My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 261: Success?
Chapter 259
While the big guns were having it kind of easier, the other not-so-strong Aspirants were having it harder than them.
While some of the powerful Aspirants like Kai, Berg, Trisha, Caster... weren’t sustaining much injuries, the others weren’t so lucky.
A few slashes here and there, a few scratches and deep side gashes that spewed blood into the air.
Though they were being supported by the Iron Corps members, they were still being bloodied here and there. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
After all, not everybody can handle an Advanced rank beast.
For some, it was simply a walk in the park while for some, it was a mountainous hurdle.
— Hey, be careful over there!
After giving out the warning, an Aspirant vaulted backward in time as the side of his pants was torn open by a scythe from the spider.
The moment his feet touched the ground, he crouched down, hands on the earth and from it, a dozen spikes shot towards the spider with blazing speed.
Swinging its scythes crudely, the beast was able to deflect most of the spikes when the ground surged and held the spider’s legs.
’Huh? That wasn’t from me.’
Looking up, another Aspirant could be seen hovering above the beast with a sword lashing towards the sinewey of veins tearing through it and sending the spider crashing to the earth.
"Huff...huff.. pant... haaa..."
The Aspirant landed with a soft pant as he wiped the bead of sweat off his temples while the previous Aspirant could be seen rising to his full height.
"Thank you."
The saviour Aspirant shook his head with a soft smile.
"No mention. On the battlefield, we need to look out for one another."
The saviour Aspirant looked at the other Aspirant’s wrist to catch sight of the grade flashing.
3.5
Looking at his own wrist, he stared at the grade.
4.5
The Aspirant that was saved caught sight of this action and also spotted the number on the Aspirant’s watch.
Heaving out a sigh, the saviour Aspirant shook his head.
"On the battlefield, we are all equals. You heard the Silver haired that day? If the big four hadn’t worked together, if all meta-humans hadn’t come out together, the Abberants wouldn’t have been pushed back."
The saved Aspirant nodded.
"Exactly. We need to put all the whole grade hierarchy aside and trash it. It’s all useless as both the strong and weak can die at anytime."
"Agreed."
All over the battlefield, the other Aspirants were finding themselves in the same spot as the other two.
Some strong Aspirants were saving the weak and the weak were working together with the strong.
The previously proud Aspirants who didn’t want to find themselves anywhere near the weak graders were finding themselves being saved from a pinch by the same weaklings.
Differences were being put aside as the number of spider beasts were daunting and too many for them to handle alone.
Not everybody could handle an Advanced rank beast all alone.
— Watch my back!
— Roger!
The first Aspirant launched into the air. His boots latched onto a building which he vaulted off from as the earth mound in his hand moved into a spike which he thrust towards a spider latched onto the side of a building.
The beast’s scythe slashed towards him with blazing speed but just in time, the second Aspirant swung his hands forward and a gust of wind burst out smashing the scythe away therefore allowing for the spike to thrust into the beast’s eyes ripping it out with a spray of black ichor.
Vaulting forward, the Aspirant got behind the spider and reshaped the earth mound into a short sword which he slashed forward and tore through the veins holding its head together.
The beast’s talons tore through the sides of the building in a rain of debris as it fell downward with blazing speed.
This was the norms all around the battlefield.
Everybody relying on one another whether weak or strong to fight the spiders.
And there, the death rate was beginning to reduce at an astonishing rate.
Where all of them had thought they were strong enough to handle a spider alone, they quickly realised they were wrong as Aspirants had been dying left and right.
...
— Lincoln. Are you seeing this?
"Affirmative. I’m shocked that they are beginning to work together like the squads they are."
— Honestly. I’m shocked. The purpose of the expedition they had gone on was to bring everybody together that was why I had left with Sony while allowing both classes to merge together hoping they would all work together. But unfortunately, they didn’t.
"Maybe because their lives weren’t as threatened as they are right now. Because this is marvelous. The main objective of the Aspirant Corps is this..."
Lincoln smiled as he caught sight of a high grader helping a low grader who was terribly injured and then they left the place with the high grader taking the low grader to a safe spot.
"... Most of them want to join the Vanguard Order but what they don’t know is that; the VO work better as a team. Each member relying on the other and entrusting them with their lives. They don’t fight individually but as a team and family.
Hierarchy doesn’t exist in the VO. That is why the Aspirant Corps was created. To not just give the young teens the necessary training they need to survive the world, but to give them series of tests to help bridge the gap that made them see others as beneath them. Especially the legacies."
— I guess our evaluation and test is complete huh. I’m currently filing a report as we speak. The General has to see this.
Lincoln smiled as the rate at which the beasts were being defeated had increased.
