the forest office, the room had grown quieter.

Aiden sat beside the bed, watching Toma closely.

Farjana rested her head against the wall, trying to stay awake.

Jiniya stood near the window, looking outside.

Then...

Toma’s fingers moved again.

Her eyelids trembled slightly.

Aiden leaned forward instantly. "Toma?"

Slowly... her eyes opened.

Her vision was blurry at first.

"...Aiden?" she whispered weakly.

Relief flooded his face. "Yeah. I’m here."

She blinked a few times, trying to focus. "What... happened?"

Farjana stood up quickly. "You fainted. We got you here."

Jiniya stepped closer. "You’re safe now."

Then suddenly....

Toma’s expression changed.

"Where’s... Nobody?"

The room went silent for a second.

Aiden’s smile stiffened slightly.

"He went back to camp," he said.

Toma tried to sit up, wincing slightly from the pain in her arm.

"He... was there, right?" she asked

No one answered immediately.

Farjana glanced at Aiden, then back at Toma. "Yeah... he brought you back."

Toma lowered her gaze with an expression of relief.
