My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 609 - 580: Are You Trying to Pin It on Me?
Melody Thorne’s palms were drenched with sweat; she couldn’t even imagine what would happen if she had been the one to drink that potion, whether she would have had a miscarriage immediately.
Jared Quinn’s handsome face was shrouded in gloom at that moment, his eyes crimson, "Harold Chapman!"
"Brother Jared."
"Jared Quinn, wait, maybe someone deliberately wants us to fall out with the Seymour Family," Melody Thorne interjected, "Find out who did it, Harold, and let them see today if this is a place where they can act recklessly."
"Alright."
"Melody," the old Seymour hurried in upon hearing the commotion inside, afraid something might happen to her, relaxing as soon as he saw she was fine.
"Are you alright?" The old man still appeared tense.
"I’m fine, Grandpa," Melody Thorne replied, "Maybe you should go back? Someone added a miscarriage-inducing drug to the soup sent to me, and Jiang Li drank it. If it were me, who knows if I would be dead or alive now? No matter who is found to be responsible later, I won’t let her off. Since they don’t care about sisterly ties, why should I?"
Melody Thorne already had a rough idea in her heart; besides those two women, who else would be bold enough to oppose her so blatantly?
"Are you pregnant again?" The old man stared at her belly, his expression somewhat indescribable.
"Yes."
Though the old man was stern, he was also shrewd; he had already deduced whom Melody Thorne was talking about.
After all, they were all his granddaughters, and he couldn’t bear to watch them tear each other apart, so he sighed and turned away, leaving the kids to solve their own problems.
"Grandpa," Clara Seymour and Stella Seymour happened to be brought in from outside by Harold Chapman, including the maid. These two had no intention of hiding anything, trying to push the blame onto each other.
Outside, all the uncles and some household staff stood at the door to see what Melody Thorne would do.
Stella Seymour entered and saw Melody Thorne standing there, her face immediately changing. She thought things were already settled.
"Melody Thorne, what do you want us here for?"
"Isn’t it clear why you’re here? You dared to put miscarriage-inducing drugs in my soup, so openly; do you think I’m blind?"
Stella Seymour glanced at the maid beside her, signaling with her eyes, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"It wasn’t Stella who ordered the drug, it was Clara. She wasn’t satisfied with you being the heir, so she wanted me to find an opportunity to harm your child," the maid spoke up.
"What?" Clara Seymour immediately slapped her, "It was Stella who asked you to do it, why are you pushing it onto me?"
"It was definitely you," the maid dodged and spoke.
Clara Seymour was so angry she was spitting blood, "Fine, then let’s find out who really made you do it."
"Neither of you can escape," Melody Thorne was already flipping through the book full of rules, which clearly stated that if anyone dared to harm their own family, they could be dealt with at the discretion of the other party."
"Harold Chapman," Melody Thorne closed the book upon finding the satisfactory answer, "It’s possible both of them conspired early on to deceitfully make a dog-eat-dog show in front of me,
Since no one is admitting, take both of them away, and announce it in front of everyone outside, rescind both of their inheritance rights, have the maid slap each of them twenty times and lock them up, until they reveal whose idea this was to make the final decision."
