Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 966: A Very Ordinary Girl
Scott Sutton thought seriously for a moment and said, "Maybe later, it’s not the right time now."
Audrey Sutton grew suspicious and said, "Did you learn this from our third brother? He always says he has someone outside but never brings them home."
Scott Sutton confidently said, "It’s only a matter of time, but don’t tell Mom yet. If she knows, she’ll start asking a million questions."
Audrey Sutton nodded and pressed, "What kind of girl is she? I’ve been really curious about the type of girl our fourth brother would like."
Scott Sutton finished changing Anna’s diaper, placed her on the carpet, handed her a couple of toys, and after pondering for a bit, finally answered Audrey’s question, "Seems like nothing special, just a very ordinary girl."
"How did you two meet?"
Scott Sutton gave Audrey an odd look and said, "Why do I feel like you’re sent by Mom to get information? I bet you can’t keep a secret and will go tell her right away."
"No, I’m just curious about my future sister-in-law."
Scott Sutton played dumb and said, "You’ll know when I bring her home."
As Audrey Sutton placed breakfast on the table, Shane Warner came downstairs.
"You sit and eat first, I’ll go freshen up."
Shane Warner nodded but said, "I’ll wait and eat with you."
"Then I’ll be quick," Audrey said as she ran upstairs.
Shane Warner frowned and called after her, "Walk properly."
"I’m not that delicate," Audrey mumbled softly, yet obediently held onto the handrail as she walked up step by step.
After washing up and changing clothes, Audrey Sutton ran into Laura Yates as she came down and asked, "Second sister-in-law, did you just get up too?"
"I’ve been up for a while, just reviewing some drafts in the room."
"Where’s Vanessa?"
"Vanessa left early in the morning."
Audrey glanced at Scott Sutton who was still downstairs, knowing that Vanessa lived in the same neighborhood as Scott. She thought Vanessa might have left with Scott.
"Did Vanessa go back by herself?"
Laura Yates shook her head with a smile and said, "Old Man Sheffield came to pick her up."
"Old Man Sheffield? Is he the editor from the men’s comic section?"
Laura Yates nodded and said, "Yes, he himself is also an artist. He’s been preparing for an exhibition lately and invited Vanessa. They even went out of town for fieldwork together a few days ago."
Audrey Sutton curiously asked, "Does Old Man Sheffield like Vanessa?"
Laura Yates replied with a knowing smile, "I have the same feeling."
Audrey Sutton went down to the dining table, eating breakfast and asking Laura Yates, "What kind of person is Old Man Sheffield?"
On this topic, Laura Yates couldn’t stop praising, "He’s quite handsome and a favorite among the young girls in the editorial department. Besides coming from a wealthy background, he doesn’t rely on his family, and he’s very capable himself. He’s also very gentle, and people within the circle hold him in high regard."
"I really hope Vanessa can move on from her past, but relationships still depend on whether the two are meant to be."
Laura Yates nodded and said, "Indeed, Vanessa’s experiences aren’t the same as a normal girl’s. She might have some hesitations about men, and if Old Man Sheffield wants to pursue her, he’ll need to be very patient. But he seems to be quite persistent and has put in a lot of effort recently. There might be a chance for them."
