Chapter 103: A Plan To Get Her Pregnant?

Mark looked at the three of them for a second.

Cali was still against the door, Aria to his right and Ely to his left.

Mark let out a sigh and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Alright," he said, running a hand over his face. "I was actually about to call you in because something important happened outside and you need to know about it."

"Something important?" Aria asked, tilting her head.

"Yes, but..." Mark looked at all three and could see they clearly had something to tell him that couldn’t wait, given that they had staged an entire ambush just to speak to him alone. "I’ll let you go first."

"Thank you, Master!" Ely said, pressing her hands together with a relieved expression. "Because we’ve really been waiting a long time to tell you this."

"Alright, I’m listening."

Ely cleared her throat in a gesture Mark had only ever seen from her when she was about to say something she considered extremely serious.

"You see, Master," Ely began. "While you were away, Aria, Cali, and I had quite a lot of time to talk among ourselves and discuss certain... things."

"Things?" Mark repeated.

"Yes... important things," Ely clarified, nodding.

Mark looked at all three of them again.

Cali still had her gaze lowered, Aria wore a serious expression that wasn’t typical of her, and Ely was standing with a firm posture that made clear that whatever she was about to say, she had already thought it through.

"Are you talking about the schedule for having sex with me?" Mark asked directly. "Because if that’s it, I have no problem with however you organize yourselves."

"While that was one of the things we discussed, it’s not what we want to talk to you about right now," Ely said.

"Then what is it?" Mark said, confused.

Ely and Aria looked at each other.

Both nodded at the same time as if they had agreed beforehand on who was going to say it, and then it was Aria who spoke.

"We want you to give us a child, Master."

The room went silent.

Aria was looking at him with a completely serious expression, unblinking.

"...Aria," Mark said in a slow, careful tone. "Have you forgotten that you’re undead?"

"We haven’t forgotten, Master," Aria replied without changing expression.

"I’m saying it just in case," Mark continued. "You’re technically dead, your bodies don’t function the same way as a living person’s, and as far as I know that includes the... well, the reproduction part."

"We’re very aware of that, Master," Ely said, stepping forward. "And that’s precisely why our original plan didn’t include Aria or me."

"Your original plan?" Mark asked, frowning.

"At first," Ely explained, "our plan was for Cali to be the one to carry your child."

Mark turned his head toward Cali.

The succubus, who had been silent against the door until that moment, shrank slightly under Mark’s gaze.

Her golden eyes shifted to the floor and the blush on her cheeks intensified to the point where it was visible despite her red skin.

"Cali is the only one of us who has a fully biologically functional body," Ely continued. "She’s not undead, she’s a succubus. And while the species difference makes the possibility of getting pregnant quite difficult... it’s not impossible."

"Is it hard? Yes. Would it probably take many attempts? Also yes. But there are records of cases where it worked," Ely said, finishing her explanation.

Mark looked at Cali again.

"Cali, are you actually okay with this?" Mark asked in a softer tone.

Cali raised her gaze slightly toward him, but before she could respond, Aria stepped in.

"Actually, Master, it was Cali who suggested it to us."

"Really?" he asked, surprised.

"That’s right," Aria confirmed, nodding. "One night while you were away, Cali came to talk to us and she was the one who brought it up."

"Is that true, Cali?" Mark asked, looking at the succubus.

Cali, her face noticeably red, nodded several times rapidly without saying a single word.

"That was the original plan, Master," Ely said, picking the thread back up. "And we still think it’s a good plan."

"But," Aria chimed in, raising a finger, "after what you told us in the throne room, things changed a little."

Ely crossed her arms over her chest and her expression became slightly more serious.

"When you confessed to us that you were a reincarnated person, and Rose said that your powers are probably blocked," she said.

"Yes, but... what does that have to do with this?"

"Well, if you recover your powers, Master, it’s possible that your Wake Up spell could evolve," Ely said in a hopeful tone.

Mark frowned at hearing that.

"Your current ability reanimates corpses," Ely explained. "And while it gives them back their movement... it doesn’t give them back their life."

"We’re here," Aria added, bringing a hand to her chest. "We walk, talk, think, feel... but our bodies are still dead, Master. We don’t age, we don’t get sick, we don’t bleed, and we can’t have children."

"But if your powers really are blocked," Ely continued, "and if you really manage to recover them, there’s a possibility that your spell could go from being a simple reanimation to a complete resurrection spell."

"What exactly are you talking about?"

"I’m talking about giving us back our lives completely, with everything that implies," Ely said with a smile.

Mark thought for a moment.

"Wait a moment," Mark said, frowning. "Isn’t my spell already a resurrection spell?..."

"It’s not the same thing, Master," Aria replied, shaking her head. "Reanimating a dead body so it moves again, which is what you do, is one thing, and actually resurrecting someone is something else entirely."

"But resurrecting," Ely continued, "would mean giving us everything back, restoring our bodies to a completely living state, with blood running through our veins, with functioning organs, with the ability to age, to get sick, and yes, to have children."

Mark looked at both of them in silence.

"And do you think that’s possible?" he asked.

"It is, though it’s also true that throughout history, there’s only ever been one person who could do it," Aria said in a lower tone.

"Who?"

"The Goddess’s envoy who founded the clergy," Ely replied. "According to the texts of the past, she had the power to give back the dead their lives completely, not reanimate them, not turn them into undead, but truly resurrect them."

"And was she a reincarnated person?" Mark asked.

"The texts don’t say so directly," Aria said. "But if all the heroes of the past were reincarnated like you, then it’s very likely she was too."

Mark leaned back slightly, resting his hands on the bed behind him.

"So..." Mark said slowly, looking at both of them. "In short, what you want is to become human again so you can get pregnant."

"Yes, Master, that’s a good summary," Ely said, nodding.

"But since we don’t even know if you’ll manage to recover your powers, we’d rather not sit around waiting with our arms crossed," Ely added, raising a finger.

"That’s why we want to set the first plan in motion in the meantime," Aria said, glancing toward Cali, who was still against the door with her flushed face.

"So, Master," Ely said, looking him directly in the eyes. "Do you agree to this?"

Mark looked at Ely, her blue eyes full of a determination that left no room for doubt.

Then at Aria, her eyes fixed on him, waiting for his answer with a seriousness she rarely showed.

Cali, who despite having said almost nothing throughout the entire conversation was there, hands pressed against the door, golden eyes shining between embarrassment and hope.
