My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 1763 - 1762: Surviving on a Deserted Island
"Wuwu, are we going to die here?"
Hearing Tang Ming’s words, Li Xiaoli couldn’t help but cry even louder.
"No, no, as long as I’m here, I won’t let you die."
Tang Ming propped himself up and promised confidently.
"But we don’t even know where we are, and I’m so hungry and thirsty."
Li Xiaoli looked pitifully at Tang Ming.
"How... how long have we been here?"
Tang Ming furrowed his brow.
"Not that long, I just managed to drag you ashore."
Li Xiaoli looked helplessly at Tang Ming.
"Alright! First, let’s figure out our surroundings, then think about other things."
Tang Ming looked at the sea and then turned his head to look at the land behind him. Judging by his estimation, this should be a small island; it’s impossible to fall from the sky over the Pacific and reach some continent.
Although he had a guess in his mind, Tang Ming wasn’t ready to give up. He supported himself and led Li Xiaoli towards the interior of the island.
A dozen or so minutes later, Tang Ming and Li Xiaoli returned to the beach, which sadly confirmed that this was indeed a deserted island.
Although there were some plants and trees on the island, there wasn’t a single person, and the overall area wasn’t large. When they walked to the high ground of the island, it was as if they could see the entire island at a glance. This place seemed no bigger than a city park.
"We’re done for, we’re completely trapped on this deserted island."
Li Xiaoli clung nervously to Tang Ming’s arm. "Wuwu, with no food, no water, we will die sooner or later."
"We are indeed trapped on the island, but that doesn’t mean we’ll die."
Tang Ming wiped his mouth. "Anywhere there’s land, there will be fresh water. Since there are plants growing here, there must be fresh water underground. And there are a lot of coconut trees here; even if we just drink coconut water, we can survive."
"But I’m so thirsty now."
Li Xiaoli wiped her mouth and walked toward the sea. "I need to have some water first."
"Hey, are you crazy!"
Tang Ming hurriedly grabbed Li Xiaoli. "The minerals in seawater are too much; just the salt alone is enough to poison you."
"Wuwu, but I’m thirsty."
Li Xiaoli started to cry.
"Don’t cry! Wait for me, I’ll get you some coconuts and then look for water."
Tang Ming glanced around, quickly ran to a coconut tree, and skillfully climbed to the top to pluck a bunch of green coconuts.
"Quick, give me some to drink."
Li Xiaoli squatted impatiently beside Tang Ming, urging.
"Don’t rush; we need to open the coconut first... but the problem is, we don’t have any tools."
Tang Ming weighed the coconut in his hand; the outer shell was extremely hard and had to be cracked open before accessing the inside.
"Then what do we do? Smash it, I’ll smash it open."
Li Xiaoli immediately picked up a coconut and started frantically smashing it against a rock, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break the shell.
Tang Ming, not interested in arguing, went over to search the ground for something useful.
"Wuwu, Tang Ming brother, what are you doing? Quickly come and help me; I can’t open it."
Li Xiaoli, tired and displeased, yelled at Tang Ming.
"Haste makes waste. The way you’re doing it, you’ll never get to drink coconut water in this lifetime."
Tang Ming returned with a flat stone, placed the coconut in front of him, and began chopping it with the sharp edge of the stone.
"This is a stone tool, why didn’t I think of that?"
Seeing Tang Ming quickly open the coconut, Li Xiaoli became excited.
"You’re just being silly."
Tang Ming sneered and tore open the now-exposed coconut husk to reveal the core inside.
"But we still can’t drink from it, can we?"
Looking at the oval coconut core in Tang Ming’s hand, Li Xiaoli shouted in frustration.
"Don’t worry."
Tang Ming found another sharp stone and made a hole in the coconut core, then handed it to Li Xiaoli. "Go ahead, drink."
Without saying a word, Li Xiaoli hugged the coconut and poured it into her mouth. Though it didn’t taste great, it felt like nectar from heaven at that moment.
After that, Tang Ming opened another coconut for himself. He felt a sense of helplessness; although he had been through many survival situations before, back then he had cultivation and equipment. Now, with his cultivation sealed and having nothing, he could only rely on experience to get by.
If it were before, he could break open a coconut with his hands, but now he had to rely on primitive stone tools.
Having drunk their fill, they temporarily resolved their immediate crisis, but having quenched their thirst didn’t solve their hunger.
"Brother Tang Ming, I’m hungry. Do we have anything... Look over there, something is floating over!"
Li Xiaoli suddenly pointed ahead, exclaiming.
"It looks like a person. I’ll go check."
Tang Ming’s eyes lit up, and he rushed into the sea, only to find Mu Zixin wearing a life jacket. He quickly rescued her.
"I can’t believe she floated here; does that mean the others aren’t far from us either?"
Li Xiaoli looked at Mu Zixin lying unconscious on the beach in puzzlement.
"If not for her, I wouldn’t have been hit by the bottle. With the weight of the three of us falling at high speed, a slight miscalculation could mean we’re very far from the others."
Tang Ming explained as he pressed on Mu Zixin’s chest.
"What are you doing? She’s unconscious, and you’re taking advantage of her. If you want to touch, you can touch me!"
Li Xiaoli looked disapprovingly at Tang Ming.
"Come on, even if you don’t know medical skill, you should at least know basic first aid!"
Tang Ming rolled his eyes at Li Xiaoli. "She’s unconscious from swallowing water. I’m saving her. You go get a coconut for her."
"Oh, okay, got it."
Li Xiaoli nodded repeatedly and ran to prepare a coconut, following Tang Ming’s method.
Very quickly, Mu Zixin coughed up seawater and slowly regained consciousness.
"Where is this?"
Mu Zixin asked groggily, looking at Tang Ming.
"I don’t know where this is either. The three of us are now trapped on a small island."
Tang Ming sighed helplessly.
"What?"
Mu Zixin sat up abruptly, turned around, and saw the vast, endless sea.
"It’s all your fault. What kind of lousy plane did you arrange? How could it just fall suddenly?"
Realizing what had happened, Mu Zixin immediately shouted angrily at Tang Ming.
"I don’t know what’s going on either. The plane had undergone detailed checks, and such things shouldn’t have happened."
Tang Ming sighed helplessly.
"Anyway, it’s all your fault. Wuwu, my family must be so worried about my safety now."
Mu Zixin said and started crying again.
"Stop arguing; we’re all in the same boat. If you keep acting spoiled, we’re not going to care about you."
Li Xiaoli returned, glaring at Mu Zixin. "Are you thirsty? Do you want some coconut water?"
