My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon - Chapter 212 - 173: "I’m Poisoned!
Fang Zhen's hands were extremely steady. Even while firing in quick succession, they didn't tremble in the slightest, and not a drop of sweat made his grip slip.
He fired three shots at each Heavy Armor Soldier: two to the torso, aimed at the chest, and a third to the head.
"BANG! BANG!"
"BANG!"
The two-shot, one-shot rhythm was like a musical melody, a deathly tune where the next beat would inevitably claim another Heavy Armor Soldier.
This shooting method of his was called the Mozambique Shooting Technique. It had been developed by a famous firearms expert, who summarized it from the real-world combat experience of one of his students, a frontline soldier.
That soldier had discovered in actual combat that when you shoot an enemy in the body, they don't immediately lose their ability to fight back due to a surge of adrenaline. So, he later developed a reliable shooting method to incapacitate them.
Two shots to the torso, one to the head. The torso shots are aimed at the chest, as the torso is the easiest target to hit, making it a near-guaranteed hit at close range. This paralyzes the opponent's ability to fight, causing stun, fear, and so on. The third shot, a close-range headshot, finishes the enemy off.
The Mozambique Shooting Technique is currently the most efficient close-quarters killing method. It was widely popularized in *John Wick*, but it's not just some cool-looking move from the movies.
Fang Zhen knew some criminal investigators and police officers. Even the police officers in Xia Country were now being trained in the Mozambique Shooting Technique.
"BANG! BANG!"
"BANG!"
He steadily and efficiently reaped the lives of the Earl's Guards, one by one.
The high performance of the Desert Viper was on full display.
The performance of this competition-champion pistol was outstanding. It was stable with virtually no recoil, its shots were extremely accurate, and the muzzle barely jumped.
He could complete one Mozambique drill in just over a second. In fact, if he pushed his rate of fire to the limit, he could be even faster.
In certain situations, the Desert Viper's killing efficiency was even higher than that of an automatic rifle.
At this range, most automatic rifles are efficient enough for killing humans. But against these aberrations with their 'blood cores,' the heart and other internal organs were no longer fatal weak points.
One burst from an automatic rifle might riddle many of the Earl's Guards with holes, but it wouldn't kill them.
There were also issues with recoil and muzzle climb.
But the Desert Viper had none of these weaknesses.
When performing the Mozambique Shooting Technique at close range, the Desert Viper proved superior to an automatic rifle.
While carrying out the slaughter, Fang Zhen was both exhilarated and rock-steady.
The mental traits of his Mechanical Heart had a certain effect on him, even when not actively engaged.
Normally in a fight, a surge of adrenaline and cortisol is inevitable. Under the influence of these hormones, there are significant benefits: enhanced reaction speed, increased stress-induced strength, and the suppression of fear and pain.
The downside, however, is that these hormones can easily lead to overexcitement.
In other words, you get carried away.
Right now, Fang Zhen hadn't activated his Mechanical Heart, yet his mental state was as if a powerful consciousness was suppressing the various hormones in his body. He reaped all the positive benefits of the hormones without them affecting his mind or reason.
"BANG!"
A bullet tore through an Earl's Guard's brain.
Brains and blood sprayed from the back of his helmet.
At that moment, Fang Zhen stopped firing. He quickly dropped the magazine and slapped in a spare.
"Cover me," he ordered calmly.
Karen, Gwendolyn, and Pat charged forward together, holding back the remaining Heavy Armor Soldiers.
In one volley, Fang Zhen hadn't missed a single shot. He had killed ten Heavy Armor Soldiers, leaving half of the enemy force remaining.
Seeing how devastating he was, Gwendolyn and the others were also inspired.
They now moved up to fill the gap, each one activating their seals. They fought much more ferociously than before.
This wasn't entirely due to Fang Zhen's inspiration. The more practical reason was that, at first, they didn't know just how capable he was. With so many enemies on their home turf, they hadn't dared to go all out. They had been conserving their stamina, afraid of being drawn into a protracted battle.
But now, seeing how utterly dominant Fang Zhen was, why hold back?
'We have to go all out and wipe out all these Heavy Armor Soldiers!'
Gwendolyn, Karen, and Pat unleashed the full power of their seals, and the effect was immediate.
The three of them forced the ten remaining Heavy Armor Soldiers back. Then, Karen suddenly erupted with power and used a combat technique.
A white light pulsed from Karen's greatsword as he used the Power Mountain Seal. He then began to spin, unleashing a Tornado Slash with an enormous area of effect.
One Heavy Armor Soldier raised his sword to block, but his weapon was instantly sheared in two by the greatsword. The greatsword, empowered by the Power Mountain Seal, then lopped off the soldier's head, sending it spinning through the air. Without losing momentum, the blade continued on its path and severed the armored left arm of another Heavy Armor Soldier.
Karen's single move was a great success, but he was immediately drained and his follow-through was weak. Two Heavy Armor Soldiers suddenly charged in for a tackle, looking to knock him down.
Suddenly, Pat let out a great roar and charged forward like a barbarian. He slammed his body into the side of the Heavy Armor Soldier tackling Karen, sending the man flying and knocking the other soldier's attack off course.
Karen caught his breath, raised his greatsword, and resumed the fight.
"The battlefield is no place for you to show off! If you die here, I'm not collecting your corpse!" Pat shouted.
"Just focus on your own fight!" Karen retorted, mustering his Spirit again.
Compared to the aggressive Karen, who left himself open, Gwendolyn was much steadier.
If Gwendolyn unleashed her power, she could match Karen's high damage output. However, as a seasoned veteran, her combat sense was far superior to his. She fought methodically, never overextending for glory, and parried the enemy's attacks with ease.
Laura and Tos had a different fighting style.
They were both smaller in stature and not as strong. Laura used a red, slender sword, while Tos used a black Thrusting Sword.
