30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 192: A Month of Restraint
"You’re the jealous girl!" Lily shot back, annoyed at the nickname. Couldn’t he come up with something less embarrassing? It was mortifying.
It was perfectly normal for her to care about their relationship, especially given how promiscuous he used to be. If she didn’t lay down the law now, who knew when another woman might slide her hand up his thigh under the table or wake up in his bed?
It was necessary to set boundaries early.
After spending some time cuddling in bed, Lily finally got up to sleep in her bed.
Ethan’s hospital bed was big enough for both of them, but Ethan was a man with an insatiable appetite. As he put it, if she lay beside him, there was no way he’d be able to sleep.
The torture of having her right there but not being able to touch her would drive him insane...
After about ten days in the hospital, Ethan refused to keep his arm in a sling and insisted on being discharged.
"That car is yours now—your personal sports car," Lily said as soon as they returned home, pointing to a silver-blue sports car parked in front of their villa.
The car had a flashy color and an avant-garde design and was a top-tier sports car.
Ethan frowned, giving the car a cold glance.
"Secretary Helen said this is the newest model from Blackwood Enterprises. It’s a globally limited edition, and your father gave it to you as a gift," Lily recited Helen’s words verbatim.
Blackwood Enterprises had its hands in industries worldwide. If anyone did a complete inventory, it wouldn’t be surprising that Blackwood Enterprises had a stake in almost every profitable sector.
The Blackwood family’s wealth was terrifying.
"So I’m only allowed to drive this car from now on?" Ethan asked, his brow still furrowed with displeasure. He had remembered that she’d instructed Secretary Helen to prepare only one car for him.
He had no complaints about the car itself. However, he was used to driving different models with different capabilities. Men often have mysterious attachments to vehicles.
Was this woman seriously going to restrict him to just one car from now on?
"Isn’t this car good?" Lily didn’t quite understand cars, but she opened the door and said, "Secretary Helen said its performance is top-notch."
"Lily," Ethan called her name, trying to keep his tone patient.
"What?"
"You’re only giving me one car?" Ethan tried to keep his voice calm without sounding too domineering.
"How many cars do you want?" Lily asked, looking puzzled. He was just one person with two hands—how many cars did he need? Besides, getting used to one car’s performance was safer. She only intended for him to drive one car.
She had always accused him of being oppressive and unreasonable, of not respecting others... yet now, she didn’t respect him.
He had let her do as she pleased, even allowed her to rearrange the entire household without blinking an eye.
But why was she limiting his cars?
"I often buy new cars and switch them up," Ethan said, his forced patience wearing thin, anger creeping into his voice. "I’ll get bored with just one car!"
"I know. Men like to refer to their cars as their ’wives.’ So, do you want me to buy you a few more ’wives’?" Lily asked, standing by the car door with a dry smile.
"There’s something behind your words." Ethan immediately caught on to the undertone of her comment.
He was going to have his hands full from now on.
"No, there isn’t," Lily replied with a forced smile, patting the car door. "If you want to switch cars, I won’t say much. But some people claim they’ll listen to everything I say, so I’ll just take that with a grain of salt."
Ethan’s face darkened. He wanted to punch himself.
Damn it.
Why had he said such pitiful things to keep her from leaving?
He had promised to do whatever she wanted... Now, she was using that promise against him! Could he be any more pathetic?
He should have just shot himself earlier—why did he bother with all that groveling?
Now, he was tasting the bitter fruits of his own words. This woman was walking all over him!
No way—he had to make her realize he was in charge. He was a man with solid principles, and there was no way he would let a woman lead him around by the nose.
"Lily Anderson..."
Before he could finish, Lily leaned into the car and pulled out a pendant with a safety charm. She dangled it in front of him. "I got this from the temple with Nanny. The master blessed it, and it’s supposed to keep you safe while driving."
Her eyes were sincere, and her clean, bright face lit up as she smiled. Her slender fingers twirled the jade pendant around...
The sunlight cast a golden glow over her fair face, making her smile look warm and gentle. Ethan’s gaze was locked on her.
She had specially gone to the temple to get this for him?!
The harsh words he was about to say got stuck in his throat. He let out a fierce sound through his nose, feeling awkward. "You bought this for me, and are you still playing with it? Put it in the car."
"Ethan, can’t you be a little more polite? I bought you something, and you can’t even say thank you?" Lily asked, annoyed by his ungrateful attitude. She slipped back into the car and hung the charm on the rearview mirror.
"When my woman buys me something, why should I thank you?" Ethan replied shamelessly, following her into the car. He noticed that she had added some small decorations inside.
Soft jazz played a plush pillow on the seat and a framed picture of the two of them—still the one where he had forced a kiss on her.
Lily had always resisted that photo, but now she had voluntarily placed it in his car.
