Chapter 619: Chapter 590: You Want Me to Sleep in the Same Bed?

Although Howard Seymour stayed in the hospital room, his keen eyes noticed something. The young nurse who brought him meals today talked about how loving Melody Thorne and Hans Montrose were. When he heard what they did, he knew for sure that these two weren’t a couple.

"Dad, no, what could I possibly hide from you? Please go back and rest," Melody Thorne walked over. "I’ll take you back to the room."

"Melody," Howard Seymour’s expression darkened, "Tell me, did Hans Montrose force you into something?"

He saw it clearly. In the morning, when he asked about their relationship, Melody Thorne didn’t answer at all; only Hans Montrose replied on her behalf.

"Is he using me to threaten you? Melody, you must leave here, pretend you’ve never seen your father. I can’t drag my own daughter down."

"Dad, Hans Montrose and I grew up together. He’s been protecting me since we were kids. You’re overthinking it. Rest assured, he won’t do anything to me. You go back and rest. I’m the only one living in this courtyard; Hans Montrose isn’t here."

"Melody," Howard Seymour was still worried.

Three years ago, it was indeed Hans Montrose who saved him, but that doesn’t mean he can use this to threaten his daughter.

"Dad, please stop. This is something between us young people. Trust me, nothing’s wrong," Melody Thorne escorted Howard Seymour back to his room.

After leaving the room, she pressed her ear against the door and waited until there was no sound coming from Howard Seymour before leaving.

"Where is Hans Montrose staying?" Melody Thorne turned her gaze to the young nurse by her side.

Everyone here was aware and had seen what Hans Montrose did to her today, so no one dared to stop her.

"He’s in the courtyard next door," the nurse pointed to another courtyard.

Melody Thorne walked towards that courtyard. As soon as she entered, she heard incessant coughing sounds, each cough heavier than the last, making it hard to breathe, as if suffering from a severe illness, on the brink of death.

Thinking of Hans Montrose’s odd behavior, Melody Thorne gradually clenched her fist and walked over to push the door open.

"Who allowed you in?" Hans Montrose looked up, surrounded by a pile of tissues on the floor, each stained with blood, his face excessively pale.

Hans Montrose was evidently not expecting Melody Thorne’s arrival. By the time he realized, he had already grabbed Melody Thorne’s hand, pulling her out of that room, as if the room was teeming with germs, fearing they might infect her.

"Who told you to come here? Do you want to share a bed with me?" Hans Montrose threatened in a low voice.

"Hans Montrose," Melody Thorne threw off Hans Montrose’s arm, "What’s wrong with you? Are you hiding something from me? What’s with the blood?" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"My business has nothing to do with you. Just know that I’ll let you leave here in a month," Hans Montrose turned his back.

"I want to go in and see," Melody Thorne insisted on heading for his room.

"Melody," Hans Montrose blocked her path, "Why bother concerning yourself with me? The more you care, the less I can stand to see you happy with Jared Quinn. I’ll only want to win you back. Even with that, do you still want to go in?"

"Yes," Melody Thorne insisted on going in. Hans Montrose didn’t do anything wrong; he merely threatened her.

He’s sick, and she has to know.
