Chapter 155: Lily’s Emotional Outburst

"He doesn’t need to sober up. I think he’s doing just fine," Lily said with a cold sneer, glancing over at Ethan Blackwood, who had just shoved Nanny to the ground. "If you want to help him, why not bring him a few more women?"

"Ow..."

Nanny cried out in pain after being pushed down by Ethan, exaggerating her discomfort, "Ow, ow, my old bones are going to fall apart..."

Her tone had a hint of exaggeration.

Seeing this, Lily was about to step forward to help Nanny, but Ethan had already taken a step forward, roughly yanking Nanny up from the floor. He growled coldly, "Get out! Nanny, you get out too!"

Ethan’s icy gaze was fixed on her, his expression full of displeasure on his cold, handsome face.

Aside from the strong smell of alcohol in the room, he looked perfectly sober.

Lily couldn’t sense any of the so-called confusion Nanny had mentioned.

Someone who’s genuinely drunk would be slurring their words, vomiting, stumbling, maybe even foaming at the mouth... Yet here he was, standing firmly, more composed than she was.

At the very least, he still had the energy to roll around on the couch with a woman, skin-to-skin.

"Mr. Blackwood!" Nanny, desperate, tugged on Ethan’s sleeve. "Wake up, Mr. Blackwood; Miss Anderson is here."

"I’m already awake!" Ethan snapped irritably, pushing Nanny away, his deep voice full of impatience. "Stop nagging! Nanny, get out of my way!"

With that, Ethan stepped back and sank into the couch, pressing down on the leg of the disheveled woman beneath him, causing her to cry out in pain, "Ouch... Mr. Blackwood... you’re sitting on my leg..."

"Where did this woman come from? Get out!"

It was as if Ethan had just noticed a woman on the couch with him. His expression soured, and he immediately yelled in annoyance.

Looking down, Ethan impatiently shoved the woman off the couch and onto the floor.

Her body collided with the coffee table, making her cry out even louder in pain. Her dress was in disarray, revealing her full, pale chest, threatening to spill out.

"Ah... Mr. Blackwood..." The woman sobbed, tears streaming down her face from the pain.

Was this a farce?

Fickle and heartless—the hallmarks of Ethan Blackwood’s behavior.

Lily watched silently, wanting to leave, but Angus stood before the door like a gatekeeper, blocking her path.

"Where’s the sobering tea? Weren’t you going to have me give it to him?" Lily asked coldly.

"I’ll get it right away!" one of the managers shouted, rushing out to retrieve the tea.

"Mr. Blackwood, Miss Anderson is here..."

Nanny ignored the woman on the floor and tried again to get Ethan’s attention, waving her hand before his dark, deep eyes.

Lily was baffled. Did Nanny think he was blind?

But then, strangely, Ethan acted as if he really couldn’t see Nanny’s hand, his expression unchanged as he sat on the couch, staring blankly ahead, completely ignoring her.

Lily was even more shocked.

Suddenly, Ethan exploded in fury, "Nanny, are you going through menopause again?! You’re so annoying! Get out!"

"Mr. Blackwood, Miss Anderson is here... Isn’t she the one you wanted to see?" Nanny reminded him again, her voice growing hoarse.

"Damn it! Do you not understand me?! I don’t want to see some slut!" Ethan roared, kicking the coffee table with enough force to flip it over, shouting, "I only want to see Lily! No one else!"

The woman who had just been thrown to the floor was pinned down by the flipped coffee table, crying out in even more pain.

Lily couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.

Ethan’s drunken behavior was getting more absurd each time.

After a long silence, with only the woman’s cries echoing in the room, Ethan suddenly leaped to his feet, his expression shifting. His thin, sexy lips parted as he asked, "Lily’s here?"

Lily felt like she was witnessing some bizarre drunken behavior today.

Nanny had been shouting herself hoarse, but he only heard her now?

"Miss Anderson, here’s the sobering tea," one of the managers said, approaching with a cup of tea.

Lily glanced at the tea, her expression cold. She took the cup, walked up to Ethan, and, without a word, splashed the tea directly in his face.

Ethan’s handsome face was instantly soaked with the tea, and the front of his shirt was also drenched.

Bits of tea leaves stuck to his face.

At that moment, he looked utterly disheveled and pathetic.

The people in the room collectively gasped, and Nanny cried out in horror, "Miss Anderson... I-I didn’t bring you here to provoke Mr. Blackwood!"

Under normal circumstances, Ethan would have lost his temper immediately.

But now, though he appeared sober on the outside, deep down, he was clearly out of control.

Ethan raised his hand and wiped the tear from his face, grimacing at the unpleasant smell. Sobering tea was one of his least favorite things.

Glaring at the cold, expressionless woman before him, Ethan breathed heavily, his anger mounting. He suddenly roared, "Lily, are you out of your mind?! How dare you throw tea at me?!"

"Why wouldn’t I dare?" Lily retorted coldly. "Look at what you’ve become. What do you think you are, an emperor? Does the whole world have to cater to you?! Does everyone have to revolve around you?!"

"Lily—"

"Shut up! I’m not done yet!"

Ethan’s face tightened as she shouted at him, his eyes flashing with murderous intent, but he didn’t interrupt her. For once, he didn’t continue yelling.

