Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 919: Starting a New Life
When Gwen heard that Miles Sterling couldn’t remember the past, she was initially surprised, but soon realized this might actually be the best outcome for her.
She had been worried that after Miles woke up, their marriage would be threatened by Vanessa Sterling’s presence.
Now that Miles was awake, if he could really forget the past, forget Vanessa, she wouldn’t have to worry about these things anymore.
"Miles." Gwen walked to the bedside, softly calling Miles Sterling’s name.
Miles opened his eyes at the sound, looking at Gwen standing by the bed.
Just now, from Wendy Jennings’ mouth, he learned that the woman in front of him was his wife.
He scrutinized Gwen, a look of confusion on his face, as if trying hard to recall something, but he just couldn’t remember anything.
Gwen sat on the edge of the bed, gently holding Miles’ hand, smiling warmly as she said, "It’s okay if you can’t remember, don’t force yourself, it’s already great that you’re awake."
Miles slowly asked, "What’s your name?"
Gwen paused, then introduced herself with a smile, "I’m Gwen, ’Gwen’ as in ’Gwen of the Colors’, that’s how I introduced myself when we first met, and you said my name was beautiful."
Gwen attempted to fabricate memories in Miles’ mind that never existed, hoping that Miles could accept her because of this.
"We knew each other back in school, and you were the one who pursued me, do you remember?"
Miles looked at Gwen with doubt, he couldn’t recall the things Gwen was saying, but he didn’t dare treat Gwen poorly, fearing that the woman in front of him might really be the one he once deeply loved, afraid his words might hurt her.
"It’s okay if you can’t remember, I’ll always be by your side. Once you’re discharged, I’ll take you to the places we used to go to, and slowly tell you the things we’ve experienced together."
"How long have we been married?" Miles asked.
Gwen replied, "You proposed to me three months ago, and shortly after we got married, this accident happened to you."
Miles silently lowered his gaze, as if contemplating something.
Gwen considerately said, "You need to rest well now, don’t force yourself."
Miles paused and asked, "How did my accident happen?"
"It’s kind of my fault, I asked you to drive and pick me up, and you had the car accident on your way to fetch me. I’ve been feeling guilty ever since. If something happened to you, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself."
As she spoke, Gwen turned away to wipe her tears.
Miles looked at Gwen, his thoughts gradually becoming more and more chaotic.
The woman in front of him seemed to be the one he loved, but he couldn’t recall anything about her.
One week later.
Miles’ memory hadn’t returned, but he slowly accepted Gwen and Wendy’s explanation.
Looking at his own identification and the marriage certificate photo of him and Gwen, he was trying to immerse himself into this role.
Initially, Wendy had been very worried that Miles wouldn’t be able to recover his memory and even considered finding a psychologist to help Miles regain his memory.
But observing the current Miles, who was much more obedient than before and no longer remembered Vanessa, she began to hope that his old memories wouldn’t return to him.
Let him completely forget Vanessa, leave the past behind, and start a new life with Gwen.
