He probably doesn’t know how sharp his eyes are when he looks outside, she’s afraid that someone outside might notice something.

"What should we do? Someone’s coming, how are you going to get out?" Melody Thorne starts to sweat uncontrollably when she’s anxious.

"Melody Thorne, come out! Where are you hiding? Come out right now!"

"I’ll go take a look," Melody’s eyes flashed with a hint of coldness as she got up, put on her clothes, and walked out the door.

"Dad, it’s her," Clara Seymour said, clutching her arm with an expression so furious it seemed she wished she could kill Melody on the spot.

This woman actually dared to mess with her. After going back, one of her arms was paralyzed. Who else could it be if not this woman?!

"What’s going on here? Do you think you can just barge in like this?" Melody already had a clear understanding—none of these people dared to do anything to her.

Given her status here, not only would they not dare to harm her, they would show her respect even on a regular day.

This was the best part about the Seymour Family.

"Melody Thorne, what did you do to me?" Clara Seymour looked at her fiercely. "Why can’t I move my arm after coming back from the stables?"

Melody looked at Clara Seymour’s arm. When the old Seymour was around, she gave Clara a slap and secretly pricked her arm with the needle Leon Rivers had given her. At the time, she saw Clara walk out perfectly fine and thought Leon was fooling her. She didn’t expect it to be delayed in effect. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Melody shifted her gaze, "If you can’t move your arm, shouldn’t you see a doctor? What’s the use of coming to me?"

"It had to be you; it must have been you who did something to me," Clara grabbed Melody’s arm. "Dad, have her arrested! She dares to harm me so blatantly; she must be punished!"

"Take her to see the old man," said the second master, whose national-character face and cloudy gaze were eerily similar to the old man’s.

"Fine, let’s go, but this false accusation won’t be in vain," Melody sneered, her eyes skimming over the inside room’s door.

She couldn’t make a scene here; she was afraid Jared Quinn wouldn’t be able to hold back and come out.

"What’s going on?" Suddenly, the old man’s voice came from outside, his eyes behind the ancient spectacles exuding authority.

"Grandpa, she deliberately made my arm unable to move," Clara quickly spoke, "She wants to harm me."

Melody clenched her hand. If Jared wasn’t here, she wouldn’t be so nervous. With him here, she worried about being discovered.

Old Seymour’s gaze swept over her, sharp and examining, waiting for her reply.

"Do I have a reason to harm you?" Melody gave a small laugh, "My status is higher than yours, right? If anyone’s plotting harm, it’s you against me. Accusing me of harming you, I really don’t have the time to waste on someone not worth mentioning!"

"You... you, I’m the second in line; you must be afraid I’ll surpass your position!" Clara said unwillingly.

"Oh, you want the top position?" Melody laughed indifferently. "Then you can have it, I’m really not interested. If it weren’t for you wanting me back, I wouldn’t have returned at all."

"You..." Clara was so angry she almost couldn’t breathe, "No matter how you deny it, the fact that my arm’s incapacity is tied to you is undeniable."

Melody gave her a disdainful look and said calmly, "Slander. You guys probably just see that I’ve returned, and since I have no parents to back me up, you think you can find any excuse to defame me."