Nanny’s mouth hung open in shock. She stood there, dumbfounded, watching Lily assert herself in front of Ethan for the first time.

"Ethan, so just because you’re drunk and in a bad mood, you think you can hit people? Beat them up?! Even Angus, who’s been with you for years, wasn’t spared. Do you have any sense of decency left?! You’re nothing but scum! A violent criminal! You should have been locked away in prison for life!"

Lily raised her voice, shouting angrily, and then, with a fierce motion, she smashed the teacup onto the ground, shattering it into pieces.

Crash—

The loud sound of the teacup breaking stunned everyone in the room. They all stared in shock at the slender woman who had just dared to yell at Ethan.

The woman trapped under the coffee table had just managed to crawl out, only to have her face scratched by the shards of the broken teacup. She cried out in pain again, "Ah—"

Ethan glared at Lily, the fire in his eyes growing more intense.

"Miss Anderson... please stop..." Nanny whispered, trying to calm her down.

Lily’s words weren’t solving the problem; they only made it worse...

The damage would be catastrophic if Mr. Blackwood lost control and smashed the entire hotel.

"They’re working for you, yes, but they’re not your slaves! They have rights!" Lily pointed to Angus and the bruised managers, angrily scolding Ethan. "What gives you the right to hit them?"

"Lily—Anderson!" Ethan growled, clenching his fists tightly.

"Don’t tell me you’re drinking because of me. I don’t buy it!" Lily spat at him, her face full of disdain and anger.

Ethan’s eyes widened, dark and piercing, his chest heaving with rage.

"You chose to confess to me, and I have the right to refuse. Do you think it’s some divine gift just because you, Ethan Blackwood, fall for someone? That I, Lily, have no choice but to accept? And if I don’t, you can call me and insult me for over ten minutes?!"

And to think she had been foolish enough to sit there and listen to him insult her for over ten minutes!

She had even felt guilty!

And what was his way of venting after that? Sleeping with another woman on the sofa!

"..." Ethan’s entire body radiated anger and violence.

The more Lily scolded him, the darker and more dangerous Ethan’s expression became.

By this point, Angus and the other managers didn’t dare look at her anymore. They were convinced that Miss Anderson’s head was about to get smashed in by Ethan...

"Miss Anderson... please, that’s enough..." Nanny whispered again, trying to pull Lily away.

Bringing her here to calm Ethan down had been the biggest mistake of Nanny’s life.

There couldn’t have been a worse decision!

She didn’t want to witness Miss Anderson’s tragic end at the 30 Days Memorial Hotel...

Lily, however, seemed ready to go all the way. From the moment she had seen Ethan entwined with that woman on the sofa, a fire had ignited in her heart...

She didn’t even know why she had agreed to come here.

And now, all she got was an inappropriate scene for children!

"Lily, if you say one more word, I’ll strangle you!" Ethan gritted his teeth, his voice full of menace.

Lily shook off Nanny’s hand and faced Ethan’s furious, almost explosive expression without a hint of fear.

"And you say you love me?! Ethan Blackwood, do you even know what love is?!"

Was this woman ever going to stop?!

Lily continued, speaking each word forcefully, "Your idea of love is imprisoning a woman! Beating her! Pulling her hair! Sending men to assault her! Ethan, a person like you has no right to talk about love!"

"Your concept of love is a joke!"

Did she want him to strangle her?! His patience was running out! 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Ethan, you are completely insane!"

Lily pressed on, "You’re so self-centered. Have you ever considered anyone else’s feelings?! You think you can get whatever you want, no matter what, by any means necessary, whether they agree or not..."

Ethan’s eyes darkened, and in a flash, he lunged at her, grabbing the back of her head and crushing his lips against hers.

His lips, reeking of alcohol and another woman’s perfume, pressed hard against hers, bruising her painfully.

Another woman’s perfume filled Lily’s nose, disgusting her and twisting her heart with hate.

Slap—

Lily used all her strength to shove him away and delivered a hard slap across his face.

Ethan didn’t dodge. Her slap landed squarely, turning his face to the side.

Everyone fell silent. Even Nanny stepped back in fear. It was over—now there would be a war.

But Ethan stood there, not even raising a hand to scare Lily, shocking everyone.

"Ethan Blackwood, I don’t care whether you’re sober or drunk. I’ll tell you again—I don’t love you, you arrogant man who only lives in his world!"

Lily stepped back, her cold gaze shifting to the woman struggling to free herself from the broken teacup shards on the floor. "Sorry to interrupt. You two can continue."

With that, Lily turned and walked out.

This time, Angus didn’t stop her. The managers all stared at her with a newfound sense of admiration.

Was there anyone else in the world brave enough to scold Mr. Blackwood like that?

Lily stormed out of the hotel, but her fierce demeanor crumbled when she reached the street. She stood there, staring blankly at the traffic, her heart pounding wildly.

What had just happened?

Why had she said all those things?

Ethan had always been like that. What did it have to do with her? Why did it make her so angry?

Tears started falling, salty and bitter as they slipped into her mouth.

Her vision blurred with tears.

The streetlights became hazy, like watercolor bleeding across the night.

Tears kept streaming down, her chest heaving with emotion. Lily pressed her trembling hand to her lips, realizing that just because she didn’t want to admit certain truths didn’t mean they didn’t exist.
