Chapter 1188: Chapter 1188: Was Ye Fan Blown Up?

Deceitful Fox won against the Terminator once, and only then did he abandon the killing move he had prepared long ago. Compared to killing Ye Fan, he hoped Ye Fan would live on and clearly realize he lost to Terminator once truly under his hand.

For so long, he had never felt secure, all because of the Terminator.

He didn’t want the Terminator to know that, to guard against him, he’d filled his own residence with explosives.

He was so terrified that he didn’t even resemble a normal person anymore.

If Ye Fan knew this, Deceitful Fox wouldn’t be resigned even in death. How could he, a prominent figure, appear so cowardly in front of the Terminator?

The Third Elder and the Fourth Elder watched as all the teams attacking Deceitful Fox withdrew from the castle. Only then did the two elders breathe a sigh of relief.

"Just because Deceitful Fox said there were bombs, we believed him? That’s quite unreasonable, isn’t it?" Fourth Elder questioned skeptically. "A mastermind like Deceitful Fox would rather die than yield, preferring to bury himself than die by someone else’s hand. I believe in that principle, but talking about bombs seems a bit far-fetched, doesn’t it? It’s impossible that there are bombs beneath the entire castle. Even if it were possible, when and how could Deceitful Fox have set up so many explosives?"

"Better to believe it than not," Third Elder said thoughtfully. "We dare not risk the lives of the Ghost Team and the Hunting Team. Even if there’s a one percent chance, we can’t dismiss it. We can’t take that risk."

"If there really are bombs under the castle, it would only mean that Deceitful Fox isn’t normal. But how is that possible? Can someone as significant as Deceitful Fox be abnormal?" Fourth Elder remarked indifferently.

"Maybe Deceitful Fox is just an abnormal person?" Third Elder continued.

"You believe that?" Fourth Elder scoffed.

"Heh, of course not," Third Elder said. "But what if Deceitful Fox has a secret trick he hasn’t used yet? If so, since Deceitful Fox wants to meet Ye Fan and Ye Fan also expressed a desire to meet Deceitful Fox, we might as well let them. Ye Fan has been guiding us from behind; if Deceitful Fox has a final trick, let Ye Fan tackle it."

Third Elder implied that if Deceitful Fox indeed had a killing trick, Ye Fan should deal with it.

"Exchanging Ye Fan for the Ghost Team and the Hunting Team is too disheartening, isn’t it? After all, we haven’t fallen out with the Terminator yet; doing so is truly inappropriate," Fourth Elder expressed.

"Since Deceitful Fox’s people issued a threat, we must consider it," Third Elder said to himself. "No matter how slim the possibility, we can’t gamble with the lives of the Ghost Team and the Hunting Team. We cannot bear that responsibility, nor can the organization endure such pain. So, if someone must be sacrificed, it has to be Ye Fan."

He continued, "Why should we care if the Terminator feels disheartened? We were never partners with him anyway. The Terminator is merely being coerced into surrendering all his value, which is what we should consider."

"But before falling out, we must be respectful to him. What if he plays tricks and harms us? Wouldn’t we suffer greater losses that way? As Supervisors, we also bear an unshirkable responsibility," Fourth Elder worried.

"You’re overthinking it. We have the hostages; Ye Fan wouldn’t dare make a move and can only obediently cooperate with us," Third Elder laughed.

"I hope you’re right; I’m just worrying unnecessarily, otherwise, there’s nowhere to cry," Fourth Elder prayed.

"Rest assured, completely," Third Elder said confidently. He glanced in the direction of the castle and remarked, "I’m curious about what the Terminator and Deceitful Fox, those sworn enemies, are talking about."

"What else could they be discussing? Considering their complicated relationship, Deceitful Fox probably wishes to tear Ye Fan to pieces," Fourth Elder muttered.

"Indeed, Deceitful Fox must truly hate Ye Fan. If not for Ye Fan, Deceitful Fox wouldn’t have died so easily. How could he not hate him?" Third Elder grinned eerily.

While the two elders watched the castle and chatted casually.

Suddenly!

A massive explosion sounded from the central area of the castle, then the collapsing castle fell like heaven and earth itself shattered, astounding everyone.

The tremendous noise echoed through everyone’s hearts.

The aftermath of the explosion, like a rushing torrent, violently spread in all directions.

The Ghost Team was stunned.

The Hunting Team was stunned.

The Third Elder and Fourth Elder were simply left gaping.

"What?"

"What’s this?"

The Third Elder and Fourth Elder exchanged looks, speechless, left with only shock and awe.

They never imagined such a thing could happen, momentarily struck dumb with disbelief.

"How could this be? There really were bombs in that direction! Not elsewhere, only Deceitful Fox’s place was rigged. Considering the explosion’s magnitude and destruction, how many bombs must there have been? Isn’t that too abnormal?" Fourth Elder trembled, his gaze vacant.

"Impossible, absolutely impossible. How could someone like Deceitful Fox rig so many bombs under his residence? That’s not realistic," Third Elder was dumbstruck and exclaimed, "The bombs must have been set up beforehand, but who, in their right mind, puts that many explosives under their own house? Did Deceitful Fox live on top of an arsenal?"

"Deceitful Fox must have lived on an arsenal, it has to be," Fourth Elder insisted firmly.

"Besides living on top of an arsenal, no other explanation makes sense," Third Elder chuckled despairingly.

"But if that’s true, isn’t Ye Fan doomed? Considering that scene, the explosion’s intensity, I can feel the impact from so far away. Ye Fan, the first in harm’s way, must be obliterated. What now? Ye Fan still has great value to the organization. Without his help, how do we conquer the base? How do we deal with Fire Phoenix and the Butcher?" Fourth Elder’s face was dark and full of fear.

"Given Deceitful Fox’s hatred for Ye Fan, he definitely wanted to annihilate him, couldn’t let him live. It seems Ye Fan’s dead, blown to pieces," Third Elder was wholly surprised. This scene was beyond his predictions, leaving him dazed, not knowing how this came to be.
