Chapter 126: Chapter 103: THE SEEN SECRET — BURDEN OF WHAT WAS WITNESSED

After rushing out of the house in pure panic and shock, Jiang Wen found herself wandering aimlessly through the streets, her feet moving on their own while her mind was completely elsewhere. She had no destination, no plan, and no clear thought in her head—every bit of her focus, every fragment of her memory, was stuck on what she had just seen inside that bedroom. No matter how hard she tried to push it away, the image kept replaying vividly behind her closed eyes: the sight of her mother lying completely naked, peaceful and relaxed; the tall, powerful man kneeling over her, his large hands moving skillfully over her skin; and above all else, that terrifying, monstrous thing hanging heavily between his legs, huge and swaying, a sight that had shaken her to her very core.

She walked until her legs felt heavy, eventually sinking down onto an empty bench inside a quiet park. She sat there staring blankly at nothing, muttering softly to herself in confusion and worry.

"How did it turn out like this? I haven’t even gone home properly yet... and now where am I supposed to go?" She sighed deeply, clutching her head in her hands. "I already told my friends I was going home. I even said my goodbyes... it would be so strange if I turned back around and went to their place again now. Besides... I still have some things I need to pick up from the house anyway."

She sat there thinking, turning the situation over and over in her mind, until suddenly her eyes widened as a thought struck her.

"Oh right! Mother and that man... they have no idea that I actually came back home earlier. They don’t know I saw anything at all." A small, cunning plan began to form in her mind. "I’ll just pretend I haven’t been home yet. I’ll act as if I’ve been out all this time. Maybe... maybe it’s better if I just call her now. It’s been quite a while already, surely Mother must have woken up by now."

Making up her mind, Jiang Wen pulled out her phone and dialed her mother’s number.

Back at the house, Wan Yu was sleeping soundly and deeply on the third floor, exhausted and completely at peace. However, her mobile phone had been left downstairs on the first floor, resting on the table near the sofa. Down there, Jun Hao was relaxing comfortably, lying on the sofa while watching television. He had neatly folded and put away the clothes he had been wearing earlier, placing them tidily on the table beside the sofa so that nothing looked out of place or messy.

Hearing the ringtone cut through the quiet room, Jun Hao turned his head and saw the screen lighting up, displaying the name: Jiang Wen.

"Jiang Wen... isn’t that Wan Yu’s daughter?" he murmured softly to himself. He remembered Wan Yu mentioning her before. "This must be important."

He stood up immediately and walked quickly but quietly up the stairs to the third floor. He sat down gently on the edge of the bed, right beside where Wan Yu was sleeping, and began to wake her with utmost care and tenderness.

"Wan Yu... Wan Yu, my love... wake up, my dear," Jun Hao whispered in a soft, gentle voice, patting her arm and shoulder lightly and affectionately.

Wan Yu slowly stirred, waking from her deep rest. She opened her eyes lazily, heavy with sleep, and the first thing she saw was Jun Hao’s handsome face smiling warmly at her, hovering right beside her.

"You’re awake," Jun Hao said softly.

"Ah... what is it?" Wan Yu asked, her voice thick with drowsiness, rubbing her eyes slowly.

"Nothing serious," Jun Hao replied gently. "But there is a call coming in... from your daughter, Jiang Wen. It might be something important."

Hearing her daughter’s name, Wan Yu immediately tried to wake herself up more. "Jiang Wen? Let me have it," she said, reaching out her hand. She still felt groggy and heavy-headed, her body soft and relaxed from the long sleep and his earlier massage. She pressed the phone to her ear.

"Hello? Jiang Wen? What is it, dear?"

"Mom... it’s me. I’m back now," Jiang Wen’s voice came through the line, sounding calm but slightly distant, exactly as she had planned. "I stayed over at a friend’s house last night, and earlier I went to school. But I’m done now, and I’ve just arrived back in the city. Can you come pick me up?"

Wan Yu’s eyes went wide slightly, and a touch of panic flashed across her face. "Oh... oh... oh! Alright... wait just a moment, dear. Mom will come and pick you up right away."

As she ended the call, she was already trying to push herself up to sit, though her body protested, still incredibly weak and sore.

Jun Hao, who had heard everything clearly from where he sat, immediately spoke up, offering help right away.

"What is the matter? Does our daughter need someone to pick her up and bring her home? Don’t worry... let me go. I will go pick her up for you," Jun Hao said firmly but softly, his tone full of readiness and care.

Wan Yu paused, looking at him with a mix of hesitation and worry. "Yes... but... you don’t know her, and she doesn’t know you. Who are you to her? She will be confused and might get scared seeing a stranger come to pick her up."

Jun Hao smiled gently, speaking calmly and reassuringly. "She knows your car, doesn’t she? She must already recognize which one is yours. I will drive your car and go get her. She will understand it is someone sent by you. Besides... look at your current state. How could you possibly go out to pick her up? You are still so weak, your whole body is still aching and sore, and you can barely even walk properly. It is impossible for you to go anywhere right now. Just trust me and leave it all to me. I will pick her up and bring her home safely."

Wan Yu thought about it for a second. She really was in no condition to drive or go anywhere, her limbs felt like jelly, and she was still fighting off sleep. "Alright... if you say so..." she agreed softly, trusting him completely.

"Please... take care of her," she added weakly.

Jun Hao smiled, leaning closer to her face, and gently planted a soft, warm kiss right on her forehead, lingering there for a moment. "Rest assured. I will handle it."

Wan Yu looked up at him, her heart swelling with emotion. Hearing him speak so naturally, using words like ’our daughter’ and treating everything as a family matter... words she hadn’t heard, hadn’t felt, for such a very long time... it touched her deeply, stirring feelings she had buried long ago. Her eyes began to glisten, her lip trembling slightly as tears threatened to spill over, overwhelmed by the warmth and security he gave her.

Seeing her eyes turning watery and her expression softening into something so vulnerable and moved, Jun Hao leaned down further. He kissed her lips then, not roughly or passionately, but with soft, lingering, sweet pecks—affectionate, tender, and incredibly loving—one after another, caressing her lips gently until the emotion in her settled.

When he pulled back just a little, he looked deep into her eyes and spoke softly but firmly, his voice filled with promise.

"From today onwards... you will only know joy and pleasure, never tears again. Do not ever remember things that were unpleasant or hurtful. Leave all that behind now."

He then gently kissed both of her eyes, brushing away the forming tears with his lips, sealing away the sadness.

"Now... go back to sleep. Rest well. Leave everything else to me."

Completely soothed, safe, and loved, Wan Yu’s eyes closed once more, drifting back into a peaceful sleep immediately.

Jun Hao stood up quietly, took her phone gently from her hand, and walked out of the room. He went downstairs and typed a message to Jiang Wen:

[Where exactly are you right now? Send me your location.]

A moment later, he received a reply. Jiang Wen sent her location pin. Jun Hao looked at it; she was currently sitting in a park quite a fair distance away from their house, much farther than he had expected.

He typed back immediately:

[Wait right there. I am coming to pick you up now. It won’t take long.]

He put the phone in his pocket, straightened his clothes, and walked confidently toward the garage, ready to go meet the young girl who had seen their secret, unaware of just how much she had been shaken by what she witnessed.
