My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 566 - 567: What Are You Looking At?
This sentence hit the old man’s sore spot; the death of his son is his greatest pain.
"Nonsense, this is your home. We, your uncles, are also your family. Who dares to slander you?" The second uncle quickly intervened to defuse the situation; the death of his brother is the Seymour Family’s taboo.
"Ha, couldn’t tell." Melody Thorne scoffed. "I didn’t know who it was that stormed in here without distinguishing between right and wrong, wanting to seize me!"
The Seymour patriarch’s face looked utterly displeased. "Enough, if your arm can’t move, go see a doctor. Why make such a fuss here? Don’t let me see the two of you crossing paths again in the coming days!"
Clara Seymour, seeing the patriarch’s anger, felt another pang of frustration. Melody Thorne had returned; her status, everything she had, her heirship all vanished like a puff of wind.
"Clara, let’s go." Albert Seymour’s face darkened already, as he pulled his daughter away.
In the patriarch’s heart, no matter how hard these few tried, they couldn’t compare to Howard Seymour and his daughter.
Even if she hadn’t been educated by the Seymour Family, her status remained noble.
As people left, the Seymour patriarch finally enjoyed a moment of peace. He gripped his cane with veins protruding, glancing at Melody Thorne. "Before you came, it was always quiet here."
She’s only been here two days and things have been tumultuous without end.
"If they don’t provoke me, I won’t provoke them. But if they do, I have no reason to endure!" Melody Thorne’s gaze swept around, realizing her parents hadn’t come out all this time; only now did she notice they’d changed rooms.
Maybe it was because she and Jared Quinn were too loud?
Melody Thorne wanted to find a hole to crawl into; she had clearly tried to restrain herself!
"Your temperament fits," the Seymour patriarch was unusually lenient toward Melody Thorne, finding her quite pleasing to the eye.
Melody Thorne suddenly remembered Caleb’s words and wanted to ask the patriarch why Caleb had said being with Jared Quinn meant death for her. But she was also afraid Jared Quinn would overhear.
"Where are my parents? When can I see them?"
The Seymour patriarch fell silent, the sadness of past years tormenting him. When he stood up, he suddenly seemed much older. "I’ll take you to him in a couple of days. Having a daughter like you, he must be proud."
"Alright."
Melody Thorne never expected the patriarch to take her to a grave; Howard Seymour had long passed away. He died when she was born, which was why she was sent to be raised by the Thorne Family.
Firstly, to protect her from harm, and secondly, to give her a proper childhood with the Thorne Family.
Melody Thorne returned to her bedroom; Jared Quinn was arrogantly lounging on her bed, his well-defined bare chest exposed, browsing through something on her phone.
Her phone?
Melody Thorne dashed over. "Where did you find my phone?"
Jared Quinn’s hand evaded her lunging body, his eyes still fixed on her phone, his face not looking very pleased. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"What are you looking at?" Melody Thorne leaned over, her gaze landing on what Jared Quinn was staring at, and her expression changed dramatically in an instant.
She looked up; Jared Quinn’s deep-set features had grown dark.
"Are you that desperate?" His low voice was thick with displeasure, his piercing gaze seemed to penetrate her phone.
The screen was packed with pictures of men, of all types, handsome and apparently well-exercised, with muscular builds.
