Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 931: Methods of Deception
Gwen called her contact and decided to have someone follow Vanessa Sterling, reporting her whereabouts at all times.
Miles Sterling waited outside the amusement park for over an hour, watching pedestrians come and go, observing tourists on the carousel change in waves, yet he couldn’t find the girl’s figure again.
Back then, the face clearly etched in his mind had now gradually become blurred.
He even began to wonder if that familiarity was just a figment of his imagination.
Disappointed once more, Miles Sterling turned to leave, not heading home, but wandering aimlessly down the street.
Looking at the bustling street scenes on both sides, amidst the cars and people passing by, the sense of loneliness inside seemed to grow even stronger.
A vague sense of pain came from his feet, prompting Miles Sterling to set down the cane and sit on a bench by the street.
Scanning the scenery around the street, he didn’t know if he had been to this place before; everywhere felt unfamiliar.
Even upon arriving again at that children’s restaurant, his mind couldn’t recall the little girl who resembled a beggar.
Roaming the streets every day, he secretly hoped that some view might spark a memory.
After resting for about ten minutes, as Miles Sterling stood up to leave, a black sedan stopped by the roadside.
First to step out was the tall man from the front passenger seat.
After getting out, the man opened the rear door and reached in to carry out a boy about one year old.
The driver emerged from the driver’s seat and retrieved a stroller from the trunk.
The last to come out was the young woman, who appeared to be the boy’s mother.
Miles Sterling looked at the woman, feeling a bit familiar, and quickly picked up his cane, approaching to ask, "Hello, we’ve met before, right?"
Audrey Sutton and Shane Warner turned at the sound, and upon seeing Miles Sterling, both were slightly taken aback.
In a somewhat anxious manner, Miles Sterling continued to address Audrey Sutton: "That night, you were at the amusement park too, right? Do you know the short girl with shoulder-length hair?"
Upon hearing Miles Sterling’s description, Audrey Sutton immediately knew he was talking about Vanessa Sterling.
Audrey Sutton had heard Bianca Jennings mention Miles Sterling’s memory loss, and she had brought it up with Vanessa Sterling before.
Clearly, Vanessa Sterling had no intention of reconciling with Miles Sterling, still refusing any contact with him.
To Vanessa Sterling, Miles Sterling’s memory loss was somewhat of a good thing.
Judging from Miles Sterling’s current state, he hadn’t recalled Vanessa Sterling yet. Audrey Sutton chose to respect Vanessa Sterling’s wishes and answered Miles Sterling, "You got the wrong person, sir. I don’t know who you’re talking about."
Miles Sterling had only seen photos of Audrey Sutton and Shane Warner on the news about the amusement park incident that night.
All he knew was that Shane Warner and Audrey Sutton were at the amusement park that night, but he didn’t know whether they were acquainted with the girl.
After hearing Audrey Sutton’s response, the glimmer of hope in Miles Sterling’s eyes turned to disappointment once more, as he apologized, saying, "Sorry to bother you."
Watching Miles Sterling’s figure as he walked away with his cane, Audrey Sutton unexpectedly felt a tinge of sympathy for him. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
She turned to Shane Warner and asked, "Was what I said just now not quite right?"
Shane Warner placed Anna in the stroller and responded blandly, "Everyone has their own position, there’s no right or wrong. You were thinking of your friend."
Audrey Sutton sighed softly and said, "Actually, I still hope Miles Sterling can resolve his issues with Vanessa in his clear state of mind, rather than relying on such deceit."
