No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!
Chapter 1319: Never Came Out
Most of the time, Jimmy Simmons just sat downstairs, glancing upwards at that firmly shut room.
The whole villa was equipped with surveillance, except for Hannah’s room.
After a while, she called for the middle-aged woman in the kitchen who was in charge of cooking, "Has she come out today?"
The woman couldn’t speak, she just shook her head.
Indicating no.
With a wave of her hand, Jimmy let her leave.
Before the woman left, she subconsciously glanced upstairs again.
On her first day of employment, she had caught a distant glimpse of the person living in that room.
It was an exceptionally beautiful girl.
Like a princess living in a castle, every part of her was delicate and lovely.
She didn’t know what the relationship was between this girl and her employer; they didn’t seem like lovers, as they weren’t intimate, but they seemed acquainted if they were said to have any other relationship.
No matter what, these weren’t matters she could meddle in.
The employer paid her a generous salary, and her child was waiting for that money to save his life.
The woman didn’t linger long, leaving after preparing dinner.
Jimmy carried the dinner upstairs and knocked on the door.
After a moment, there was a response from inside, "The door isn’t locked."
In a lazy voice, after speaking, Hannah couldn’t help but yawn.
The drugs made her drowsy for much of the day.
Jimmy was quite ruthless.
This was true for many things, particularly when it came to confining her.
Jimmy pushed the door open and caught sight of Hannah sitting on the windowsill.
She had changed into new clothes, a pale blue fluffy bundle, cocooned into the corner, gazing at the scenery outside the window.
Actually, by this time there wasn’t much scenery to see.
The sky was ominously dark, and looking out the window one could only see a dense forest.
When the wind blew, the branches creaked, reminiscent of the Black Forest in fairy tales.
"Time to eat."
Jimmy sat in the chair against the wall. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
He had just moved it from outside.
She didn’t welcome him so every time he came he had to bring his own chair, or he’d have to sit on the floor.
Jimmy thought it was rather amusing.
When had he ever accommodated anyone like this?
Hannah got down from the windowsill and sat down at the table, taking the utensils to eat.
As always, silent.
This silence was like red-hot wire coiling around Arnold’s heart, making him increasingly irritable.
He subconsciously reached for a cigarette, but his gaze fell on Hannah and he stopped, instead choosing to speak, "Aunt Lee said you haven’t come downstairs all day today?"
Aunt Lee was the middle-aged woman responsible for cooking in the villa.
Hannah continued eating, "Mhm."
As always, indifferent.
Jimmy became more annoyed, an itch in his throat, wanting only to smoke.
Disregarding her presence, he took out his lighter.
Hannah looked up, wiping her mouth with a napkin, "I don’t like the smell of smoke."
Jimmy, holding the cigarette, paused for a moment with a malicious smile, "What does it matter if you don’t like it?"
He lit the cigarette.
He wanted to deliberately antagonize her, to see her get angry, her arguing and cursing him like before, which would bring him some joy.
Smelling the faint tobacco odor in the room, Hannah frowned.
Only then did some color appear on her pale face.
Jimmy, with his leg propped up, deliberately blew a smoke ring in Hannah’s direction with a challenging look.
Hannah ignored him, got up, and headed to the bathroom, "I’m going to rest now, please clean up the dishes."
After she spoke, the door closed behind her.
Jimmy’s hand holding the smoke paused, ashes fell on his pants, burning a dark mark.
