My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 578 - 579: Even If I Die, She’ll Be Fine
"Alas, what a sin," the old man’s cane struck the ground heavily.
Without him speaking, Melody Thorne had already forgotten him. "Grandfather, are you sure you still want me to marry Hans Montrose now?"
Her gaze searched the hall for Hans Montrose’s figure and discovered that he had left at some point.
He must have already given up, she guessed.
"I just want to know what about the Quinn Family is unworthy of the Seymour Family?" Jared Quinn handed the document to Harold Chapman, signaling him to keep it safe.
His eyes fixated on the old Seymour man, "As far as I know, our Quinn Family has no grudges against the Seymour Family."
The old man sighed, "Come with me."
Everyone returned to the Seymour property, to the most secluded building where no one was allowed to enter, which still retained ancient architecture,
where a person always lived.
"This is the elder of the Seymour Family; they have lived here and can predict the fate of all the Seymour heirs." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Listening, Melody Thorne found it amusing, "I never thought the Seymour Family had this side, believing in such tricks."
"You can’t be so impudent," the old Seymour man stopped her from talking nonsense.
"What can he predict?" Jared Quinn also found this scene amusing. He knew the Seymour Family had been around for dozens of generations, so their roots were deep, but he hadn’t expected them to have such obsolete practices.
"He can predict that Melody will die at your hands," the old man’s eyes glimmered with murky light.
"Heh," Melody Thorne laughed, "I will die by Jared Quinn’s hands, then why am I still perfectly fine now, and we have a child together?"
"You’re fine because he hasn’t started showing symptoms yet," the elder said, standing up and showing her a medical record of the Quinn Family across generations, "The Quinn men, especially, suffer from a hereditary mental illness. They gradually develop schizophrenia and possess dual personalities, one humane and the other inhumane."
Something indiscernible gathered in Jared Quinn’s deep eyes as he stared at the medical file in the elder’s hand.
"Master Quinn has always lived in the Quinn Family, so he should be aware of this, right?" the old Seymour man spoke up. "Our Seymour Family bears no deep hostility towards your Quinn Family, but Melody is my only granddaughter. I can’t let someone who might kill her stay by her side."
At this moment, Melody Thorne was also struggling internally because she had indeed died once because of Jared Quinn. The fact that the Quinn Family had such a medical history was hard to believe.
But she believed Jared Quinn would not kill her.
Lowering her head, Melody Thorne hooked her fingers around Jared Quinn’s big hand, silently telling him that no matter what, she was there.
"Even if I die, she will be fine," Jared Quinn met the old man’s gaze,
unable to let go of Melody Thorne.
"You..." the old Seymour man sighed. He had acted as the villain to this extent. There was a child between them. He couldn’t kill Jared Quinn now and make his granddaughter hate him.
"How about this? Let’s test whether Master Quinn can control himself," the elder suggested. "I can hypnotize him to simulate a mental episode."
"No need," Melody Thorne stepped in front of Jared Quinn, blocking him. "What he is like has nothing to do with you, and I don’t need you to test anything. I don’t want to inherit the Seymour family either. We just want to return to our country as soon as possible. I don’t want to stay here another day."