Ethan’s heart skipped a beat.
In this relationship, he had always made all the effort. She had always been cold or avoiding him, never willingly doing anything for him.
He had gotten used to it.
He had first fallen in love with her, so he was bound to end up like this... Whether she gave back or not, he could only love her.
Seeing the thoughtful way she had decorated the car, every little detail filled with sweetness between them... This was the first time he had felt the woman he loved had done something for him.
It felt... pretty lovely.
"By the way, what were you going to say earlier?" Lily asked, playing the music. The smooth sound of a saxophone filled the car.
The sound system in the car was excellent, with impeccable sound quality.
Ethan was still staring at the framed photo, a warm, indescribable feeling coursing through him.
Hearing Lily’s voice, Ethan quickly cleared his throat, trying to push away the emotions that had welled up.
He put the photo back and picked up the light blue pillow, pretending to be annoyed. "This pillow is ugly!"
All thoughts of being in control or being the dominant man were out the window. Who cared about that anymore? As long as she was happy, he didn’t mind.
Lily frowned, grabbing the pillow from him. "Would you prefer a pink one?"
Ethan’s face turned as black as coal. He snatched the pillow back from her, his expression firm. "This color is fine!"
He would never drive again if she dared put a pink pillow in his car!
Seeing Ethan contradict himself, Lily couldn’t help but laugh. "Ethan, you’re such a fickle man!"
He was domineering, arrogant, and overbearing, yet also prone to childish pettiness.
Ethan stared intensely at her smiling face, then raised the pillow and gently pressed her head against the seat. Leaning in, he kissed her passionately, his tongue tangling with hers.
The pillow shielded their faces, casting a shadow over them.
All Lily could see were his deep, dark eyes, as if they could see straight into her soul. Her heart raced as his scorching lips danced with hers, pulling her deeper into the kiss.
The atmosphere in the car heated up quickly...
Soon, the pillow slipped from Ethan’s hand, and his large palm found its way to her chest, expertly kneading her through her lace dress.
"Mm..." Lily couldn’t help but moan, her body going limp as she sank into the seat, letting him have his way. His kisses were so intense, leaving only brief moments for her to breathe. She couldn’t help but let out soft, breathy moans. "Mmm... Ethan..."
Her soft moans sent a jolt of electricity through Ethan.
His breathing grew heavier, and his hands became more restless as they moved lower. He was eager to explore the softer parts of her body...
"Mm... stop..."
Lily grabbed his wandering hand, and Ethan reluctantly stopped, resting his head on her shoulder. His voice was muffled and frustrated, like a child’s. "Lily Anderson..."
"Hmm?" Her voice was still husky from the kiss, hitting Ethan right in the chest.
"How far along are you?"
"Just over five weeks."
"... So that means I still have to hold out for over a month?" Ethan grumbled, rubbing his face against hers and kissing her neck, knowing full well it wasn’t going to satisfy him.
Lily understood what he was thinking. It had been a while since they had been intimate...
Ethan suddenly muttered, "Lily."
"Hmm?" Lily let him kiss her neck. The fact that he had stopped before going too far was a sign of restraint, which she appreciated.
She couldn’t do anything to provoke him further. All she could do was stay still and let him kiss her, waiting for him to stop.
"One kid is enough for us," Ethan whispered into her neck, his voice low and sexy.
Lily was speechless. He wanted to limit the number of children so that he could have more sex. Ethan Blackwood’s mind worked in strange ways...
Lily didn’t respond, and Ethan nuzzled her neck again, planting kisses on her soft skin, leaving little marks. Still unsatisfied, he whispered her name again, his voice thick with frustration. "Lily..."
"Hmm?" What now? Lily sighed to herself. He was acting like a child.
It was just another month. Why did it feel like he thought it was the world’s end? Was it so hard for him to wait?
"I’m hurting," Ethan groaned, taking her hand and slowly guiding it toward the heat building beneath his stomach. He was already painfully hard...
Lily’s face turned bright red as her hand brushed against the hardness beneath his pants. She quickly pulled her hand back. "Ethan... you..."
It’s just another month—was it that difficult for him?
What was he even thinking—was he expecting her to use her hand?
No way, absolutely not.
Ethan glanced at her flushed face. This woman always had such a pure, innocent look about her. If he asked her to help him with her hand, she’d probably flip out...
He had seen her angry enough times. He wasn’t in the mood to see it again just yet.
It had taken two gunshots to get her to stay... Pissing her off now wouldn’t do him any good.
"Forget it. I’ll take a cold shower," Ethan grumbled, kissing her soft cheek before pushing open the car door and stepping out.
Watching him leave, looking defeated, Lily couldn’t help but smile. "Be careful with your wounds. Just wipe down; don’t get them wet."
